Safety Instructions

• Only the LED strip and control box are IP65 water-resistant and suitable for outdoor use.
• During installation and use, be mindful of static electricity and protect yourself from sharp objects and strong corrosive chemicals.
• Install the product using both adhesive tape and mounting clips to achieve maximum adhesion.
• When bending the product during installation, avoid bending the LED components, as this may affect its lifespan.
• Before attaching the product, remove nails, metal, or other conductive objects from the installation surface, as they may cause short circuits.
• Do not allow children to assemble or install this product without adult supervision.
• Do not install the product near potentially hazardous sources (e.g., candles, liquid-filled items).

Introduction

Thank you for choosing Govee RGBIC outdoor strip lights. This waterproof strip light, manufactured with advanced RGBIC technology, offers a wonderful outdoor lighting experience with unlimited colors. It also supports segmented control through the Govee Home application.

Device Installation

Before Installation

• Unpack the box and check all included items.
• Unroll the LED strip and power it on to ensure it lights up.

Installation Steps

Select a suitable wall surface and use an electric drill to create holes for attaching the mounting clips.

Insert a plastic screw anchor into each hole. Align the mounting clips with the drilled holes and screw caps, then screw the clips into the wall.

Wipe the wall surface to ensure it is dry and clean. Peel off the adhesive film on the LED strips. Install the LED strip into the mounting clips and then adhere the rest to the wall. After installation, gently press the LED strip to ensure it is securely attached.

Peel off the adhesive film on the control unit and stick it to a suitable location. Connect the strip to power and enjoy!

Pairing Device with Govee Home App

What You Need

• A Wi-Fi router supporting 2.4 GHz and 802.11 b/g/n bands. 5GHz band is not supported.
• A smartphone or tablet with iOS or Android.

Pairing Instructions

Download the Govee Home app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Enable Bluetooth ? on your smartphone.

Open the app, tap the '+' icon [plus symbol] in the top right corner, and search for "H6172".

Tap the device icon ? and follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.

Voice Control

Open the app and tap the device icon to navigate to the device details page.

Tap the settings icon ⚙️ in the top right corner.

Select "User guide" and follow the on-screen instructions to set up voice control.

Troubleshooting

Adhesive tape is not strong enough.

Use the clips for installation to ensure the light strip is securely attached.

Cannot connect to Bluetooth.

• Do not skip Bluetooth pairing in the app.
• Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
• Your smartphone may be incompatible with the Govee Home app. Try using another smartphone and reconnect.
• Turn off the strip lights and phone Bluetooth, then turn them back on and try again.
• When connecting, ensure your smartphone is within 1m of the light strip.
• Remove any obstacles between the light strips and your smartphone.

Light strips do not display the full selected color / some LEDs do not light up.

Please contact the Govee support team for a quick product replacement.

Cannot synchronize light strips with music rhythm.

• Move the control unit closer to the music source.
• Clean the microphone on the control unit and try again.

Cannot connect to Wi-Fi.

• Do not skip the Wi-Fi connection steps in the app.
• 5GHz network is not supported. Set your router to 2.4GHz and then reset it.
• Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network and check if the network is functioning properly.
• Ensure you have entered the correct Wi-Fi name and password.
• Change the Wi-Fi password to a short one (8 alphanumeric characters recommended).
• Connect your phone's hotspot to the strip lights and check if the router with the strip lights is functioning.

Cannot connect to Alexa.

• Disconnect all connection parts of the light strip and then reconnect them firmly.
• Reset Wi-Fi on your smartphone. Disconnect the adapter port and then reconnect it.
