Quick Start Guide
Introduction
This document provides a quick start guide for the dormakaba Axessor Apexx Keypad, a secure and versatile access control device.
Keypad Overview:
- Front View: Features a digital display screen at the top and a numeric keypad below. The keypad includes directional arrows integrated within the number buttons.
- Side/Bottom View: Shows the USB-C port for connectivity and a button for accessing the battery compartment.
Drill-Deburr-Tap Templates: These templates provide precise outlines for drilling the necessary holes in a safe door for both the keypad and the lock mechanism.
Installation
Preparation (Drilling)
Step 1: Drill Keypad Holes - Use the provided template to drill the required holes for the Axessor Apexx Keypad on the safe door.
Step 2: Drill Lock Holes - Use the provided template to drill the required holes for the Apexx Series Lock on the safe door.
Assembly
Step 3: Remove Screw - Locate and remove the securing screw from the keypad unit.
Step 4: Press Button - Press the button on the keypad unit.
Step 5: Lift + Separate - Separate the keypad into its faceplate and baseplate components.
Component Assembly:
The following components are used for installation:
- Axessor Apexx Keypad (Faceplate)
- Axessor Apexx Keypad (Baseplate)
- Drill Protection Plate
- Relocker Plate
- Apexx Series Lock
Fasteners:
- x2 Metric M4-07 or US Customary Unit #8-32 screws (for attaching keypad to door)
- x3 Metric M6 or US Customary Unit #1/4-20 screws (for mounting the lock mechanism)
- x2 US Customary Unit #6-32 screws (for attaching the relocker plate)
Assembly Sequence:
- Attach the Drill Protection Plate to the safe door.
- Mount the Apexx Series Lock onto the door, aligning it with the drilled holes.
- Secure the lock mechanism using the appropriate screws (e.g., M6 or 1/4-20).
- Attach the Relocker Plate using the #6-32 screws.
- Align and attach the Axessor Apexx Keypad Baseplate to the door.
- Connect the Keypad Faceplate to the Baseplate.
Battery Installation: Ensure the Inside Faceplate compartment is loaded with 4 AA Batteries.
Basic Functions
1. Install First Lock and Create Admin User
Step 1: System Check - The system checks for connected items.
Step 2: New Device - Displays device information (e.g., MCU4567890123456789).
Step 3: Enter Admin ID - Input a new Administrator ID (1-10 numbers).
Step 4: Set PIN Length - Choose PIN length (e.g., 6, 7, 11, 12) and Save.
Step 5: Enter Admin PIN - Input the new Administrator PIN (6 numbers).
Step 6: Confirm Admin PIN - Re-enter the Administrator PIN.
Step 7: Select Group - Choose a group (e.g., GROUP 1, GROUP 2).
Step 8: Enter Lock Number - Input the lock number (1-16).
Step 9: Success - Administrator Setup Success is confirmed.
2. Add User
Step 1: Enter ID - Input the User ID (1-10 numbers).
Step 2: Enter PIN - Input the User PIN (X numbers).
Step 3: Add User - Select 'Add User' from the options (User Status, Edit User).
Step 4: Confirm New PIN - Re-enter the User PIN.
Step 5: Select Role - Choose a role (Administrator, Manager, User).
Step 6: Select Group - Choose a group (e.g., GROUP 1/Name, GROUP 2/Name).
Step 7: Next - Proceed to the next step.
Step 8: User Information - Options include ID Info, Role Info, Group Info, Lock Info.
3. Set Time Delay
Step 1: Enter ID - Input the User ID.
Step 2: Enter PIN - Input the User PIN.
Step 3: Select Lock - Choose a lock (e.g., Lock 01).
Step 4: Set Delay - Enter the Time Delay (e.g., 50 m, 0-255 minutes).
Step 5: Next - Confirm the setting.
4. Change PIN
Step 1: Enter ID - Input the User ID.
Step 2: Enter PIN - Input the current PIN.
Step 3: Enter New PIN - Input the new PIN (X numbers).
Step 4: Confirm New PIN - Re-enter the new PIN.
Step 5: Success - PIN Change Success is displayed.
5. Open Lock
Step 1: Select User - Choose a user from the list (e.g., 01 Name, 02 Name).
Step 2: Enter ID - Input the User ID.
Step 3: Enter PIN - Input the User PIN.
6. System Info Menu
Access the System Info Menu to view:
- Date and Time (e.g., 12:30 PM 11-11-1111)
- Battery Status (e.g., 100%)
- Software Version (SW: 111.111.111)
- Firmware Version (FW: 111.111.111)
