Installation Instructions
[warning] Before beginning installation, read these instructions carefully.
This kit requires an aftermarket amplifier with the speaker wires routed to this location. Following this step, install the speakers. Connect the speakers using the previously installed speaker wires, and in the same line, attach the tweeters. Additionally, incorporate a bass blocker filter for the tweeters. If RGB LED speakers are being used, refer to the RGB LED module's manual for proper connection.
Secure the speakers using stainless steel screws and tighten them, being careful not to over-tighten or the hole may be damaged and not properly secure the speakers.
Passenger Side Installation
Step 1: Focusing on the passenger side, use a T25 TORX socket to remove the factory rear deck hump. Extract the (2) screws located on the front bottom of the piece, then gently pull towards the front to detach. (Diagram 1: Shows a T25 TORX socket removing two screws from the rear deck hump, with arrows indicating pulling the component forward.)
Step 2: Proceed by removing the factory rear hoop accent. Start by using a T40 TORX socket to extract the (2) screws located at the bottom of the piece. Then, utilize a T25 TORX socket to remove the (2) screws positioned at the top of the piece. Gently pull the accent towards the front. Then, use the T40 TORX socket to extract the (2) screws located at the back of the piece, and pull it towards the back to fully detach it. (Diagram 2: Depicts using T40 and T25 TORX sockets to remove screws from the rear hoop accent, followed by pulling the piece forward and then backward to detach.)
Step 3: Install the new speaker pod following the same procedure used to remove the factory component. Position the pod in place and secure it using the factory T25 bolts located on the front bottom of the piece. (Diagram 3: Shows the new speaker pod being positioned and secured with T25 bolts.)
Step 4: Re-install the rear hoop accent following the reverse procedure of the removal. Ensure the accent is positioned correctly, then secure it by reattaching the screws in the same locations as before. (Diagram 4: Illustrates re-installing the rear hoop accent and securing it with screws.)
This concludes the passenger side installation of the SLG-HD6V2 pod. Let's move on to the driver side.
Driver Side Installation
Step 5: Begin by removing the factory rear hoop accent. Use a T40 TORX socket to extract the (2) screws located at the bottom of the piece. Then, utilize a T25 TORX socket to remove the (2) screws positioned at the top of the piece. Pull the accent towards the front. Then, use the T40 TORX socket to extract the (2) screws located at the back of the piece, and pull it towards the back to fully detach it. (Diagram 5: Shows the removal of the driver side rear hoop accent using T40 and T25 TORX sockets.)
Step 6: To remove the factory rear deck hump, start by using a T25 TORX socket to extract the (2) screws located on the front bottom of the piece. Next, remove the gas cap. Then, using oversized pliers, carefully unscrew the Ring-Nut that holds the gas tube in place. Once the Ring-Nut is removed, you can pull out the piece. (Diagram 6: Depicts removing screws, the gas cap, and unscrewing a Ring-Nut with pliers to remove the rear deck hump.)
Step 7: Now, carefully slide the new speaker pod in place and secure it using the factory T25 bolts on the front bottom of the piece, then re-install the Ring-Nut and the gas cap. (Diagram 7: Shows the new speaker pod being installed and secured, followed by re-installing the Ring-Nut and gas cap.)
Step 8: Re-install the rear hoop accent following the reverse process of removal. Ensure that the accent is aligned correctly, then use the appropriate screws and sockets to secure it back into place. (Diagram 8: Illustrates re-installing the rear hoop accent and securing it.)
This concludes the installation of the SLG-HD6V2, and now you are ready to enjoy your new sound system upgrade!
