My Stats

Performance Measurements

Estimates that help track training and race performance, requiring a heart rate monitor or power meter. Estimates are provided by Firstbeat.

Training Status

Indicates how training affects fitness and performance, based on training load and VO2 max. over time. Statuses include Peaking, Productive, Maintaining, Recovery, Unproductive, Detraining, Overreaching, and No Status.

VO2 Max. Estimates

VO2 max. measures oxygen consumption at maximum performance, indicating athletic capability. Estimates are provided by Firstbeat. Requires a heart rate monitor and power meter. For accurate estimates, complete user profile setup and set maximum heart rate. Ride at steady, high intensity for at least 20 minutes outdoors to get an estimate.

Heat and Altitude Performance Acclimation

The device provides acclimation notifications and corrections to VO2 max. and training status for high temperatures (above 22°C/72°F) and altitudes (above 800m/2625ft). Heat acclimation requires GPS activities and smartphone weather data.

Training Load

Measures training volume over the last seven days based on EPOC. The gauge shows if your load is low, high, or optimal. Training Load Focus categorizes training intensity (low aerobic, high aerobic, anaerobic) and provides targets.

Training Effect

Measures the impact of an activity on aerobic and anaerobic fitness. Labels describe the primary benefit (e.g., "Maintains your aerobic fitness").

Recovery Time

Displays the estimated time until you are fully recovered for your next hard workout. Appears after an activity and counts down.

FTP Estimate

Estimates functional threshold power (FTP) using user profile data. Conduct an FTP test for a more accurate rating. View estimates in watts per kilogram.

Stress Score

A three-minute test measuring heart rate variability to determine overall stress. Score ranges from 1 to 100.

Power Curve

Displays sustained power output over time (monthly, quarterly, yearly).

Personal Records

Tracks fastest times, longest rides, and most ascent. Displays new personal records after a ride.

Training Zones

Set up heart rate zones (page 14) and power zones (page 16).

Navigation

Locations

Record and store locations. Mark a location by going for a ride, scrolling to the map, and selecting ... > Mark Location > OK. Save locations from the map by browsing, holding a location, and selecting Save Location.

Navigate to a location by selecting Menu > Navigation > Browse Map or Saved Locations. Navigate back to start by selecting ... > Back to Start.

Putting On the Heart Rate Monitor

Wear the heart rate monitor directly on your skin, below the sternum, snug enough to stay in place. Snap the module onto the strap, wet electrodes and contact patches, wrap the strap around your chest, and connect the hook. Ensure Garmin logos are right-side up.

Setting Your Heart Rate Zones

Configure heart rate zones based on user profile, maximum heart rate, resting heart rate, and lactate threshold. Options include BPM, % Max., % HRR, and %LTHR. Accurate calorie data requires proper zone setup.

Installing Sensors

Installing the Speed Sensor

Secure the bike on a stand. Place the speed sensor on the wheel hub, pull the strap around the hub, and attach to the hook. Rotate the wheel to check clearance.

Installing the Cadence Sensor

Secure the bike on a stand. Select the appropriate band size for your crank arm. Place the sensor on the non-drive side of the crank arm, pull bands around the arm, and attach to hooks. Rotate the crank arm to check clearance.

NOTE: The LED flashes green for five seconds after two revolutions, indicating activity.

About the Speed and Cadence Sensors

Cadence data is always recorded. If no speed/cadence sensors are paired, GPS data is used for speed and distance. Cadence is measured in revolutions per minute (rpm).

Data Averaging for Cadence or Power

Configure non-zero data averaging for cadence and power sensors (see Data Recording Settings, page 21).

Pairing Your Wireless Sensors

Bring the device within 3m (10 ft.) of the sensor. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Sensors > Add Sensor. Select sensor type or Search All.
