What's Included with the Minx MIN22?
The package contains the following items:
- 1 x MIN22 Compact Speaker
- 1 x Quick Start Guide
- 1 x Keyhole Bracket
- 4 x Transparent Pads
Front Panel
The front of the Minx MIN22 features two 2.25-inch BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drivers, responsible for producing sound.
Rear Panel
The rear panel of the speaker is equipped with a mounting screw thread for attaching accessories and +/- speaker connection terminals for connecting to an amplifier.
Installation Instructions
- Connect the speaker terminals to the corresponding outputs on your amplifier, ensuring correct polarity (matching colour coding). Unscrew the terminal ends, insert the speaker cable, and secure it. The connected terminals can then be fitted into the rear of the MIN22.
- For wall mounting, attach the included keyhole bracket to the rear of the speaker using the provided mounting screw.
- Alternative mounting solutions are available, including a pivoting wall mount, a desk stand, and a floor stand.
Suggested Setups
The Minx MIN22 speakers are versatile and can be integrated into various audio setups, such as 2.1, 5.1, or 7.1 surround sound systems. They can be used alongside other Minx series products like the MIN12 speakers and the X201 subwoofer.
For optimal TV and film viewing, position the MIN22 speakers either above or below your screen, angled towards the listener.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is meant by speaker sensitivity?
Speaker sensitivity measures the sound level a speaker produces at one meter with one watt of power from an amplifier. It indicates how efficiently a speaker converts electrical energy into acoustic energy. A higher dB SPL rating means a louder speaker; for example, a 90dB speaker is significantly louder than an 87dB speaker, as every 3dB increase roughly doubles the power output.
What is a crossover?
A crossover is an electronic circuit within a loudspeaker that divides the audio signal into different frequency bands. This allows specific drivers (e.g., woofers for low frequencies, tweeters for high frequencies) to reproduce the appropriate parts of the audio spectrum, optimizing sound quality.
What is impedance?
Impedance, measured in Ohms (Ω), is the electrical resistance a speaker presents to an amplifier. It's crucial for system matching, as it affects the power output of the amplifier. For instance, an amplifier rated for 100W into an 8Ω load may need to supply 200W into a 4Ω load. Mismatching impedance can lead to amplifier overheating or damage. Always consult amplifier and speaker specifications.
Troubleshooting
No sound through one or both channels.
- Check that the amplifier is turned on.
- Ensure the correct input source is selected on the amplifier.
- Confirm all connections between the amplifier and loudspeakers are secure.
- Check connections between the source equipment and amplifier are secure.
- Verify the polarity of the loudspeaker connections.
- Ensure the volume control is set correctly on the amplifier.
There is distorted or inconsistent sound.
- Confirm all connections between the amplifier and loudspeakers are secure.
- Check the polarity of the loudspeaker connections.
- Confirm that the connections between the source equipment and amplifier are secure.
