Installation Overview
Step 1: Determine the orientation of the door.
The VPRG4/VPRG4R Kit includes two mounting hinges. For the VPRG4, one hinge mounts to the left side of the opening, positioning the return air openings at the lower portion of the door (View A). The other hinge mounts to the right side of the opening, positioning the return air openings at the upper portion of the door (View B). This allows flexibility in door opening direction and can help with sound attenuation by placing the return air openings away from the unit's evaporator opening.
Diagram Description: View A shows a left-hinged setup with lower return air openings. View B shows a right-hinged setup with upper return air openings. A note clarifies the VPRG4R is right-hinged with lower openings.
Follow STEPS 2A through 6A for left side mounting (View A).
Follow STEPS 2B through 6B for right side mounting (View B).
