Location Examples
Pole Mounting
Description: The NR7701 is mounted on a pole. An Ethernet cable connects it to a PoE Injector, which then connects to a power outlet and a gateway/router.
Wall/Glass Mounting
Description: The NR7701 is mounted on a wall or glass surface. An Ethernet cable connects it to a PoE Injector, which then connects to a power outlet and a gateway/router.
Instruction: Place the NR7701 in an open area free of obstacles, and adjust the angle to point the front panel towards the base station to achieve the strongest possible 5G NR signal.
Step 1: SIM Card Installation
Instruction: Ensure no Ethernet cable is connected. Insert your Nano/4FF SIM card provided by your 5G NR Internet Service Provider (ISP) into the SIM card slot. Make sure the SIM card is fully inserted.
Step 2: Ethernet Cable Connection
1. Cable Insertion: Press down the tab of the Ethernet cable and pass it through the SIM cover [A].
2. Prepare for Connection: Turn the NR7701 upside down with the mounting side facing up. Open the waterproof plug [C] and attach it with the open side facing up.
3. Connect to Device: Insert the Ethernet cable into the LAN (PoE) port of the NR7701 and secure the waterproof plug [C] into place.
4. Secure Connection: Screw the waterproof plug [C] tightly into the NR7701, aligning the plus (+) mark with the circle (O) mark on the NR7701. Maximum torque: 0.5 N.m. (Note: Do not tighten the screw fully on the first pass; tighten completely on the second pass).
Step 3: PoE Cable Connection
Diagram Description: A setup showing a Modem/Router connected via a short Ethernet cable [D] to the LAN port of a PoE Injector [B]. The PoE Injector's PoE port is connected via an Ethernet cable [D] to the NR7701. The PoE Injector is plugged into a Power Outlet. (Note: Avoid contact with liquid; handle with care.)
Instructions:
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable [D] to the provided PoE injector's [B] PoE port.
- Use the short Ethernet cable [D] to connect the injector's [B] LAN port to a router/gateway for initial configuration.
- Connect the PoE injector [B] to a power outlet.
- Check the LEDs on the side panel of the NR7701.

1. Download App: Scan the QR code to download the Zyxel App on your mobile device.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi: Scan the Wi-Fi QR code on the device label and follow the prompts to connect to the NR7701's Wi-Fi network on your mobile. Note: Wi-Fi is for local management only. If Wi-Fi turns off automatically, restart the NR7701 to enable Wi-Fi.
3. Log In: Remove the label from the back of the NR7701 and affix it to the PoE injector. Scan the login QR code to log in to the Zyxel app for the first time using the default username ('admin') and password (refer to the device label). Alternatively, you can manage the NR7701 via the web configurator.
Step 5: Find the Optimal Signal with the Signal LED
Instruction: Before mounting your NR7701, locate the position that receives the strongest possible 5G NR signal. Use the Signal LEDs to help determine the best location.
Mounting Options
Option 1: Wall Mounting
Instructions:
- Using the wall bracket [J], mark four points on the wall and drill the appropriate holes.
- Insert the four dowels [F] into the drilled holes.
- Use the M4 tapping screws [G] to secure the wall bracket [J] to the wall.
- Use the M4 round head screws [H], springs, and plain washers to attach the device bracket [I] to the back of the NR7701.
- Position the NR7701 so the device bracket [I] aligns with the wall bracket [J] and slide it down gently. Use the M3 tapping screw [G] to secure the device bracket [I] to the wall bracket [J] through the bottom hole.
Option 2: Glass Mounting
Instructions:
- Remove the adhesive backing protection and attach the 3M™ stickers [K] to the back of the wall bracket [J]. Remove the backing from the self-adhesive front and affix the wall bracket [J] onto the glass. Note: Ensure the glass surface is clean and dry before applying the 3M stickers [K].
