4. Operating the Streamflo Filtration Systems
Electrical Specifications and Safety
Electrical connections must comply with current legislation (IEC 60364-1) and manufacturer's instructions. Ensure sockets are adequate for the appliance's power rating. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt. The correct plug should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
Varitech Systems Ltd is not liable for damage caused by faulty or incorrect connections. Before connecting, check that the rating plate specifications match the mains electrical supply. If using an extension cable, ensure it has an adequate cross-section (minimum 1.5 mmq) and that the plug and socket are watertight.
The electrical safety of the equipment is guaranteed only when correctly and efficiently earthed according to electrical safety legislation. If in doubt, have a qualified electrician check the system. It is recommended to use a residual current device (RCD) that interrupts the supply if leakage current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 30ms, or a device that proves the earth circuit.
Varitech Systems Ltd is not liable for damage caused by faulty earthing. Disconnect the equipment from the mains only by unplugging the plug from the socket.
General electrical safety rules:
- Do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet.
- Do not touch the appliance with bare feet or unsuitable clothing.
- Do not pull the power cable or appliance itself to unplug the plug from the mains.
Operating the Streamflo Filtration Systems
Ensure the unit has an identification plate. If missing, notify the distributor/manufacturer. Products without an identification plate are considered anonymous and potentially dangerous.
Unpacking of the Streamflo Filtration System
Your Streamflo filtration system has been carefully manufactured, checked, and packaged. Unpack carefully and perform a thorough visual check of all parts. If in doubt, do not use the system and contact your dealer or manufacturer. Keep packaging materials away from children as they may pose a hazard. Packaging can be recycled according to local legislation.
Storage of the Streamflo Filtration System
Protect the system from algae and bacteria growth in pressure vessels caused by stagnant water. The de-ionising (DI) resin must not dry out. The unit must be protected from freezing.
You can transport or store the trolley system with the handles folded down. Loosen the locking fixings, lift the handle, and fold forwards.
About your system
To operate the Streamflo filtration system, fill the storage tank with standard mains tap water. The water is drawn from the storage tank by the 100psi pump and pushed through the DI resin vessel, reaching a 000ppm result before exiting to the telescopic pole.
System Components:
- Flow Controller
- Trolley frame
- Outlet Water Connections
- 6 x 18 DI Filter (On SF-TR25L-072 model only)
- Solid Wheels
- Pump
- 12v Lithium-Ion Battery
Charging your Battery
The lithium-ion 12V battery is ready to be charged when received.
- Plug the charger into an electrical socket.
- Insert the charger socket into the lithium battery terminal and switch the battery charger on.
- RED and GREEN lights will indicate the battery charging completion.
Important: Only use the Streamline charger supplied with your Streamflo filtration system. If misplaced, contact your dealer or manufacturer immediately. The charger has a safety function to prevent the battery from overcharging. You can operate the system and keep the battery on charge. Pay special attention to the mains electrical supply when operating with water.
Assembling the System
- Ensure the trolley system is safely secure and stable on a level surface.
Turning your Streamflo Filtration System ON
- When in position, press the power button on the flow controller and hold for 2 seconds.
- Adjust the speed of the water flow through the 100psi pump using the ↑ and ↓ arrows on the flow controller.
Please ensure you regularly check the water quality with the handheld TDS meter provided.
Important: If you have a 50ltr trolley system, it is important that the pump draws from both 25ltr water tanks simultaneously.
Operating your Streamflo Filtration System
The Streamflo filtration system is designed for single-operator use. Water supply interruptions for short periods (e.g., moving between windows) are normal. If the system is interrupted for long periods, switch off the pump to prevent overheating, over-pressurizing, or damage. If using 4x jets with a waterfed brush, increase the controller speed for sufficient water flow for quality cleaning and rinsing.
Important: If you have a 50ltr trolley system, it is important that the pump draws from both 25ltr water tanks simultaneously.

Maintenance and Replacing Filters
Proper care and maintenance of your Streamflo filtration system will ensure it is well looked after and running smoothly. A weekly examination of the system is recommended to ensure filters and connections are adequate and effective for producing pure 000ppm water quality.
Weekly Inspection
- Check the pure water TDS using the handheld TDS meter. If the output reads higher than 3ppm, it is recommended to change the de-ionising (DI) filter. Make a note in the inspection booklet.
- Check the battery voltage by running through the controller function until 'BAT' is displayed. A healthy battery will read between 11V and 12.4V.
De-ionising (DI) Resin Beads - usage and replacing
The DI resin filter is the final polishing filter for RO pure water. It is recommended for monthly replacement or approximately every 2,000 liters of pure water (starting with TDS of 100ppm).
How do I change the DI resin cartridge?
- Ensure the pump is switched off and the system is de-pressurized.
- Remove the inlet and outlet hose from the DI filter.
