3.2 Installing the Fixture

The projector can be installed on the floor resting on specific rubber feet, on a truss, on the ceiling, or wall.

WARNING: Safety chains must be installed unless the projector rests on the floor. (Code 2x 105041/801 available upon request). These must be secured to the projector support structure and then hooked to the two fastening points.

Figure 3: Projector installation illustrates mounting the fixture on the floor using rubber feet, on a truss, or on a ceiling/wall. It emphasizes the mandatory use of safety chains when not resting on the floor, secured to the support structure and fixture's fastening points.

3.3 Connecting to Mains Supply

Connect the power cord to the fixture's Neutrik PowerCON TRUE1 connector. The fixture operates with a mains voltage range of 100-240V and a maximum current draw of 3.3-8A.

Figure 5: Connecting and disconnecting the power cord shows how to attach and detach the power cable. Figure 6 illustrates the power input/output connections.

3.4 Connecting the Control Signal Line: DMX / Art-Net

Use a cable conforming to specifications EIA RS-485: 2-pole twisted, shielded, 120Ω characteristic impedance, 22-24 AWG, low capacity. Do not use microphone cable or other cable with characteristics differing from those specified.

End connections must be made using XLR type 5-pin male/female connectors. A terminating plug (120Ω, minimum 1/4W) must be inserted on the last projector between terminals 2 and 3.

IMPORTANT: The wires must not make contact with each other or with the metal casing of the connectors. The casing must be connected to the shield braid and pin 1 of the connectors.

Figure 7: Connections to the control signal line (DMX) details the DMX 512 (5-pin) and Ethernet connections, including cable specifications and connector types.

3.5 Switching on the Fixture and Basic SetUp

Upon switching on, the fixture resets effects. The display shows firmware version and DMX address. The control panel, featuring an LCD display and buttons, allows for programming and management.

The display can be in rest status (showing DMX address) or setting status. After 30 seconds of inactivity in setting status, it returns to rest status, cancelling any unconfirmed changes.

Display Reversal (Fig. 9): Press UP and DOWN keys simultaneously in rest mode to reverse the display. This setting is maintained across power cycles.

Setting Projector Starting Address: The DMX starting address (1-512) can be set via the control panel, even with the projector switched off.

Button Functions (Using the Menu):

  • [OK]: Confirms the displayed value, activates a function, or enters the next menu.
  • [DOWN]: Decreases the displayed value (with auto-repetitions) or moves to the next item in the menu.
  • [UP]: Increases the displayed value (with auto-repetitions) or moves to the previous item in a menu.
  • [LEFT]: Returns to the top level menu.
  • [RIGHT]: Navigates through units, tens, and hundreds in menus like "Address", "Fixture ID", and "Calibration".

Setting Addresses and Options when Disconnected: DMX address and other options can be set when the appliance is disconnected from the electricity supply by pressing [RIGHT] to activate the display.

Figure 8: Switching on the projector shows the display information during reset. Figure 9 illustrates display reversal and setting the projector starting address. Button functions are explained.
