Connect, Charge and Power On the Baby Monitor

1. Connect the parent unit and baby unit to the supplied adapters and mains supply.
2. Slide the ON/OFF switch on the baby unit to the left to power it on.
3. The parent unit turns on automatically when connected to power.

Note: Please peel off the lens/screen protector before use. Charge the parent unit battery before use. The baby unit may get warm during use, which is normal.

How the System Works

The baby monitor operates in two modes:

• Direct Mode: The parent unit and baby unit connect directly to each other out of the box. Signal strength may be reduced by distance or obstructions like walls. Raise the parent unit antenna for optimal reception.
• Wi-Fi Mode: Connects to your home 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for remote monitoring via the MyVTech Baby Plus mobile app. This mode also enables product software updates.

To receive product firmware updates, the baby monitor requires a connection to a 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network.

Baby Unit Overview

1. Microphone: Captures sound.

2. Camera Lens: Captures video.

3. Light Sensor: Detects ambient light.

4. LED Indicators: Show connection status (Orange for direct connection, Green for Wi-Fi connection). Can be turned on/off via the app.

5. Infrared LEDs: Enable night vision.

6. ON/OFF Switch: Powers the baby unit on/off.

7. Antenna: For signal transmission.

8. Speaker: Outputs sound.

9. Temperature Sensor: Monitors room temperature.

10. Power Jack: For connecting the power adapter.

11. Wall Mount Slots: For attaching the wall mount bracket.

12. Pair/Reset Button: Used for pairing and resetting the baby unit.

Parent Unit Overview

1. LED Light: Indicates power status and battery charging.

2. LINK LED Light: Indicates connection status with the baby unit.

3. LED Light: Indicates if the parent unit speaker is muted or if it's in talk mode.

4. TALK LED Light: Indicates when the parent unit is transmitting audio.

5. LCD Display: Shows video feed and menu options.

6. Microphone: Captures audio input.

7. LCD ON/OFF: Turns the parent unit screen on or off.

8. POWER: Powers the parent unit on or off.

9. Lullaby: Accesses the lullaby menu.

10. TALK/: Press and hold to talk to the baby unit. Press to exit submenus.

11. Arrow Keys: Navigate menus and control camera pan/tilt.

12. MENU/SELECT: Opens the main menu and confirms selections.

13. Zoom in / Zoom out: Adjusts the video zoom level.

14. VOL-/ VOL+: Adjusts the parent unit volume.

15. Speaker: Outputs audio.

16. Power Jack: For connecting the power adapter.

17. Antenna: For signal reception.

18. RESET: Force reboots the parent unit.

19. Stand: Supports the parent unit.

Download App for Mobile Access

Use the MyVTech Baby Plus app on your mobile phone for remote monitoring.

1. Scan the QR code or search "MyVTech Baby Plus" on the App Store or Google Play Store to download the app.
2. Launch the app and create an account.
3. Activate your account via email verification.
4. Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with Bluetooth and Location Services enabled.
5. On the parent unit, navigate to MENU > Connect to Mobile App to display a QR code.
6. Scan the parent unit's QR code with the mobile app.
7. Enter your Wi-Fi password.
8. Press and hold the pair key on the baby unit for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode.
9. Select the camera model in the app and wait for connection.
10. Create a baby profile (optional).

Minimum Requirements: Android 9.0 or later; iOS 14 or later.

Camera Sharing: Invite family members to access the camera via the app's Camera Sharing feature.

Test the Sound Level and Position the Baby Monitor

• Place the baby unit more than 3 feet (1 meter) away from your baby.
• Adjust the baby unit's angle to aim the camera at your baby.
• To avoid feedback noise, ensure the parent unit and baby unit are more than 10 feet (3 meters) apart, or lower the parent unit volume.
• For Wi-Fi mode, test Wi-Fi signal strength in the desired location for the baby unit. Adjust placement or router distance as needed.

Note: Keep the baby unit out of the baby's reach. Never place the baby unit inside the crib or playpen.

Night Vision

The baby unit has infrared LEDs that activate automatically in low light conditions, providing a black and white image on the parent unit screen. A click sound is normal when the unit switches between day and night vision.

Status Icons

• Signal Strength: Indicated by signal icons. Red bars indicate no connection.
• Monitoring Mode Icons: Indicate Patrol mode (VM901-2HD only) or Split screen mode (VM901-2HD only).
• Night Vision: Indicates night vision is active.
• Motion Detection: Indicates motion detection is active.
• Melodies: Indicates melodies or soothing sounds are playing.
• Temperature Alert: Indicates temperature alert is active.
• Muted: Indicates the parent unit is muted.
• Temperature: Displays the temperature measured at the baby unit.

Main Menu Options

• Monitoring Mode: View baby units in Single, Patrol, or Split screen mode.
• Melodies and Soothing Sounds: Play melodies and sounds.
• Camera Volume: Adjust baby unit speaker volume.
• Timer: Set a timer for melodies/sounds.
• General Settings: Connect to Mobile App, adjust Camera Volume, Screen Brightness, Screen Off Timer, Temperature Format, Time Settings, Reset Settings, Software Update.
• Alerts Settings: Adjust alert tone volume, Motion Detect (sensitivity and on/off), Temperature alerts (limits and on/off), Low Battery alert, Lost Link alert.
• Help and Info: Access Support Information, How-to Videos, and System Information.

Important Safety Instructions

Follow all warnings and instructions. Adult setup is required. Do not install the baby unit higher than 6.5 feet (2 meters). This product is an aid and not a substitute for responsible adult supervision. Do not use near water. Use only supplied power adapters and batteries. Keep cords away from children. Periodically check components for damage. Test sound reception regularly. Protect your privacy by resetting the baby monitor periodically and powering it off when not in use.

Cautions: Operate between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C). Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Keep away from other electronic devices that may cause interference.

Pacemaker Precautions: Keep wireless devices at least six inches from pacemakers. Do not place wireless devices directly over a pacemaker when turned on.

Electromagnetic Fields (EMF): This VTech product complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields.

General Product Care

• Avoid placing near heating appliances or devices that generate electrical noise.
• Do not expose to direct sunlight or moisture.
• Avoid dropping or rough handling.
• Clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.
• Do not use solvents or harsh cleaners.
• Ensure units are dry before reconnecting to power.
• Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Q: Can I turn the parent unit display screen off but keep hearing sounds?
  A: Yes, press POWER | LCD ON/OFF. Press any key to turn the screen back on.
• Q: Why is the baby unit not responding normally?
  A: Disconnect power, wait a few minutes, then reconnect. Reboot the parent unit.
• Q: Why is my screen in black and white?
  A: The baby unit automatically activates infrared LEDs in low light for night vision.
• Q: Why does my baby unit show offline or lose connection?
  A: Check your Wi-Fi network and router settings. Install the baby unit away from other electronic devices that may cause interference.
• Q: Why can’t I hear a sound?
  A: The parent unit speaker volume may be too low. Press the VOL+ button to increase it.

Limited Warranty

VTech warrants the product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase (90 days for refurbished products). This warranty covers replacement of defective products. It does not cover misuse, accidents, unauthorized repairs, or damage caused by external factors.
