Installation Steps
It is highly recommended to watch the video "Waterdrop G2 undersink RO installation" on YouTube ▶️.
General Notes:
- Connect to COLD water supply ONLY.
- Do not install in direct sunlight, near harmful chemicals, heat sources, or outdoors.
Step 1: Install the Feed Water Adapter (3/8" or 1/2")
Ensure water supply is shut off and pressure is released. Disconnect the cold water pipe from the valve and attach the feed water adapter. If the cold water pipe is 1/2", unscrew converters first.
Diagram Description (Figure 3 & 4): Shows connecting the feed water adapter to the cold water supply valve and then connecting the cold water pipe to the adapter. Illustrates unscrewing converters for a 1/2" pipe.
Step 2: Install the RO Faucet (Non-Air Gap Faucet)
If no hole is available, drill a 1" hole or use the soap dispenser hole (refer to Page 5 for drilling instructions). Insert the faucet spout into the body, then the stem into the countertop hole. Secure parts under the sink and attach the quick-connect fitting to the faucet stem.
Diagram Description (Figure 5): Illustrates installing the RO faucet body, stem, mounting washer, nut, and quick-connect fitting under the sink.
Step 3: Install the Drain Saddle
Choose a convenient spot on the drainpipe and drill a 1/4" hole, avoiding the opposite side. Install the drain saddle on the vertical drainpipe. Connect the waste water tubing to the saddle, ensuring it's inserted about 0.6". Secure with screws and a lock clip.
Diagram Description (Figure 6, 7, 8): Shows the front and back plates of the drain saddle, inserting tubing into the drilled hole, and securing the saddle.
NOTE: In some areas, waste water tubing requires an air gap connection (additional accessories may be needed).
Step 4: Position the RO System Housing
Ensure sufficient space under the countertop. A power outlet must be accessible. Avoid placing the housing directly against the cabinet to prevent vibration noise.
Diagram Description (Figure 9): Shows the dimensions of the RO system housing (14" height, 17.3" length, 5.9" width) and its placement under the countertop.
Step 5: Connect Tubing
Refer to "How to Use the Quick-Connect Fittings" on page 4 for detailed instructions.
- Input Water Tubing: Connect from the feed water adapter to the "IN" water port on the system. Ensure full insertion to the mark.
- Filtered Water Tubing: Connect from the RO faucet to the "F" filtered water port on the system. Ensure full insertion to the mark.
- Waste Water Tubing: Connect from the drain saddle to the "W" waste water port on the system. Ensure full insertion to the mark.
Diagram Description: Illustrates the connection points for input, filtered, and waste water tubing using quick-connect fittings and lock clips.
Step 6: Start up the System
- Turn on the cold water supply valve and check for leaks.
- Insert the power plug. If the system doesn't power on, check power sources and connections.
- The system will beep, and filter life indicators will flash blue, purple, and red before turning solid blue for 3 seconds.
- Turn on the RO faucet and let water run for 30 minutes for flushing. The filtering indicator should change from flashing to permanent blue. Check all connections for leaks during flushing. Note: Water is undrinkable during this 30-minute flush.
- Confirm flushing is complete and the faucet doesn't leak.
- Secure the power adapter with a cable tie to prevent movement. Keep away from water sources.
