Know the earbuds

Appearance

The appearance diagram shows the HONOR Earbuds 3 Pro. The earbuds are depicted with indicators for Left (L) and Right (R). Labeled components include: 1. Air outlet, 2. Temperature sensor, 3. Charging pad, 4. Main microphone, 5. Secondary microphone, 6. Indicator light, 7. Function button, 8. USB-C port. The charging case is also shown, indicating its charging pad and indicator light.

Indicator light

You can tell the power level in the earbuds and the charging case by the indicator light. The charging case has an external indicator light. When one earbud is in the case, it shows the power of that earbud. When two are in the case, it shows the power of the one with lesser power. If neither is in the case, it shows the power of the case.

Take out your earbuds

Place your index finger in the groove, press your fingertip up against the earbuds and push it outward, and lift the headset with the help of your thumb.

Replace ear tips

Please consider the noise reduction effect and comfort level to replace the tips:

1. Pinch the earbud and the tip with your left and right hand respectively, gently remove the ear tip from the earbud.
2. Clean the dust and earwax from the mesh using a cotton swab or a soft brush.
3. Align the concave of the ear tip with the microphone nozzle and push firmly in the direction shown below.

Charge

Charge the charging case

Use the USB-C charging cable to charge the case, or place the case on a compatible wireless charger with the indicator light facing up.

• ? When the charging case is charging, the indicator light on it is always on, which indicates that the charging works fine.
• For best wireless charging efficiency, align the lower half of the back of the charging case (the highest wireless charging efficiency point) with the center of the wireless charger while charging. If the case is not placed properly, it may affect the charging efficiency or prevent the charging.
• During wireless charging, if the indicator light flashes abnormally or goes out, please readjust the position of the charging case until the indicator light is always on.
• To ensure efficient and safe charging, please use quality chargers and cables.

Charge the earbuds

Put the earbuds into the charging case and close the lid. The charging case automatically charges the earbuds.

The earbuds are not charged when the lid is open.

Shortcut operations

Touch controls

• Tap twice: Play/Pause music.
• Tap twice: Answer/End a call.
• Tap triple: Measuring temperature.
• Press and hold the earbud: Reject a call.
• Press and hold the earbud: Switch to noise cancellation mode.
• Swipe up: Turning up the volume.
• Swipe down: Turning down the volume.

? You can also customize shortcut operations in the HONOR AI Space app to suit your needs.

Pair and connect

Pair by Bluetooth

Rest the earbuds in the case, keep the lid open, and press the function button for 2 seconds. White light blinking indicates the earbuds enter the pairing mode.

? The first time you open the case lid, the earbuds enter the pairing mode automatically.

Restore factory settings: Rest the earbuds in the case, keep the lid open, and press the function button for 6 seconds. Red light blinking indicates the earbuds are restored to factory settings and the earbuds re-enter the pairing mode.

Discover nearby earbuds

Some phones/tablets (Magic UI 4.2 and above) can discover and connect to nearby earbuds.

1. Enable Bluetooth on the phone/tablet.
2. Turn on the earbuds/Open the lid of the case on the first use, or rest the earbuds in the case, keep the lid open, and press the function button for 2 seconds. White light blinking indicates the earbuds enter the pairing mode.
3. Keep the lid open and bring the case close to the phone/tablet. A connection window will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.

If the devices have been paired before, the earbuds will be automatically reconnected and a power level interface will pop up on the phone/tablet.

Dual connections

After the earbuds are connected to your phone/tablet, you can enable the dual connections in two ways:

1. Method 1: Turn on your phone/tablet (Magic UI 6.0 and above), go to Settings > Bluetooth > Paired devices, tap the ⚙️ button to the right of the earbuds name, select More settings, and turn on Dual-connect.
2. Method 2: Update the earbuds and the HONOR AI Space app to the latest version, open the app, go to the details page of the earbuds, open the Dual-connect page, and turn on Dual-connect.

Steps to connect

1. Enable the Dual-connect function, rest the earbuds in the case and keep the lid open, press the function button for 2 seconds. When you see the white light blinking, indicating the earbuds are in the pairing mode, search for the earbuds on device A and start pairing.
2. Keep the earbuds in the case and the lid open, press the function button again for 2 seconds to enter the pairing mode, and pair them with device B.
3. After device B is connected to the earbuds, the earbuds will automatically connect to device A, thus connecting to two devices at the same time.

If one of the devices is a watch and is connected to another device, the earbuds will not be able to connect to the watch.

Auto-reconnect

The earbuds can be used effectively for music and call up to 10 meters in an open and distraction-free environment.

Beyond the effective distance, the earbuds will stutter, become silent, or be disconnected. The earbuds will be automatically reconnected if returned to an effective distance (10m) in the required time. If the reconnection does not happen, please restart your phone/tablet's Bluetooth and reconnect the earbuds.

Basic operations

Noise control

After the earbuds are connected to the phone/tablet, you can reduce noise in any of the following ways:

1. Method 1: Press and hold the left/right earbuds to turn on or off the Noise canceling or Awareness function and switch the noise control modes according to voice prompts.
2. Method 2: Open the HONOR AI Space app, go to the details page of the earbuds, select Noise control, and enable or disable Noise canceling or Awareness.
3. Method 3: Turn on your phone/tablet (Magic UI 6.0 and above), go to Settings > Bluetooth > Paired devices, tap the ⚙️ button to the right of the earbuds name, select Noise control, and enable or disable the Noise canceling or Awareness function.

We recommend using properly sized ear tips and adjusting the wearing position, along with an ear tip fit test to ensure that the ear tips fit well in the ear canal for better sound quality and superior noise canceling.

Noise reduction works even if you only wear one earbud, but since the other ear is exposed to the environment, the noise canceling effect is limited. We recommend using both earbuds for better noise canceling.

When you start wearing one earbud, the off mode will be used by default. If you switch the mode to the "Noise canceling" or "Awareness" while wearing one earbud, the operation will not be saved and the last mode will be used when you wear two earbuds again.

Measure temperature

Single Measurement

Connect the earbuds to the phone/tablet and keep on wearing the earbuds; you can take a single temperature and get real-time temperature information in two ways:

1. Method 1: Triple-tap on the left/right earbud to start measuring, then the earbuds will report your temperature.
2. Method 2: Open the HONOR AI Space App, log in to HONOR ID, go to the earbuds details page, tap the ?️ measuring temperature icon to start measuring, then the earbuds will report your temperature.

? When you are on a call or when the voice assistant is woken up, you can take the temperature with three taps. The earbuds will not voice the temperature; you can check the temperature information through the HONOR AI Space App.

Periodic Measurement

Connect the earbuds to the phone/tablet, open the HONOR AI Space App, log in to HONOR ID, go to the earbuds details page, enable Periodic to view the recent temperature trend card.

You can enable Periodic Measurement in the following two ways:

1. Method 1: Tap Settings > Temperature monitoring, enable or disable Periodic.
2. Method 2: Open the Body temperature page, tap the Temperature monitoring, enable Periodic.

On the Body temperature page, you can view historical temperature data by hour, day, week, or month, and tap Detailed statistics to view all temperature data. You can also delete temperature data in bulk or long-press to delete single-day data.

High/Low Temperature Alert

On the Body temperature page, after enabling Periodic, you can turn on or off Periodic measurement alerts, customize temperature values for High temperature and Low temperature.

• ? Before measuring, please put on the earbuds and keep on wearing them for 5 minutes. Please make sure that there is no water, alcohol or other liquid in contact with the earbuds.
• Please wait 30 minutes before measuring when you are exercising, bathing, or switching between indoor and outdoor environments.
• To get more accurate data, before measuring, you are recommended to keep on wearing the earbuds for over 10 minutes at room temperature around 25°C and avoid measuring in direct sunlight, wind, and with cooling and heating sources.
• This product is not a medical device. The health data and recommendations provided are for reference only and cannot be used for diagnosis and treatment.

Add earbuds via App

Adding earbuds to HONOR AI Space allows you to manage your earbuds conveniently and access more functions and custom settings for a better audio experience.

Download and install HONOR AI Space

A QR code is provided for downloading and installing the latest version of the HONOR AI Space app from AppGallery.

Add earbuds via HONOR AI Space

1. Open HONOR AI Space and log in to HONOR ID.
2. Rest the earbuds in the case, keep the lid open, and press the function button for 2 seconds. White light blinking indicates the earbuds enter the pairing mode.
3. Enable Bluetooth on the phone/tablet. Tap + > Add devices in the upper right corner of the app home page.
4. When the earbuds are found, tap Connect to add.
5. When added, you can view the earbuds on the home page, learn about earbuds functions and change the settings.

? If the earbuds are not found, tap Add manually and follow the on-screen instructions to add manually.

Smart wear detection

The phone/tablet can detect if the earbuds are being worn and automatically pause the music or switch the audio device for the phone call.

After the earbuds are connected to your phone/tablet, you can enable or disable the Smart wear detection function in two ways:

1. Method 1: Open the HONOR AI Space app, tap Settings and enable or disable Smart wear detection.
2. Method 2: Turn on your Honor phone/tablet, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Paired devices, tap the ⚙️ button to the right of the earbuds name, go to More settings, and enable or disable the Wear detection function.

Update

How to update

After the earbuds are connected to the phone/tablet, you can update them in two ways:

1. Method 1: Update through the HONOR AI Space app.
   1. Open the HONOR AI Space app and go to the details page of the earbuds.
   2. Select Update at the very bottom and tap Check for updates. When prompted for a new version, you can download and install and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
2. Method 2: Update through Audio Product Manager.
   1. Turn on the Honor phone/tablet, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Paired devices, tap the ⚙️ behind the corresponding earbuds name to enter the Audio Product Manager page.
   2. Select Updates at the very bottom and tap Check for updates. When prompted for a new version, you can download and install and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

? Once the update is complete, open and close the lid to reconnect the earbuds to the phone/tablet.

Cleaning and maintenance

Clean and maintain your earbuds

For better product performance (e.g., sound quality, noise reduction, phone calls) and to prevent problems such as ear canal allergies, we recommend that you clean your earbuds regularly (1 week/time).

You can use alcohol or disinfectant to clean the surface of the earbuds. To prevent moisture or water ingress, do not use damp cloths on the ear tips, charging contacts or charging port, speaker mesh, air outlet, or microphones.

Clean the charging case, charging port, and charging contacts:

• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the charging case. If necessary, you can also wipe the external surface of the charging case with 70% alcohol. Make sure the charging case is dried naturally before putting the earbuds back.
• Use a clean, dry, soft-bristled brush to clean any crumbs from the charging port.
• Use a clean, dry, pointed cotton swab to gently wipe the surface of the charging contacts of the charging case.
• Do not use a damp cloth. Do not use excessive force when wiping to avoid deformation or surface damage to the contact points of the charging post inside the charging case.

? If your earbuds have been in contact with sweat, body wash, shampoo, or other liquids, or if worn during exercise, please make sure the surface of the earbuds and the charging contacts are clean and dry before putting the earbuds into the charging case.

Clean the air outlet and microphones:

Use a clean, dry, pointed cotton swab to gently brush out the dirt and earwax from the hole or mesh, then wipe clean with a soft cloth.

Clean the ear tips:

• Remove the ear tips from the earbuds and rinse with water/wipe with an alcohol-free cloth. Do not use soap or other household cleaners.
• Dry the ear tips with a clean, dry, soft cloth and put them back on the earbuds after they are completely dried.

Due to the irritating nature of the alcohol, please do not use alcohol-soaked cloths on the ear tips.

Health instructions

Healthy wear and use of the earbuds

When worn, earbuds remain in contact with your skin. If used properly, they will not only be more comfortable to wear, but will also give the best sound quality and noise canceling.

• If the earbuds come with a variety of ear tips or integrated ear supports, you can choose the appropriate ear tip to use. Use different ear tips for the left and right ear if one of the earbuds does not fit well.
• Using earbuds at a high volume for long periods of time may cause damage to your hearing. We recommend that you do not use your earbuds for more than 60 minutes at a time and that the volume does not exceed 60% of the maximum. Please remove your earbuds when sleeping.
• If irritating substances such as sweat, soapy water, or skincare products are attached to the surface of the earbuds, they cause skin irritation. We recommend that you keep your wireless earbuds and your skin dry and clean to prevent long-term damage to your earbuds.
• Try not to share the earbuds with others. When the ear tips are dirty or have been used continuously for a month, please remove them and wipe with a wet cloth or wash and dry with water to prevent bacteria growth.
• If you experience itching, redness, or other signs of irritation, we recommend that you immediately stop using and clean the earbuds, and observe whether your discomfort resolves spontaneously. If the discomfort is pronounced, we recommend that you consult your doctor before deciding whether to continue wearing the earbuds.
