Motion Sensor User Guide

Mounting Kit

The mounting kit includes:

  • Screw x2
  • Battery x2
  • Double-sided Tape

Installation Steps:

  1. Open the sensor by sliding the rear cover.
  2. Insert two AAA batteries inside the sensor.

Setting up your Wireless Motion Sensor

  1. Follow instructions and get your compatible Zigbee hub setup.
  2. Configure the Wireless Motion Sensor with your Zigbee hub. (For help and troubleshooting related to configuring a device with a Zigbee hub, visit the hub's user manual. Pairing steps for different brands are illustrated on pages 3-8.)
  3. To factory reset the sensor, long press the inside button of the sensor to place it in pairing mode. Release the hold until the red LED turns on. After releasing the hold, the LED will change to a fast blinking blue light, indicating the sensor is ready for setup.
  4. Replace the sensor's rear cover and ensure it is closed securely.

Using your Wireless Motion Sensor

Certain environmental conditions can cause false triggers. Avoid placing the Wireless Motion Sensor in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as hot air vents, portable heaters, or steam from showers.

  1. Clean and dry the installation surface. Remove the protective layer of double-sided tape and adhere the sensor in your desired installation area.
  2. Wireless motion sensors can only be applied indoors.
  3. When motion is detected, you will receive a message alert on your phone.

Pairing with Amazon Echo

Compatible Devices: Echo (4th Gen), Echo Plus (1st Gen & 2nd Gen), Echo Show10 (2nd Gen & 3rd Gen) and Echo studio

App: Amazon Alexa App

Pairing Steps:

  1. Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, insert two AAA batteries, and then long press the inside button of the sensor until the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Give Alexa a voice command: "Alexa, discover my devices." Alternatively, open the Alexa App, go to the device page, tap "+" on the top right, choose "Add Device," then click "other" by sliding down, and tap "DISCOVER DEVICES." Wait a few seconds for the motion sensor to be paired to Alexa.
  3. After successful pairing, you can rename the sensor and set up Routines in the Alexa App.

Pairing with SmartThings

Compatible Devices: SmartThings Hub 2015 & 2018, Aeotec

App: SmartThings App

Pairing Steps:

  1. Open the "SmartThings" App and go to the devices page.
  2. Tap the "+" icon on the top right and click "Add device."
  3. Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, insert two AAA batteries, and then long press the inside button of the sensor until the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  4. Choose "Scan for nearby devices." SmartThings will begin scanning.
  5. The "Motion Sensor" icon will appear on the page, indicating that pairing is complete.
  6. You can rename the Motion sensor.

Pairing with Eero

Compatible Devices: Eero 6 & Eero 6 Pro

App: Eero App, Alexa App

Pairing Steps:

  1. Ensure your Eero App account is logged in and the gateway is properly connected.
  2. Open the Alexa App, register your account, and enable the Eero Skill for Alexa.
  3. Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, insert two AAA batteries, and then long press the inside button of the sensor until the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  4. Before pairing, ensure your Echo devices are updated to the latest version. You can then say, "Alexa, discover my devices." Alternatively, open the Alexa App, go to the device page, tap "+" on the top right, choose "Add Device," click "other" by sliding down, and tap "DISCOVER DEVICES." Wait a few seconds for the motion sensor to be paired to Alexa.
  5. After successful pairing, you can rename the sensor and set up Routines in the Alexa App.

Pairing with Third Reality Hub

Compatible Devices: Third Reality Smart Hub

App: Third Reality App

Pairing Steps:

  1. Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, insert two AAA batteries, and then long press the inside button of the sensor until the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Open the Third Reality App, go to the device page, tap "+", select the Hub, choose "Motion Sensor," and click "Pair."
  3. After successful pairing, tap "Complete" and return to the main interface.
  4. Tap the "Motion Sensor" icon on the device page to view details such as Battery, History Records, and more.
  5. Open the Alexa App, log in, follow the prompts to enable the "Third Reality Skill," and tap "DISCOVER DEVICES." You can then set up Routines through the Alexa App or Echo Devices.

Pairing with Home Assistant

Pairing Steps:

  1. Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, insert two AAA batteries, and then long press the inside button of the sensor until the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Ensure Home Assistant Integrations ZigBee Home Automation Setup is ready, then click "+ Add Device" on the Device Page.
  3. After successful pairing, it will appear as "Third Reality, Inc 3RSB016BZ" on the page.
  4. Navigate back to the "Devices & Services" page, click the device list under the "HubZ Smart Home Controller" button, and you will find the Motion Sensor that was added.
  5. You can add "Automated Actions" and check device status information on the "Device" page.

Pairing with Hubitat

Pairing Steps:

  1. Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, insert two AAA batteries, and then long press the inside button of the sensor until the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Log in to the website and click 'Connect to Hub'.
  3. After pairing with the Hub, choose "Devices," click "Discover Devices," tap "ZigBee," and choose "Start ZigBee Pairing."
  4. After successful pairing, it will show on the page as "Generic Zigbee Motion Sensor (no temp)."
  5. Return to the Device page, locate the Motion Sensor, click on it, and you can rename it and view its details.

Trouble Shooting

  1. Factory reset
    Answer: Slide the rear cover up to open the Motion Sensor, long press the inside button of the sensor, and release it when the red LED light turns on and flashes blue rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Doesn't pair with Echo Devices
    Answer: Ensure your Echo Speaker is compatible with the wireless motion sensor and is updated to the latest version. Compatible Echo speakers include Echo (4th Gen), Echo Plus (1st Gen & 2nd Gen), Echo Show10 (2nd Gen & 3rd Gen), and Echo studio.
    • Reboot the Echo speaker by unplugging the power and plugging it back in, then try to pair the motion sensor again.
    • Factory reset the Echo speaker: Press and hold the Action button for 25 seconds. The light ring will pulse orange, then turn off. Wait for the light ring to turn back on and turn blue. The light ring then turns orange again, and the device enters setup mode. Try pairing the motion sensor again.
  3. Doesn't pair with SmartThings
    Answer: Ensure the SmartThings Hub is online and updated to the latest version, as is the SmartThings App. Make sure the motion sensor is placed as close to the Hub as possible.
    • Reboot the SmartThings Hub by unplugging the power and plugging it back in, then try to pair the motion sensor again.
    • Factory reset the SmartThings Hub, then try to pair the motion sensor again.
  4. Check Histories and Battery Level
    Answer: Open the Third Reality App, tap the icon of the wireless motion sensor to enter the details page. You can see the History Records and battery level.
  5. The battery level is too low.
    Answer: This is a software compatibility issue with the current firmware. You can estimate the "real" battery level by multiplying the displayed level by 2. This issue will be fixed in a future software release.
