Cleaning Schedule
Frequency | Cleaning Method |
---|---|
When necessary | Wipe the surface of the appliance with a soft dry cloth. Clean the air outlet cover. |
Every two months | Clean the air quality sensor with a dry cotton swab. |
Every four weeks | Clean the surface of the filter. |
Cleaning the Body of the Air Purifier
Regularly clean the inside and outside of the air purifier to prevent dust accumulation.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean both the interior and exterior of the air purifier.
- The air outlet can also be cleaned with a dry, soft cloth.
Cleaning the Air Quality Sensor
Clean the air quality sensor every two months for optimal functioning.
If the air purifier is used in a dusty environment, it may need more frequent cleaning. If room humidity is very high, condensation may form on the sensor, potentially indicating poorer air quality even if it is good. In such cases, clean the sensor or use a manual speed setting.
- Switch off the air purifier and unplug it from the power socket.
- Clean the inlet and outlet of the air quality sensor with a soft brush.
- Open the air quality sensor cover.
- Clean the air quality sensor and dust inlet/outlet with a slightly damp cotton swab.
- Dry all parts thoroughly with a dry cotton swab.
- Reattach the air quality sensor cover.
Cleaning the Surface of the Filter
Wipe the surface of the filter with a soft wet cloth or clean it with a vacuum cleaner.
Using a high-power/industrial vacuum cleaner may damage the filter.

Problem | Possible Solution |
---|---|
The appliance does not work even though it is plugged in. | The [filter replacement alert] is on, but the filter hasn't been replaced, locking the appliance. Replace the filter and reset the filter lifetime counter. |
The airflow from the air outlet is significantly weaker than before. | The filter surface is dirty. Clean the filter surface (see "Cleaning"). |
Air quality does not improve, even after long operation. |
|
The appliance produces a strange smell. | Initially, a plastic smell may occur, which is normal. If a burnt smell persists after removing the filter, contact Philips. The filter may absorb indoor gases over time. Reactivating the filter by placing it in direct sunlight may help. If odor persists, replace the filter. |
The appliance is extra loud. |
|
The appliance still indicates filter replacement is needed, but it has been replaced. | The filter lifetime counter may not have been reset. Turn on the appliance, then press and hold the [mode switch/filter reset button] for 3 seconds until the indicator disappears. |
Appliance stays off, but the air quality light blinks for one minute. | The appliance may have malfunctions. Contact the Consumer Care Center. |
