Read and follow all the instructions in this "use and care" even if you feel familiar with the product, and find a place to keep it handy for future reference.

Your attention is drawn particularly to the sections concerning "important safeguards", "for your safety", and "service" statements.

For your convenience, record the complete model number (located on the product identification plate) and the date you received the product, together with your purchase receipt, and attach it to the warranty and service information. Retain this in the event that warranty service is required.

Note: The rating of this product (as marked on the product identification plate) is based on specific loading tests. Normal use or the use of other recommended attachments may draw significantly less power.

How to Use Your Hot Plate

Before using your hot plate for the first time, turn the hot plate on the highest setting for 3 to 5 minutes to condition the protective coating. This should be the only time the hot plate is turned on without a cooking utensil on it.

For the most efficient operation of your hot plate, the cooking utensils used should have a solid base and be as even as possible, with a diameter of approximately 18 to 20 cm and a maximum capacity of 1.5 liters (for a 1500 watts hot plate), and a diameter of approximately 15 to 17 cm and a maximum capacity of 1 liter (for an 800 watts hot plate). The base diameter of cooking utensils smaller than the diameter of the hot plate should not be used.

Cooking utensils, regardless of their size, should not project beyond the hot plate or intrude into the area in close proximity to the controls. Utensils with convex, concave, or uneven bottoms should not be used.

Operation of Control

Turn the controls to the recommended position marked to achieve the desired temperature. Use this guide as a reference.

Note: Both hot plates can be used at the same time; however, care must be exercised to prevent the cooking utensil handles from protruding over the adjacent hot plate.

Important: When not in use, always turn the controls to the "0" position and disconnect from the power outlet.

Recommended settings for cooking:

  • 1. For simmering of delicate foods, and thickening sauces, etc.
  • 2. Slow cooking
  • 3. For simmering large quantities
  • 4. Shallow frying of meat and pan dishes
  • 5. To bring all dishes to rapid heat
  • 6. To bring all dishes to a boil

Note: The indicator lamp will go off when the hot plate reaches the selected temperature, and will cycle on and off to maintain the temperature.

How to Care for Your Hot Plate

  • Disconnect the hot plate from the power outlet.
  • Never immerse the hot plate in any liquid.
  • Do not allow the cord to touch any hot surfaces of the hot plate.
  • Clean the painted surfaces with a damp soft cloth and mild household cleaning powder.
  • Baked-on marks on the circular hot plate can be removed with a household cleaning powder. Turn the unit on for a moment to dry after cleaning.
  • Commercially available hot plate cleaners are recommended to preserve the natural finish of the hot plate.

Read and save these instructions.
