How to Use
For BOYA mini-12 Package to BOYA mini-17 Package and BOYA mini-23 Package:
- The transmitter(s) will automatically turn on as soon as they are removed from the charging case. The transmitter(s) can be attached to clothing via the belt clip.
- Plug the Lightning connector into an iOS Lightning device or the USB-C connector into a USB-C device.
- The transmitter(s) and receiver are pre-paired before leaving the factory. Therefore, they will pair as soon as they are powered on. Their indicators will light up solid blue when successfully paired.
If they become disconnected, follow these steps:
- Press and hold the NR button (Noise Reduction) on the receiver for 5 seconds until the indicator flashes blue quickly to enter pairing mode.
- Press and hold the transmitter's Power button for 5 seconds in shutdown mode until the indicator flashes blue quickly to enter pairing mode.
- The transmitter and receiver are successfully paired when their indicators light up solid blue.
- Start a video or audio recording app.
- Some phones may use the built-in microphone by default, so you may need to switch to the external microphone (BOYA mini) in the recording app.
For the BOYA mini-18 Package:
- The transmitter(s) and the 3.5mm TRS receiver will automatically turn on as soon as they are removed from the charging case.
- Pair the transmitter with the receiver:
- Turn off the receiver, press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds until Indicator 1 and Indicator 2 flash blue quickly to enter pairing mode.
- With the transmitter(s) turned off, press and hold the Power/On-Off button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes blue quickly to activate pairing mode.
- The transmitter 1 and receiver are successfully paired when the receiver's Indicator 1 and the transmitter's Indicator Vs both light up solid blue. Similarly, Transmitter 2 and Receiver are successfully paired when Receiver's Indicator 2 and Transmitter 2's indicator light up solid blue.
- Attach the transmitter(s) to clothing using the belt clip.
- Using the Receiver:
- Using with a Camera: Connect the 3.5mm TRS output of the receiver with the included 3.5mm TRS-to-TRS audio cable to a camera's microphone input. Refer to the camera's user manual to start recording. The sound recorded by the transmitter will then be transmitted to the camera.
- Using with a Phone: The receiver can also be connected to a phone via the USB-C data port using a compatible data cable (not included) to transfer the transmitter's audio to the phone. Start a video or audio recording app on your phone to begin recording. Some phones may use the built-in microphone by default, so you may need to switch to the external microphone (BOYA mini) in the recording app.
For the BOYA mini-19 Package:
This package includes 3 types of receivers: Lightning, USB-C, and 3.5mm TRS receivers, giving you more options for outputting sound to a phone or camera. If you wish to output sound to a phone using the Lightning or USB-C receiver, follow the instructions for the "BOYA mini-12 Package to BOYA mini-17 Package" above. If you wish to output sound to a camera using the 3.5mm TRS receiver, follow the instructions for the "BOYA mini-18 Package" above.
Tips:
- It is recommended to make a test recording and play it back to ensure the audio level is acceptable for the recording.
- To improve recording in noisy environments, it is recommended to press the transmitter's Power button to activate noise reduction (this function is activated or deactivated simultaneously for both transmitters). You can also operate the receiver to select an optimal noise reduction level.
- Place the device back into the charging case for charging after recording.
Note: Due to the 2.4 GHz wireless frequency, signals can be slightly attenuated. Please try to avoid obstacles such as walls and buildings, and avoid proximity to devices with 2.4 GHz signals, such as high-power WLAN antennas, radios, etc.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter problems using the device, please follow the checklist below first. If the problem cannot be resolved, please contact the dealer's after-sales service.
- No sound from the device or no sound when connected to an external device: Ensure the connection on the receiver is properly connected to your device.
- The device's operating range is limited and the sound is often interrupted: Ensure there are no interferences between the transmitter and the receiver. If frequent, interrupted sounds persist, please contact our customer service.
- The charging case does not charge the device:
- Ensure the charging contacts are in full contact. Wipe the charging contacts with a clean cloth and try again.
- To check if the magnetic force is weakening or if the charging contacts are not making sufficient contact, press the device down in the charging case until the charging contacts are in full contact to see if it charges. If the device still does not charge, please contact our customer service.
