It is the user's responsibility to check the following: Check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe before using. Inspect power supply leads, plugs and all electrical connections for wear and damage. Sealey recommend that an RCD (Residual Current Device) is used with all electrical products. If the product is used in the course of business duties, it must be maintained in a safe condition and routinely PAT (Portable Appliance Test) tested. Electrical safety information, it is important that the following information is read and understood. Ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power supply. Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure that they are secure. Important: Ensure that the voltage rating on the appliance suits the power supply to be used and that the plug is fitted with the correct fuse - see fuse rating in these instructions. DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable. DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable. Remove the plug from the socket by maintaining a firm grip on the plug. DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs or connectors. Ensure that any faulty item is repaired or replaced immediately by a qualified electrician. This product is fitted with a BS1363/A pin plug. If the cable or plug is damaged during use, switch the electricity supply and remove from use. Replace a damaged plug with a BS1363/A 3 pin plug. If in doubt contact a qualified electrician. Class II products are wired with live (brown) and neutral (blue) only, and are marked with the Class II symbol; A) Connect the BROWN live wire to the live terminal `L'. B) Connect the BLUE neutral wire to the neutral terminal `N'. C) After wiring, check that there are no bare wires and ensure that all wires have been correctly connected. Ensure that the cable outer sheath extends inside the cable restraint and that the restraint is tight. Recommended fuse rating DO NOT connect either wire to the earth terminal. 13 Amp Sealey recommend that repairs are carried out by a qualified electrician. GENERAL SAFETY Familiarise yourself with the applications and limitations of the fan heater. Keep away from flammable objects, materials and surfaces. This product gets very hot during use. Use in a location where accidental contact, particularly by children, is unlikely. Ensure the fan heater is set to the "OFF" position before connecting to the mains power supply. Ensure the fan heater is in good working order and condition before use. If in any doubt DO NOT use the fan heater and contact a qualified electrician. Keep tools and other items away from the fan heater when in use. Keep the area clean and clear of unnecessary items. Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the fan heater. Disconnect the fan heated from the mains and allow to cool before moving or attempting any cleaning. DO NOT get the fan heater wet or use in damp or wet locations or in areas where there is condensation. DO NOT remove the plug from the mains supply by pulling on the power cord. DO NOT move the fan heater whilst in operation or even while it is still warm. DO NOT disassemble the fan heater for any reason. Use an authorised service agent only. DO NOT use this product to perform a task for which it has not been designed. WARNING! If a fuse blows, ensure it is replaced with an identical fuse type and rating. If it blows again DO NOT use the fan heater Contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT place any object on the fan heater at any time. DO NOT leave unattended. When not in use, store the fan heater in a safe, dry childproof location. Should there be any damaged or missing parts contact your supplier immediately. Before use, ensure that you have read and understood Section 1 Safety Instructions. Position the fan heater and the tilt safety switch (fig 2 - 1) on a firm, dry horizontal surface, and plug into the mains power supply. FAN ONLY Rotate the thermostat control dial (fig 1 - 4) clockwise to the MAX position. This will operate the fan heater at full power. Rotate the heat selector dial (fig 1 - 1) clockwise, from the OFF position (fig 1 - 2) to the fan select position (fig 1 - 3). TURNING THE FAN ONLY OFF To turn the fan off, rotate the heat selector dial, anticlockwise, to the OFF position, and the thermostat control dial, to the MIN position. FAN HEATER Turn the thermostat control dial (fig 1 - 4) clockwise, until an audible click is heard. Keep turning the thermostat control dial to set the required room temperature cut off point. Rotate the heat selector dial (fig 1 - 1) clockwise, from the off position (fig 1 - 2) to the required power heating position. Low power heating position (fig 1- 5). High power heating position (fig 1 - 6). The fan heater will switch on when one of the power heating positions is selected. TURNING THE FAN HEATER OFF Rotate the thermostat control dial anticlockwise to the MIN position. Rotate the heat selector dial, anticlockwise, to the FAN position (fig 1 - 3). Allow the fan heater to cool down for approx. two minutes, then turn the heat selector dial to the OFF position. Remove the plug from the mains supply. TEMPERATURE CONTROL The fan heater is fitted with a thermostatic control which automatically turns the fan heater on and off to maintain the selected ambient room temperature. WARNING! When the heater is used for the first time it may emit a slight emission of smoke. This is normal and it will cease after a short time. TILT SAFETY SWITCH WARNING! If the fan heater is accidentally knocked over during use, the tilt safety switch (fig 2 - 1) will automatically turn the fan heater off. If this occurs, remove the plug from the mains supply, and turn the fan heater off as described in sections 4.3 and 4.5. TROUBLESHOOTING Fault Description Fan heater does not operate. Tilt safety switch is activated. Fan does not operate. Fan heater does not warm up. Suggested Solution Check power supply/fuse. Check that the fan heater is on a flat, level surface. Turn the heat selector dial to FAN. Turn the thermostat control dial to MAX. Turn the thermostat control dial to MAX. Turn the heat selector dial to the Low or High power heating position. 6. MAINTENANCE WARNING! Disconnect the fan heater from the mains and allow the fan heater to fully cool before attempting any cleaning or maintenance. 6.1. Clean the fan heater with a moist cloth and a mild detergent. 8 DO NOT use solvents to clean the fan heater. 6.2. Use a vacuum cleaner on the outside grille to clean dust from internal parts. ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations. WEEE REGULATIONS Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
