Disposal of Old Appliance
DANGER! Risk of child entrapment. Before discarding your old refrigerator or freezer:
- Follow local requirements for appliance disposal. Discarded appliances can be dangerous.
- Remove the doors.
- Remove the freezer drawers.
- Leave shelves in place so children cannot climb inside.
- Cut off the power cable and discard it separately.
Contact your local trash collection agency for additional information.
Disposal of Carton
The packaging is designed to protect the appliance and is made of recyclable materials.
WARNING! Keep packaging materials away from children. Polythene sheets and bags can cause suffocation!
Please take the packaging material to your local recycling facility.
Important Safety Information
- To prevent injury or damage, the appliance should be unpacked and set up by two people.
- If the appliance is damaged on delivery, contact the supplier immediately before connecting to the power source.
- Ensure the appliance is set up and connected as described in these instructions for safe operation.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power source if a fault occurs by pulling the plug or turning off the fuse.
- When disconnecting, use the plug, not the cable.
- Repairs and work on the appliance should only be carried out by authorized customer service personnel.
- Do not eat ice cream or ice cubes directly from the freezer due to the risk of "burning".
- Do not consume food stored for too long, as it could cause food poisoning.
- The appliance is designed for cooling, freezing, storage of food, and making ice for domestic use.
- Do not store explosives or sprays with combustible propellants (e.g., butane, propane) in the appliance, as electrical components could ignite leaking gas.
- Do not use electrical appliances inside the appliance.
- Disconnect the power cord or turn off the circuit breaker before cleaning.
- Do not use steam cleaning equipment.
- Do not operate the appliance in the presence of explosive fumes.
- In case of a power outage, minimize opening the appliance doors. Protect food with dry ice or a local frozen food locker if the outage is long. Do not re-freeze previously frozen food that has thawed.
- Only adjust an empty shelf. Do not attempt to adjust a shelf with food on it.
- Allow the appliance to stand for 1/2 to 1 hour before turning on the electricity to allow refrigerant and lubrication to reach equilibrium.
Electrical Safety
Connect the appliance to a 110-120 V AC, 15 amp circuit with a circuit breaker or fuse. Use a separate grounded circuit. Do not use an extension cord.
The power cord has a three-prong (grounding) plug. Do not modify the plug or use a two-prong adapter. If a two-prong receptacle is encountered, contact a qualified electrician to replace it with a three-prong receptacle.
Do not use a frayed or damaged power cord.
Safety Regulations
The appliance complies with UL 250 / CSA C22.2 #63 and is designed for cooling, freezing, food storage, and ice making. It is intended for household use.
The appliance operates within specific ambient temperature limits based on its climate rating, indicated on the model plate:
- SN: 50°F to 90°F (10°C to 32°C)
- N: 61°F to 90°F (16°C to 32°C)
- ST: 61°F to 100°F (16°C to 38°C)
- SN-ST: 50°F to 100°F (10°C to 38°C)
- SN-T: 50°F to 109°F (10°C to 43°C)
- T: 61°F to 109°F (16°C to 43°C)
Clean the appliance before turning it on. Turn on the appliance several hours before loading with frozen food. Do not load until the temperature reaches approximately 0°F (-18°C).
WARNING! Do not allow children to play with the appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION! Have two people unpack and move the appliance to avoid injury or property damage.
CAUTION! Protect the finished floor surface before uncrating the unit.
Avoid placing the appliance in direct sunlight or near heat sources like stoves or radiators. Do not place heat-emitting appliances on top of the unit.
Keep the appliance out of the weather. Ensure ventilation grilles are unobstructed and there is good ventilation all around the appliance.
Upon uncrating:
- Examine the unit and packaging for shipping damage. Contact the carrier immediately if damage is suspected.
- Note the model number, index, serial number, date of purchase, and place of purchase in the back of this manual.

The appliance features a refrigerator compartment and a freezer compartment.

Operating and Control Elements
The electronic control panel uses touch capacitance technology. Functions are activated by touching the operating icons.

- Temperature Down control (reduce refrigerator temperature)

Temperature and Control Display
The display shows temperatures in degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
- Sabbath mode is activated
- Menu mode is activated (for setting additional functions)
Operation
Turning the Appliance On and Off
- Turning on: Touch the Refrigerator On/Off icon and the Freezer On/Off icon. The temperature displays will light up. The interior light turns on when the refrigerator door is open.
- Turning off: Touch the corresponding On/Off icon for approximately 3 seconds until the temperature display and interior lights go out.
Do not place frozen food in the freezer until the temperature shows at least 0°F (-18°C).
Setting the Temperature
The appliance is pre-set for normal operation. Recommended temperatures are 38°F (3°C) in the refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) in the freezer.
- To reduce temperature: Touch the DOWN icon on the left for the refrigerator and on the right for the freezer.
- To increase temperature: Touch the UP icon on the left for the refrigerator and on the right for the freezer.
The set temperature will flash on the display while adjusting. Touching the icons briefly changes the setting in 1°F (1°C) increments. Holding the icons changes the setting faster.
After releasing the icon, the display will show the actual temperature after approximately five seconds.
Temperatures can be set:
- Refrigerator: between 36°F and 44°F (2°C and 7°C)
- Freezer: between -15°F and 6°F (-26°C and -14°C)
Temperature Display
In normal operation, the display shows:
- The average refrigerator temperature.
- The warmest frozen food temperature.
When starting up or if the appliance is warm, dashes will appear in the freezer display until it reaches 32°F (0°C).
The display will flash if:
- The temperature is changed.
- The temperature rises due to cold loss (e.g., adding warm food, frequent door openings).
If "F1" to "F5" appears, there is a fault. Note the fault number when contacting customer service.
Ventilation
The Ventilation switch controls re-circulated cool air. Use it to:
- Chill large quantities of fresh food quickly.
- Keep the temperature evenly distributed throughout the refrigerator compartment.
Recommended to use ventilation if:
- Room temperatures are high (approx. 95°F [35°C] or higher).
- Air humidity is high.
Turning on: Touch the Ventilation icon briefly; the LED turns on.
Turning off: Touch the Ventilation icon again until the LED turns off.
Audible Alarm Signal
The audible alarm helps protect frozen food and save energy. It is switched off by touching the alarm icon.
Audible Door Alarm
Sounds if the door has been left open for longer than about 180 seconds. The sound switch-off function is active as long as the door is open. The alarm automatically switches back to standby when the door is shut.
Audible/Visual Temperature Alarm
Sounds if the freezer temperature is not low enough. The temperature display and the alarm LED flash.
Causes include:
- Adding warm, fresh food.
- Excessive warm air entry from outside.
- A fault in the appliance.
The display will continue to flash until the cause is rectified. The audible warning signal resets automatically.
Power Failure/FrostControl Display
If the power failure LED Ø is lit, the freezer temperature rose too high due to a power failure. The freezer temperature display flashes.
- Touching the Alarm icon shows the highest registered temperature during the power failure.
- Check food quality as it may have become too warm or defrosted.
The highest temperature appears for about one minute, then the actual freezer temperature reappears. Touching the Alarm icon again turns off the display.
SuperCool
Switches the refrigerator compartment to maximum cooling, ideal for cooling large quantities of food, drinks, or freshly baked goods rapidly.
- Turning on: Touch the SuperCool icon briefly; the LED turns on. The refrigerator temperature drops to its lowest value.
- Turning off: Touch the SuperCool icon again until the LED turns off.
The SuperCool function uses more energy but switches back to normal energy-saving operation automatically after approximately six hours. It can be turned off sooner if required.
Setup Mode
Allows activation of various functions:
- S = Sabbath mode: Considers religious requirements for Sabbath or Holidays. Some electronic controls are switched off. The lighting remains off, and there is no door or temperature alarm. Defrost cycles are independent of door openings.
- h = Display brightness: Adjusts display brightness from h 0 (minimum) to h 5 (maximum).
- = Temperature display mode: Choose between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C). Factory setting is Fahrenheit.
- F = Water quantity for ice cube tray: Adjusts water inflow for ice cube production. Do not increase by more than one step to avoid overflow.
- = Ice maker vacation state: Sets the ice maker for vacation. The tray rotates down, and no water remains. The freezer door should be left open.
- C = Child lock: Protects the appliance from being turned off accidentally.
How to activate setup mode: Touch the SuperFrost icon for 5 seconds. The SuperFrost LED turns on for 5 seconds, then 'S' flashes. Use freezer Up/Down icons to select functions. The display will flash continuously in setup mode.
Exit setup mode: Touch the freezer compartment On/Off icon.
How to change temperature display to degrees Celsius:
- Activate setup mode.
- Touch freezer compartment Down icon until appears.
- Touch SuperFrost icon; display shows .
- Touch SuperFrost icon again; temperature is now in Celsius.
- Exit setup mode.
How to adjust water quantity:
- Activate setup mode.
- Touch freezer compartment Down icon until E appears.
- Touch SuperFrost icon; display shows .
- Touch freezer compartment Up icon once to show E4.
- Touch SuperFrost icon again.
- Exit setup mode.
How to activate the child lock:
- Activate setup mode.
- Touch freezer compartment Down icon until appears.
- Touch SuperFrost icon; display shows .
- Touch SuperFrost icon again; the LED is lit, and child lock is activated.
- Exit setup mode.
How to deactivate the child lock:
- Activate setup mode.
- Touch freezer compartment Down icon until appears.
- Touch SuperFrost icon; display shows .
- Touch SuperFrost icon again; the LED goes out, and child lock is deactivated.
- Exit setup mode.
Refrigerator Compartment
Arranging Food
Refer to Figure 7 for recommended food placement:
- (1) Butter, cheese
- (2) Eggs
- (3) Cans, drinks
- (4) Bottles
- (5) Meat and sausage products, dairy products
- (6) Baked goods, pre-cooked meals
- (7) Fruit, vegetables, salad
- (8) Ice cubes
- (9) Frozen food
IMPORTANT:
- Store liquids and foods that give off or absorb odors in covered or closed containers.
- Store high-percentage alcohols tightly sealed and upright.
- Fruit, vegetables, and salad can be stored unpacked in the bin (7).
Equipment
CAUTION! To avoid injury, only adjust empty shelves or door racks.
Shelves and door racks can be rearranged as needed.
Repositioning the door racks (Figure 8):
Slide the door rack up, pull out, and replace in reverse order.
Vario Box (Figure 9):
Boxes can be removed and placed on the table as a unit. Lift boxes for removal and repositioning. The box support bar can be removed and inserted in another position. Ensure box lids are shut when closing the door to prevent damage.
Repositioning the shelves (Figure 10):
- Support the shelf from underneath to prevent it from tipping backward when removing.
- Lift the shelf at the front.
- Remove the shelf forward until its cutout aligns with the front supports.
- Lift or lower the shelf to the desired position.
Removing the shelves (Figure 11):
- Follow the first three steps for repositioning.
- Lift the shelf down to the upper vegetable bin.
- Move the front of the shelf upwards until it is vertical.
- Turn the shelf out to the left and remove.
For large bottles and containers:
Place shelf rails on the supports at the desired height (Figure 12). Insert glass shelves as shown in Figure 13, ensuring the raised edge is at the back. For tall containers, slide the front half of a partitioned glass shelf underneath the back half (Figure 13).
To remove the vegetable drawer (Figure 14):
Pull the drawer straight out, grip at the back, and lift out.
To install the vegetable drawer:
Place the drawer on the rails, ensuring they are fully extended and aligned with the drawer front. Slide the drawer in.
Interior Light
The interior light turns off automatically after the door has been open for approximately 15 minutes. If it does not turn on when the door is opened, the lamp(s) may be defective.
The light is located behind a cover at the top of the refrigerator compartment and has two lamps.
IMPORTANT: Only original LED lamps from the appliance manufacturer may be used. Lamps can be purchased from customer service or specialist dealers.
WARNING! Using LED lamps from other manufacturers carries a risk of overheating or fire.
Replacing the lamp:
WARNING! Disconnect the power cord or turn off the circuit breaker before replacing lamps to prevent electrical shock.
CAUTION! Use hand protection when replacing lamps to prevent injury from broken glass.
- Unlatch the cover at the left, middle, and right using a screwdriver (Figure 15). Remove the cover.
- Remove the glass plate (Figure 16).
- Remove the defective lamp. Ensure the seal (Figure 17) is on the new lamp before installing.
- Install the glass plate and cover.
IMPORTANT: The glass plate must be fully inserted to the back for the cover to click into place correctly.
Freezer Compartment
Freezing
Fresh food should be frozen completely and as rapidly as possible using the SuperFrost feature to maintain nutritional value, appearance, and flavor.
Information System
Use frozen food within the recommended period. The numbers between the symbols indicate storage periods in months for different frozen foods. Storage times are guidelines for home-frozen food. Quality and processing prior to freezing affect applicability. Lower values apply to food with high fat content.

- (5) Mushrooms, game
- (6) Poultry, beef
Freezing with SuperFrost
- Touch the SuperFrost icon briefly; the LED turns on.
- Wait 24 hours.
- Place the fresh food inside the freezer.
The SuperFrost function turns off automatically. Depending on the food quantity, this takes between 30 and a maximum of 65 hours. The freezer then returns to normal energy-saving operation.
IMPORTANT: Do not turn on SuperFrost:
- When placing already frozen food in the freezer.
- When freezing up to approximately 4-1/2 lbs (2 kg) fresh food daily.
Ice Maker
Freezing and Storage
- Pack frozen food in standard freezer bags or reusable containers (plastic, metal, aluminum).
- Do not allow fresh food to contact already frozen food.
- Keep packages dry to prevent them from sticking together.
- Write the date and contents on packages and do not exceed stated storage times to prevent spoilage.
- Pack food in quantities suitable for your household. For quick freezing, do not exceed:
- Fruit, vegetables: up to 2-1/4 lbs (1 kg)
- Meat: up to 5-1/2 lbs (2.5 kg)
- Do not freeze bottles and cans with carbonated drinks, as they may burst. Cool drinks quickly, but remove bottles from the freezer after one hour.
- Thaw only the amount of food needed. Cook thawed food as quickly as possible. Thawing methods:
- Microwave oven.
- Refrigerator (safer, less chance of bacteria growth; recommended for dense foods like roasts or poultry).
Safety Instructions and Warnings for the Automatic Ice Maker
- The ice maker is designed exclusively for making ice cubes needed by a household.
- All repairs must be done by customer service personnel or trained technicians.
- Do not consume or use the first three batches of ice, especially when first using the appliance or after a long period of non-use.
- The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by equipment or water lines between the solenoid valve and the water supply.
- The ice maker operates only when the refrigerator-freezer is connected to the electrical outlet and the freezer compartment is operating.
- The ice maker only makes ice cubes if the drawer is completely closed.
Making Ice Cubes
The ice maker is located in the top left drawer of the freezer compartment, labeled "IceMaker".
Filling the Water Tank
Use only filtered, de-carbonated water for the water tank to ensure top quality flavor for ice cubes.
IMPORTANT: Do not fill with alcoholic or sugary liquids, as this will damage the ice maker.
- Pull out the water tank forwards (Figure 20).
- Remove the cover and fill the tank with water (Figure 21).
- Reinsert the water tank and slide it into the holder as far as it will go (Figure 22).
IMPORTANT: If the water tank is not slid fully back, no ice cubes will be produced.
To Start the Ice Maker
- Pull out the drawer.
- Press the On/Off button so the Ice Maker LED comes on (Figure 23).
- Close the drawer.
It may take up to 24 hours for the first ice cubes to be ready after initial start-up.
Note: The first three batches of ice must not be consumed or used.
Production capacity is 90-100 ice cubes in 24 hours at 0°F (-18°C). Activating SuperFrost can increase capacity to approx. 140 ice cubes in 24 hours, but increases energy consumption.
Ice cubes fall into the drawer. The appliance stops producing ice automatically when the drawer is full. The ice maker does not fill the drawer to the top.
If a large quantity of ice is needed, swap the drawer with the complete IceMaker drawer.
To turn the ice maker off
Press the On/Off button for approximately 1 second so the control lamp goes out. The empty drawer can be used to freeze and store food.
Top up water tank LED
The LED lights up when the water tank needs topping up.
Ice Maker at Vacations
For longer vacations, empty the ice maker tray (Figure 24). Set the ice maker to vacation state: the tray rotates down, and no water remains. Leave the freezer door open to prevent mold and odors.
How to activate the Ice Maker Vacation State (Figure 25)
- Ensure the drawer is completely closed.
- Activate setup mode by touching the SuperFrost icon for 5 seconds.
- Touch the freezer compartment Down icon until appears in the freezer temperature display.
- Touch the SuperFrost icon; the display shows or , depending on whether the ice maker is on or off.
- Touch the freezer compartment Down icon; the display shows .
- Touch the SuperFrost icon; the digit flashes.
The ice maker tray rotates down. When the interior temperature reappears, the tray is in the down position, and the ice maker is turned off automatically.
Cleaning
WARNING! Disconnect the power cord or turn off the circuit breaker before cleaning to prevent electrical shock.
WARNING! Do not use steam cleaning equipment. Avoid water penetrating electrical components.
Do not use an overly wet sponge or cloth.
- Clean side panels and door surfaces with a clean, soft, or slightly moist cloth with detergent. A microfiber cloth can also be used.
- Do not use abrasive or scouring sponges, concentrated cleaning agents, abrasive or acid cleaners, or chemical solvents.
- Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer compartments and store temporarily in a cool place. Store frozen food in other freezers if available.
- Remove door racks (Figure 8, 9) and glass shelves (Figure 11). Remove vegetable drawers.
- Clean equipment parts by hand with lukewarm water and dishwasher detergent.
CAUTION! Do not clean equipment parts in a dishwasher, as strips could come loose.
- Clean the interior of refrigerator and freezer drawers with lukewarm water and dishwasher detergent.
- Clean the drain opening. Remove deposits with a thin instrument, e.g., a cotton bud (Figure 26).
IMPORTANT: Water will overflow into the refrigerator compartment if the drain becomes plugged.
- Dry all parts well with a cloth.
- Do not damage or remove the model plate inside the appliance.
- To empty the water collecting tray: remove the water tank. Carefully disengage the tray forwards and then lower for removal (Figure 27).
Defrosting/Vacation
Defrosting
Refrigerator compartment
The refrigerator compartment defrosts automatically. Water drains to a reservoir at the back and evaporates through compressor heat.
Freezer compartment
The NoFrost system automatically defrosts the freezer compartment. Moisture collects on the evaporator, freezes, and then periodically defrosts and evaporates.
Vacation Tips
Short vacations
(Less than four weeks):
- Use all perishables.
- Freeze other items.
- Turn off the ice maker.
- Empty the water tank.
Long vacations
(A month or more):
- Set the ice maker to vacation state (refer to "Ice Maker at Vacations" - page 19).
- Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer compartments.
- Turn off the refrigerator and freezer compartments.
- Clean the appliance (refer to Cleaning).
- Leave the door open to prevent unpleasant odors and mold buildup.
- Empty the water tank.
Troubleshooting
Check for operating errors if a problem occurs. Some repair costs may be your responsibility even during the warranty period.

Customer Service
If none of the above causes apply and you cannot correct the fault yourself, please contact your nearest customer service department.
Provide the fault number displayed, along with the Type Designation, Service Number, and Appliance/Serial Number from the model plate (located inside the appliance on the left-hand side) for prompt and accurate servicing.
Leave the appliance closed until the service engineer arrives to prevent further cold loss.

FULL TWO YEAR WARRANTY
Covers all parts and labor for repair or replacement of defective parts for two years from the original purchase date.
FULL FIVE YEAR WARRANTY
Covers all parts and labor for repair or replacement of defective components in the sealed system (compressor, condenser, evaporator, drier, and connecting tubing) for five years from the original purchase date.
LIMITED 6TH THROUGH 12TH YEAR WARRANTY
Covers all parts defective in materials or workmanship in the Sealed System (parts only) from the 6th through 12th year from the original purchase date.
Terms Applicable to Each Warranty
- Service must be performed by authorized Liebherr service representatives unless otherwise specified. Service is provided in the home during normal business hours.
- This warranty applies only to products installed for normal residential use.
- The warranty applies to products installed in Canada, the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- This warranty does not cover parts or labor to correct defects caused by negligence, accident, improper use, maintenance, installation, service, or repair, including improper removal and reinstallation of the condensing unit.
- The warranties described are in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Liebherr shall not be liable for special, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Some states may not allow limitations on incidental or consequential damages. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
