WARNING:
- Do not connect to unregulated propane sources.
- Before each use, check the gas hose for abrasion, wear, or cuts. Replace damaged hoses.
- Perform a Leak Test before first use, after cylinder changes, after component changes, if the flow-limiting device has activated, or after long periods of non-use.
- Do not connect to a motor home or trailer LP system.
LP Cylinder Leak Test
Leak test must be repeated each time the LP cylinder is exchanged or refilled.
Safety: Do not smoke or use open flames. Perform leak check outdoors in a well-ventilated area away from sparks.
Steps for Leak Test:
- Use a clean paintbrush and a 50/50 soap and water solution. Do not use household cleaning agents.
- Turn all burner control knobs, regulator, and cylinder valves OFF.

- Completely open LP cylinder valve counterclockwise. If a rushing sound is heard, turn gas off immediately (major leak).
- Brush the soapy solution onto all metal seams and the entire valve area.
- Slowly turn the LP cylinder valve counterclockwise to open.
- A leak is identified by a flow of bubbles. Close LP cylinder valve immediately and retighten connections.
- If leaks persist, do not attempt repair; contact your dealer. Do not operate if a leak is present.
- Always examine the hose for damage; do not patch, replace it.
- For assistance with malfunctions, contact customer service.
- Always close LP cylinder valve after leak test (clockwise).
- NEVER leave the valve ON for more than 12 seconds without a proper connection.
WARNING: Do not use the griddle if leaks are present. If the LP cylinder is leaking, close the valve and contact your LP dealer or 911. Do not use matches, open flames, or smoke during leak testing. Do not light burners during leak testing. Use only specified replacement parts.
Operating Instructions
Griddle burners are factory tested but may require adjustment due to local gas supply variations. Visually check burner flames.
WARNING: BEFORE LIGHTING
- Read instructions before lighting.

Turning Off Your Griddle
- Turn off gas supply at LP cylinder (clockwise to stop).
- Turn all burner control knobs to OFF.
Burner Flames
A good flame is primarily blue with a yellow tip and minimal flicker. Some yellow tips (under 2.5 cm) are acceptable. New burners may have oil residue causing yellow flames initially. Gas supply, altitude, and weather can affect flames. Older griddles may show more yellow flame due to food deposits.
Good Flame: Primarily blue, minimal yellow tip.
Bad Flame: Mostly yellow, significant flicker, or burning outside burner tubes.
Seasoning Guide
Seasoning creates a non-stick surface and protects against oxidation. The griddle has a protective oil layer from the factory.
First Seasoning:
- Wash off shipping oil with soapy water and paper towels. Rinse and air dry.
- Apply a thin coat of virgin olive oil or vegetable oil to the entire griddle surface with a paper towel.
- Turn griddle to medium-high heat. Heat until oil smokes and smoke stops. Turn off griddle.
- Let cool, then repeat steps 2-3, 2-3 times until a nice black surface is achieved.
- After use, apply a very thin coat of cooking oil to maintain seasoning and prevent rust.
Preheating
Preheat the griddle on MEDIUM/HIGH for 5 to 10 minutes before cooking. Reduce heat as needed. Brush or spray the cooking griddle with oil to prevent sticking.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Your griddle is designed for minimal maintenance.
Clean often, preferably after each cookout. Ensure no loose bristles from brushes remain on cooking surfaces.
WARNING:
- Do not clean parts in a self-cleaning oven.
- Do not use oven cleaners, abrasive cleaners, citrus cleaners, or mineral spirits.
- Clean regularly to prevent grease buildup and fires.
- Always allow the griddle to cool down before cleaning.
Grease is flammable. Let hot grease cool before handling. Avoid grease deposits in the firebox.
Cooking Griddle
Scrape and wipe with a paper towel or wet cloth. For tough residue, use mild cream cleaner or soapy water with table salt. Rinse and dry.
Stainless Steel
Clean with a multipurpose, low-abrasion stainless steel polish and a soft cloth, polishing in the direction of the finish. Avoid accumulation of grease and dirt. Be aware that swimming pool chemicals, fertilizers, ice-melting products, salt water, urine, bird droppings, and tree sap can damage stainless steel. Wash and dry immediately upon contact.
Other Exterior Surfaces
Wash with mild dishwashing detergent and warm water using a cloth, soft brush, or plastic cleaning pad. Rinse and wipe dry.
Grease Cup
Check and empty when half full. Wash with warm water and mild dishwashing detergent.
Burners
Clean burners at least twice a year, or before use if not used for over a month.
Cleaning the Burners
WARNING: Small insects or spiders can build nests in burner tubes, blocking gas flow and causing smaller, yellow, or uneven flames. If this occurs, immediately shut off propane gas at the cylinder and clean all burners after the griddle cools.
- Ensure gas is OFF at the LP cylinder.
- Remove the cooking griddle.
- Lift each burner up and out.
- Clean the inside of the burner using a stiff wire (like a straightened coat hanger) or compressed air. Wear eye protection if using compressed air. Do not enlarge burner ports.
- Brush the outer surface of the burner.
- Ensure all ports (holes) are free of debris.
- Inspect burners for cracks or enlarged ports; replace if necessary.
- Replace the cooking griddle.
- Perform the Leak Test described earlier.
WARNING: Proper burner and valve placement is vital for safety. Do not use strong solvents or abrasive pads.
Griddle Storage
- Clean griddle before storage. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Indoor storage is permissible only if the LP cylinder is disconnected and removed.
- A cover is recommended to protect the griddle.
- Perform a Leak Test before using the griddle after storage.
