Hoover HCS5176A Fridge Freezer

Instruction Manual

Control Panel

To access the control panel, open the top door of the fridge.

Turn the knob to switch on the appliance and set the temperature for the freezer compartment and fridge. The recommended setting is between 2 and 3. Turn the knob to "0" to turn off the appliance.

Figure 1: Control Panel Description

The control panel features a knob with settings from 0 (off) to 3, including a "SUPER" setting. An orange light indicates when the "SUPER" function is active, meaning the compressor is running normally. A green "ON" light indicates the unit is working, unless the knob is set to 0.

Note: Some appliances may take up to 6 minutes to start functioning after being connected to the power supply and having the temperature set.

Freezing

All freezer compartments are designed for the preservation of frozen foods. For optimal freezing when the freezer is at maximum capacity, it is recommended to remove the drawers and place food directly on the shelves.

Some models feature a specific section in the top part (refer to the quick guide). To freeze food, place it in the designated drawer, turn the thermostat clockwise to the "SUPER" position, and the orange light will illuminate (as shown in Figure 1). Freezing is complete after 24 hours. Reset the thermostat to position 2-3. The "SUPER" function automatically deactivates from the circuit board after 26 hours.

Figure 2: Rating Plate Description

The rating plate indicates the maximum quantity of food that can be frozen.

Important: For effective air circulation, ensure there is space between food items and avoid blocking the cooling air outlets.

Defrosting

A small amount of frost or water droplets on the back of the freezer compartment during operation is normal. Ensure the water outlet is always clean. Make sure food items do not touch the back or sides of the freezer compartment.

This product is equipped with an automatic frost-free system, eliminating the need for manual defrosting.

Note: The rating plate contains essential information for contacting the Service Department in case of faults.

Important: In very warm room temperatures, the appliance may operate continuously, potentially causing a layer of frost to form on the back of the fridge compartment. In such cases, adjust the knob to lower settings (1-2).
