Location Requirements
⚠️ WARNING: Explosion Hazard
Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from appliance. Use nonflammable cleaner. Failure to do so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
Intended Use: This appliance is intended for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas, farm houses, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast environments, and catering.
Ventilation: To ensure proper ventilation, allow for:
- 1/2" (1.25 cm) of space on each side and at the top.
- 1" (2.54 cm) of space behind the refrigerator.
- Extra space at the back for water line connections if an ice maker is present.
- 2 1/2" (6.3 cm) minimum on the hinge side for door swing clearance when next to a fixed wall.
Temperature Range: This refrigerator is designed for locations with ambient temperatures between 55°F (13°C) and 110°F (43°C). The ideal range for optimal performance and energy efficiency is 60°F (15°C) to 90°F (32°C). Avoid installing near heat sources like ovens or radiators.
Electrical Requirements
⚠️ WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not remove the ground prong. Do not use an adapter or extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.
Installation: Ensure proper electrical connection before moving the refrigerator. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified person. Do not use a cord with cracks or abrasion damage.
Grounding Method: A 115 V, 60 Hz AC-only, 15 A or 20 A fused, grounded electrical supply is required. A separate circuit for the refrigerator and approved accessories is recommended. Use an outlet that cannot be turned off by a switch. Do not use an extension cord.
GFCI Outlet: If connected to a GFCI outlet, nuisance tripping may occur, leading to loss of cooling and affecting food quality. Dispose of food if this happens and food appears poor.
Powering Down: Before installation, cleaning, or replacing a light bulb, turn cooling off or set the control to 'Off'. For digital controls, press the minus sign until a dash (-) appears. Disconnect the refrigerator from the electrical source. Reconnect and turn cooling on after completion.
Water Pressure Requirements
Water Supply: A cold water supply with water pressure between 35 psi and 120 psi (241 kPa and 827 kPa) is required for the water dispenser and ice maker. Consult a licensed plumber if you have questions about your water pressure.
Note on Low Pressure: If water pressure is below the minimum requirement, the water dispenser flow may decrease, or ice cubes could be hollow or irregularly shaped.
Reverse Osmosis Water Supply: The water pressure from a reverse osmosis system going to the refrigerator's water inlet valve must be between 35 psi and 120 psi (241 kPa and 827 kPa). If the RO system is connected to your home cold water supply, the RO system itself needs a minimum pressure of 40 psi to 60 psi (276 kPa to 414 kPa).
