Junior Adventures Group: Using Tax-Free Childcare with Magicbooking

Dear Parent/Carer,

Junior Adventures Group is pleased to inform you that you can now use your Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) account to pay for bookings through Magicbooking. This guide will help you link your Childcare Choices (HMRC) account to your Magicbooking profile, enabling your TFC balance to be displayed and used directly for bookings.

What You Need to Do

1. Link Your Junior Adventures Group Setting in Your HMRC Account:

Sign in at: https://www.gov.uk/sign-in-childcare-account
Click ‘Your Tax-Free Childcare account’ and select your child's profile.
Click ‘Add Childcare Provider’.
Search for your JAG setting using the setting name, postcode, or OFSTED registration number. (You can find these details in your Magicbooking under Account > Centres, in the ‘Tax-Free Childcare Info’ column).
Select your JAG setting and click ‘Continue.’
If needed, you can also link additional children.

2. Connect Your HMRC Account to Magicbooking:

Log in to your Magicbooking account.
Go to Account > Account Details.
Find the HMRC card and click 'Connect Account.'
You will be redirected to GOV.UK to sign in and authorise the connection.
Once connected, your TFC balance will display in Magicbooking.

Connecting Your Software to HMRC

To allow your software to connect with HMRC, Magicbooking requires permission to:

Access Tax-Free Childcare account details, and process requests for payments to childcare providers.
Say Hello.

Your permission lasts 18 months. After that, you will need to give permission again. You can remove permission at any time. Magicbooking will conform to their privacy policy and terms and conditions.

Note: Do not share your Government Gateway user ID and password with anyone else.

Existing TFC Payments

Once your TFC account is connected to Magicbooking, the system automatically applies TFC instalments to existing bookings.

Important: If you currently have a standing order set up separately for TFC payments, please cancel it once your Magicbooking account is linked. This will avoid duplicate payments.

Top-up and View Your TFC Balance

Go to your Magicbooking Account > Account Details.
If your account is not yet connected, complete step 2 first.
Refresh the page to see your latest TFC balance.
Click 'Top-up' to access your HMRC portal and add funds.
