Removing the Panels

Removing the Side Panels

IMPORTANT: The side and front glass panels are made from tempered glass. Users should avoid setting tempered glass on stone (e.g. granite or quartz countertops), ceramics (e.g. tile floors), or other materials that are harder/denser than glass. Failure to observe these guidelines can result in the tempered glass being damaged or destroyed. Corsair offers replacement panels on their website.

Removing the Front Panel

Installing the Motherboard

The 3500X supports mITX, mATX, ATX and E-ATX (up to 305mm x 277mm) motherboards, including ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, and Gigabyte Project Stealth motherboards with reversed power connections.

TIP: If standoffs don't align, uninstall unused ones and relocate them to the open standoff slot in the motherboard tray for your specific motherboard.

Installing a Radiator

The 3500X comes with two 360mm radiator mounts on the top and side, along with a smaller 120mm radiator mount in the rear.

TIP: Ensure the radiator is higher than the pump for expected noise/thermal performance and reliability. Avoid installing an AIO in the bottom 360mm mount to prevent premature pump wear, reduced thermal performance, and increased noise.

Top 360mm / 280mm / 240mm
Rear 120mm
Bottom None
Side 360mm / 280mm / 240mm
PSU Shroud None

Top mounting provides optimal noise performance, but other mounts can be utilized based on your build preferences.

Installing PCI Devices

The 3500X fits most modern graphics cards horizontally out of the box.

Installing a GPU in a Vertical Orientation

The 3500X also allows GPUs to be mounted vertically by simply rotating the PCI plate and installing a PCIe Riser Card (sold separately).

Installing Hard Disk and Solid State Drives

The 3500X supports 2x 3.5" HDDs & 2x 2.5" SSDs simultaneously using the removable drive plate.

Drive Plate Removal

Installing a Solid State Drive

NOTE: You must install the SSDs before the HDDs if you intend to install both on the same plate location.

[Diagram showing SSD installation on the drive plate]

Installing a Hard Disk

To install a HDD, screw the HDD in from the bottom of the plate, into the bottom of the drive plate.

Installing the Fans in the Side

TIP: Only turn each screw a couple turns so you can slide the fans up and down to align them as you wish.

Installing the Fans on the Bottom

TIP: If you are installing an iCUE LINK fan here, position the fan so the iCUE LINK plug is closer to the motherboard tray for an easy cable run through the bottom cable management holes.

Cable Management Tips

The 3500X Series includes various cable management features such as:

TIP: Use the zip tie points on the rear of the case to tidy up unruly USBs or other peripheral cables. Motherboards that feature connectors on the rear face of the board provide you with the cleanest build.

Connecting Your Fans

3500X ARGB - PWM Plugging into the Motherboard

NOTE: The 4-pin PWM plug only powers the fan's motor and is a completely separate circuit from the RGB.

3500X ARGB - RGB Plugging into the Motherboard

NOTE: Each motherboard manufacturer has their own name for this header but it should be a 4-pin with the 3rd pin missing and is usually called JRGB/DRGB/ARGB or Addressable RGB.
