Choosing the Right Coffee Grinds
For best results:
- Use freshly ground, deeply roasted coffee beans.
- Pre-ground coffee retains aroma for 7-8 days when stored properly.
- Ground coffee stored in a sealed container in a cool place lasts longer. Do not refrigerate or freeze ground coffee.
- Freshly ground beans retain aroma and provide higher quality coffee.
- Grind consistency is crucial for espresso. A correct grind resembles salt.
- Too fine a grind may cause intermittent flow or failure to brew.
- Too coarse a grind leads to fast water flow, affecting aroma and taste.
- Adjust grind coarseness using the coffee bean hopper knob. The ideal setting varies by bean type and quality.
- For freshly roasted beans (within 1 month), set grinding between 5-10.
- The Double-Cup (Grind) setting yields approximately 0.67 oz (19 g) of coffee, and Single-Cup (Grind) yields about 0.46 oz (13 g).
- Do not overfill the bean hopper to prevent moisture buildup.
- Adjust grinding settings for uniform grinds and high-quality coffee.
