Preparation for Use
Unpacking and Setup
Remove radio from carton, save packing material. Remove descriptive labels. Place on a level surface away from direct sunlight, heat, dust, moisture, and vibration. Unwind AC adapter cord fully (FM antenna is built-in). Protect furniture with felt pads under rubber feet.
Power Source
Operates on 120V 60Hz AC power only. Connect to a 'live' AC outlet; do not use a wall switch-controlled outlet. The built-in lithium battery maintains time and alarm settings during power interruptions.
Location of Controls and Indicators
The device features controls and indicators on the Front Panel and Top Panel. Key indicators include Alarm 1/2 Buzzer/Radio indicators, AM indicator, Time/Date Display, Low Battery ⚠️ Indicator, and the AC adapter port. Operating Instructions
Setting the Time (First Time)
Upon first connection to AC power, the clock automatically sets to the Eastern Time Zone. To change time zones, press and hold the TIME ZONE button and use SET + or SET - buttons to select the desired zone (e.g., Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Yukon, Hawaiian). The clock will then display the correct time for the selected zone.
Date Display
Press the MONTH/DATE button to view the Month and Date (MM/DD).
Year Display
Press MONTH/DATE and TIME buttons together to view the Year.
'Day of Week' Display
When the radio/buzzer is off, press the WEEK button to view the Day of Week ([Monday-Sunday]). If radio/buzzer is on, turn it off first.
Daylight Saving and Leap Year Adjustments
Automatic adjustments for DST and Leap Year are handled by the SmartSet internal computer.
Manual Time Adjustments
To manually adjust time, press and hold the TIME button, then use SET + or SET - buttons to advance or rewind the time by one minute per press. Holding the buttons adjusts time more rapidly.
Adjusting Wake Up Times
Set Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 by pressing and holding the respective ALARM button, then using SET + or SET - to adjust the wake-up time. Observe the AM indicator for correct AM/PM setting.
Selecting the Alarm Week Mode
Choose between Everyday ([Everyday Mode]), Weekdays only ([Weekdays Mode]), or Weekends only ([Weekends Mode]) for each alarm. Press the ALARM button to check the current mode, and press the WEEK/ALARM MODE button while holding the ALARM button to change it.
Listening to Radio
Press RADIO ON/OFF. Select AM or FM band using the BAND button (often combined with TIME button). Adjust VOLUME using VOLUME +/-, and tune stations using TUNE +/- or Auto Station Seeking by pressing and holding TUNE +/-.

Press ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 until the "BUZZER" indicator is lit. The buzzer will sound at the set time and shut off automatically after one hour, or can be stopped by pressing RADIO ON/OFF. The alarm will repeat the next day unless turned off.
Radio and Buzzer Operation
Alarms can be set to wake to radio or buzzer. Use SNOOZE/[Snooze Icon] button to pause alarm for 9 minutes (repeats up to one hour).
Sleep To Music Timer
Press SLEEP button. The display shows the sleep timer duration (default 10 minutes). Use SET + or SET - while holding SLEEP to adjust timer (02-90 minutes). Press SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF to cancel.
4-Level Dimmer Control
Press SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF/DIMMER button in standby mode to cycle through dimmer levels.
Changing the Lithium Battery
When the "Low Battery ⚠️" indicator flashes, replace the CR2032 lithium battery. Leave AC adapter connected. Remove the battery holder screw, replace the battery observing polarity ([Positive Terminal]), reinsert holder, and replace screw. Confirm "Low Battery ⚠️" indicator is off.
Resetting the Clock After a Total Memory Loss
If the lithium battery is exhausted and power is interrupted, the clock may reset to default. Install a new lithium battery. Connect to AC power. Press MONTH/DATE and TIME buttons together, use SET + to set Year. Press MONTH/DATE, use SET + to set Month/Date (Day of Week adjusts automatically). Press TIME and SET + to set the correct Time (AM/PM). Reconfirm all settings.
