Boundary Wire Installation Guidelines
The following guidelines ensure optimal performance and safety when installing the boundary wire:
- Maintain a minimum distance of 12 inches (approx. 30 cm) from lawn edges, obstacles, and paths.
- Clear lawn areas of small rocks (less than 4 inches high) and stones with round or sloped edges. Larger rocks or those that might cause the mower to get stuck require exclusion with the boundary wire.
- For trees with exposed roots lower than 4 inches, use the boundary wire to exclude the area to protect the mower's blades and wheels.
- The Robotic Mower can navigate slopes up to a maximum of 40% incline or decline.
- The boundary wire should not be placed perpendicular to inclines exceeding 10%. Maintain a strip of at least 6.5 feet (approx. 2 meters) between slopes of 10% or steeper and the boundary wire to prevent the mower from going over the wire, especially on wet ground.
- For paths, driveways, or roads, allow a safety distance of 12 inches (approx. 30 cm) between the driveway and the boundary wire. If a driveway is elevated, it is recommended to keep it outside the mowing area.
- If creating a boundary corridor for access (e.g., to a driveway), ensure it is at least 6.5 feet wide and a maximum of 26 feet long.
- When installing boundary wire around flowerbeds, two options exist: keep wires more than 2 inches apart (mower treats as an obstacle) or less than 2 inches apart (mower crosses, requires an obstacle on the wire).
- Exclude ponds and pools from the cutting area. A fence around pools is recommended for added safety.
- When installing pegs for the boundary wire, maintain approximately 30 inches (approx. 75 cm) spacing in straight lines, and less in tight curves. Ensure pegs' hooks and wire slits face outwards from the boundary.
- For neighbors using similar mowers, maintain a distance of at least 20 inches (approx. 50 cm) between boundary wires and position docking stations at least 33 feet (approx. 10 meters) apart. Use different signal settings (S1/S2) if necessary.

Assembly and Installation
This chapter explains how to install the Robotic Mower. Please read this completely before starting.
Introduction
Create a drawing of your lawn, including obstacles, to plan the docking station position and boundary wire layout. Tools needed: hammer, wire cutters, pliers, or scissors.
Pre-Cut Your Lawn
Prepare your lawn by pre-cutting it to a height of 2.5 inches.
Cutting Limitations
The mower uses collision sensors to detect rigid obstacles over 4 inches high (walls, fences, furniture). Upon detection, it stops, backs up, and changes direction. For long-term solutions, lay the boundary wire to protect obstacles. Ensure the mower is never more than 65 feet from the boundary wire.
Trees
Treat trees as obstacles. If tree roots are exposed and lower than 4 inches, exclude this area with the boundary wire to protect the roots, blades, or rear wheels.
Stones
Clear small rocks (under 4 inches) and stones with round or sloped edges. The mower might try to climb such rocks, leading to it getting stuck and requiring user intervention. Contact with stones can damage the blades.
Slopes
The mower can navigate slopes up to 40% incline/decline. The boundary wire should not be perpendicular to inclines over 10%. Leave at least 6.5 feet between slopes of 10% or steeper and the boundary wire.
Paths, Driveways and Roads
If an elevated driveway crosses your lawn, keep it outside the boundary wire. Allow a 12-inch safety distance between the driveway and the boundary wire.
Driveway Crossing
If the driveway and lawn are at the same level, use the boundary wire to create a corridor for the mower to cross.
Uneven Lawn Surfaces
Uneven lawn areas can cause blades to touch the ground. Level the lawn or exclude uneven areas with the boundary wire.
Placing the Docking Station
Choose a location with a permanent mains connection, considering the nearest power outlet. Ensure 5 feet of straight wire to the front and 12 inches to the side of the docking station facing the cutting area for smooth return. A shaded location is beneficial for battery charging. Place the station on an even, flat surface away from ponds, pools, or stairs. Consider protection from elements (e.g., robot port or garage). Avoid placing too close to slopes. Ensure left and right inclination does not exceed 5 degrees.
Pegging Your Boundary Wire
Mow the lawn to 2.5 inches or less before laying the boundary wire. Burying the wire is optional; closer placement to the ground reduces tripping hazards. Use the included ruler for the 12-inch distance from obstacles. The recommended distance between pegs is about 30 inches in straight lines, less in curves. Ensure pegs' hooks and wire slits face outwards. Do not drive pegs fully into the ground initially; use a light hammer. Locate pegs at approximate distances from lawn edges (12 inches) and obstacles.
Flowerbeds
Use boundary wire to exclude flowerbeds. Options:
- Keep parallel wires more than 2 inches apart: The mower recognizes it as an obstacle and bounces off.
- Keep parallel wires less than 2 inches apart (do not cross wires): The mower crosses. Requires an obstacle (e.g., rock, pole) near position A, surrounded by a 3.3 ft x 3.3 ft flat area, to allow the machine to exit the circle.
Ponds and Pools
Exclude any pools from the cutting area. Submersion can severely damage electronic parts. A fence around pools is recommended.
Inventory and Garage
If a boundary corridor is created, it should be at least 6.5 feet wide and a maximum of 26 feet long. If too narrow or long, the mower may not navigate it.
Connect the Docking Station to the Boundary Wire
Run the boundary wire under the front of the docking station. Connect one end to the left (black) 'F' connector and the other end to the right (red) 'B' connector. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed socket. The blue LED confirms connection. Test the mower's function. Check the LED regularly. Place the mower near the docking station, set the main power switch to ON, and check the S1 signal. Press the unlock button (4 times) to unlock the panel.
After docking, the display shows "Charging", and S1/S2 indicators flash alternately. The mower remains in the station until fully charged. Secure pegs fully once docking is confirmed.
Neighboring Mowers
To prevent interference with neighbors' mowers, maintain a 20-inch distance between boundary wires and position docking stations at least 33 feet apart. Use different signal settings (S1 or S2) if necessary. Press the "signal" button on the charging station to switch to S2, then press the "S2" button on the control panel.
Signal Selection: The default signal is S1. Change to S2 if neighbor's signal causes interference.
