The GARDENA battery pump is designed for drawing water from reservoirs such as paddling pools or rainwater collectors (especially the GARDENA rain barrel collector) or for watering with a spray lance or small sprinkler. The pump is fully submersible (watertight) and designed to be immersed in water (maximum immersion depth, see 7. TECHNICAL DATA). The battery pack (consisting of the battery and its receptacle) must not be immersed. The product is not suitable for continuous operation.

DANGER! Do not pump: salt water, contaminated water, corrosive products, easily flammable or explosive materials (e.g., petrol, fuel, thinner), greasy or food materials.

General Safety Instructions

Electrical Safety

DANGER! Electric Shock! Risk of injury from electric shock. The product must be supplied with current via a residual current device (RCD) with a nominal tripping current of maximum 30 mA.
  • Water temperature must not exceed 35 °C.
  • The pump cannot be used when people are in the water.
  • The pumped liquid may be contaminated by lubricant leakage.

Circuit Breaker

  • Water shortage safety: The pump switches off automatically if there is no more water discharge (low current). ➔ Immerse the pump deeper in the water.
  • Blockage safety: The pump switches off automatically if the motor is blocked (overcurrent). ➔ Contact GARDENA After-Sales Service.

Safe Handling of Batteries

DANGER! Fire Hazard!
  • During charging, the battery must be on a non-flammable, heat-resistant, non-conductive surface.
  • Do not short-circuit the connectors.
  • Keep corrosive or easily flammable objects away from the charger and battery.
  • Do not cover the charger and battery during charging.
  • In case of smoke or fire, immediately disconnect the charger from the power supply.
  • Only use the original GARDENA charger to charge the battery. Using other chargers can cause irreparable damage to the batteries or even trigger a fire.
  • For GARDENA battery products, use only original GARDENA batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries from other manufacturers. Risk of fire and explosion!
  • In case of fire: extinguish flames with oxygen-depleting extinguishing agents.
DANGER! Explosion Hazard!
  • Protect batteries from heat and fire. Do not place batteries on radiators or expose them to strong sunlight for a long time.
  • Do not use them in explosive atmospheres, e.g., near flammable liquids, gases, or accumulations of flammable dust. Using batteries can cause sparks that may ignite dust or vapors.
  • Check the replacement battery before each use. Visually inspect the battery before each use. A non-functional battery must be disposed of properly. Do not send it by post. You can get more information from your local recycling company.
  • Do not use the battery as another power source for other products. Risk of injury. Use the battery exclusively for the intended GARDENA products.
  • Charge and use the battery exclusively at ambient temperatures between 0 °C and 40 °C. After long use, let the battery cool down.
  • Regularly check the charging cable for signs of damage and aging (brittleness). Use the cable only in perfect condition.
  • Never store or transport the battery at temperatures above 45 °C or directly in sunlight. The battery should ideally be stored at temperatures below 25 °C to keep self-discharge low.
  • Do not expose the battery to rain or humidity. The risk of electric shock increases if water gets into the battery.
