Razer Core X V2 Master Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up and using the Razer Core X V2 external GPU enclosure.

2. What You Need
System Requirements:
- Thunderbolt™ 5, Thunderbolt™ 4, or USB 4 enabled system.
- Compatible PCI-E graphics card (sold separately).
- Compatible Power Supply Unit (PSU) (sold separately).
Razer Synapse Requirements:
- Windows® 10 64-bit or later.
- Internet connection (for software installation).
Notes:
- Check your laptop manufacturer for Thunderbolt™ external graphics compatibility.
- Ensure your PSU meets the graphics card's power requirements, providing at least 230W additional power for the eGPU. A higher wattage PSU is recommended.

3. Warranty
1 YEAR WARRANTY

4. eGPU Setup
Important: When installing internal components, use an anti-static wrist strap or gloves to prevent damage from static electricity/ESD.
- Loosen the chassis thumb screws and remove the chassis cover. Remove the power supply mounting thumb screws. [Diagram shows loosening screws to remove cover and PSU mount].
- Install the power supply unit and secure it with the power supply mounting thumb screws. Ensure the PSU fan faces outwards. [Diagram shows installing PSU and tightening screws].
- Note: Power supply is not included.
- Caution: Ensure the PSU meets the graphics card's power requirements, providing at least 230W additional power for the eGPU. A higher wattage PSU is recommended.
- Supported PSU Max Size:
- Length: 150 mm
- Width: 160 mm
- Height: 86 mm
- Connect the power supply to the 8-pin (or 4+4 pin) 12V EPS and 24-pin ATX power connectors. [Diagram shows connecting PSU cables to internal connectors].
- Remove the slot covers required for the graphics card. Only remove covers needed for the graphics card. [Diagram shows removing green slot covers].
- Install the graphics card into the PCI-E port and secure it with the necessary slot thumb screws. [Diagram shows inserting GPU and tightening screws].
- Note: Graphics card is not included.
- Supported Graphics Card Max Size:
- Length: 360 mm

- Connect the appropriate power connectors from the PSU to the graphics card. Ensure graphics card power connections are made. [Diagram shows connecting GPU power cables].
- Reattach the chassis cover and tighten the thumb screws. [Diagram shows reattaching cover and tightening screws].
- Plug the Razer Core X V2 into a power outlet. Use the power cord appropriate for your region. [Diagram shows plugging power cord into unit and wall socket].
- Connect the Razer Core X V2 to a compatible Thunderbolt™ 5, Thunderbolt™ 4, or USB 4 enabled system using the Thunderbolt™ 5 (USB Type C) cable. Use only a compatible Thunderbolt™ 5 (USB Type C) cable. [Diagram shows connecting Thunderbolt cable from eGPU to laptop].
- (Optional) Connect the Razer Core X V2 to an external monitor using the display port on the installed graphics card. Available ports may vary. [Diagram shows connecting monitor cable from GPU to monitor].
- Power on the unit. [Diagram shows power switch with OFF and ON labels].
- When prompted, install Razer Synapse or download the installer from razer.com/synapse.

5. RAZER CORE X V2 Settings
Disclaimer: This guide covers Razer Synapse features. An internet connection is required for installation, updates, and cloud features. Razer ID registration is optional. Features may change based on version.
SYNAPSE Tab:
- Minimize: Minimizes the app to the taskbar while it runs in the background.
- Maximize: Expands the window to full screen. Click again to restore the original size.
- Close: Closes all related tabs and exits the application.
- < Previous Tab: Navigates to the last accessed tab.
- > Next Tab: Navigates to the next page.
- C Refresh Tab: Reloads the current page. Use if the page is not displaying correctly or to view the latest content.
- Download Update: Indicates available app changes.
- Other: Accesses [Devices], [Modules], [Other Installed Apps] tabs.
- ☆ Settings: Quickly change app settings.
- ● Profile: Access options like Login, Feedback, Rate Software, Add Wi-Fi Device, Exit.
- ● Information: Displays additional info about features.
Dashboard:
The Dashboard tab provides an overview of Razer Synapse, allowing access to all your Razer devices, modules, and online services.
Gamer Room:
The Gamer Room tab displays all devices with Razer Aether light functionality. Manage supported devices here.
- Synapse Override: Customize lighting and make it react to Chroma-compatible games or Chroma Connect apps.
- Gamer Room App Control: Displays all supported devices controllable remotely via the Gamer Room app.
Devices & Modules:
The Modules tab shows all installed and available modules.
Global Shortcuts:
Bind custom key combinations to Razer Synapse functions. Works with Razer Synapse compatible device inputs only.
CORE X V2 Tab:
The main tab for eGPU settings. Changes are saved locally and to the cloud.
- Profile Dropdown: Switch between device profiles.
- ... Other: Access profile options (add, import, rename, export, delete).
- Performance Bar: Displays real-time metrics (chassis temp, GPU usage, fan speed). Customize or hide via the "..." button.
- Customize: Change fan speed settings and lighting.
- Fan Control: Choose Auto (default) or Manual fan curve based on GPU/chassis temperature.
- Lighting: Edit lighting settings.
- Brightness: Adjust brightness or turn off lighting.
- Turn Off Lighting: Turns off device lighting when the display is off.
- Quick Effects: Change Razer Logo lighting effects (Static, Breathing).
Linked Games:
Add apps, display linked peripherals, and search for apps.
- Games: Link apps and peripherals. Sort by title, last played, or play time. Add apps manually or by scanning. Search for specific games/programs. Link apps by clicking them and selecting the device/profile for automatic profile switching upon app launch.
- Devices: View peripherals and their linked apps. Add new apps, remove linked apps. Drag & drop executables or use the search window.
Settings:
- Synapse: App-specific options.
- Auto-start: Enable/disable Razer Synapse on system startup. Option to minimize to system tray.
- Recommendations: Display recommended products/features based on setup and games.
- Device Lighting: Select apps to control device lighting effects.
- Notifications: Show on-screen notifications even in fullscreen apps.
- Reset Tutorials: Re-enable tutorials.
- General: Access other options and software information.
- Language: Change display language.
- Information: View software version, copyright, terms of use, and links to Razer's social community.
- Feedback: Submit feedback, report bugs for rewards.
6. Precautions and Maintenance
Safety Guidelines:
- If issues arise, contact Razer support or visit support.razer.com.
- Ensure eGPU power is off, unplugged, and all connected devices are off before installation/removal.
- Verify PSU compatibility (e.g., 230W for GPU).
- Ensure eGPU power is off and unplugged before swapping graphics cards. Let the card cool down.
- Pull plugs/connectors, do not yank cables.
- Use only Razer-manufactured/approved accessories.
- Exercise caution to avoid electric shock or damage. Turn off and unplug during thunderstorms. Ensure hands are dry and keep away from liquids/heat sources.
- When moving the eGPU, turn it off, unplug all cables, and handle with care to avoid impact or drops.
- Regularly check support.razer.com for firmware updates for stability and compatibility.
- Ensure adequate airflow. Place the device in a clean, stable location.
- Keep away from liquids, moisture, or water. Operate within the specified temperature range (0°C-40°C). Unplug/turn off if temperature is outside this range until it stabilizes.
Care:
Perform minimal maintenance. Once a month, turn off the eGPU, unplug all cables, and clean with a soft cloth. Avoid soap or harsh detergents.
