HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM UNDER THE GOODWE LIMITED WARRANTY

To make a warranty claim, please contact your local distributor or the installer who supplied the Energy Storage system. If service cannot be obtained or is unsatisfactory, you can escalate your request by creating a service ticket via GOODWE's Zendesk portal.

GOODWE works with distributors and installers worldwide to provide timely service. Please use these service channels as the default. GOODWE will support and audit these channels to ensure quality service.

When contacting a distributor, please have the following information ready:

  1. Contact Information: Claimant's name, company name, phone number, email address, and shipment address.
  2. Defective System Information: Model number, serial number, installation date, and failure date. Claims must be made within one month of the failure date; otherwise, GOODWE may consider the claim abandoned.
  3. Installation Information: Brand, model, and number of PV panels.
  4. Error Information: Error message from the APP screen (if applicable) and additional details about the fault/error.
  5. Failure Description: Description of actions taken before the failure and details of any previous claims (if applicable).

GOODWE may arrange an on-site inspection to identify the root cause of faults. The claimant is responsible for granting access, scheduling, and ensuring the safety of the inspection by a GOODWE technician or an authorized third-party company. GOODWE reserves the right to refuse entry if the site is deemed unsafe by the technician.

REMEDY

If a valid warranty claim is received, GOODWE may, at its sole discretion, provide one of the following remedies:

  1. Fix the issue by changing configurations or updating software.
  2. Repair the Energy Storage system by replacing faulty parts.
  3. Exchange the Energy Storage system for a new, refurbished, or upgraded model that is functionally equivalent or superior to the original. If a replacement occurs within the warranty period, the remaining warranty period transfers to the new unit. If the remaining period is less than six months, it will be extended to six months. For each replacement, the claimant must submit an RMA report to GOODWE for confirmation before exchange.
  4. If a fault is proven to be caused by faulty installation, GOODWE may contact the original installer to resolve the issue before intervening and may charge the installer for subsequent costs if they fail to provide a proper solution.
  5. All parts replaced by GOODWE become its property. If the system is found not to be covered by this Limited Warranty, GOODWE reserves the right to charge a handling fee.

WHAT IS COVERED AND NOT COVERED?

Unless otherwise agreed, the GOODWE limited warranty covers only the cost of hardware material required to restore the device's functionality.

Transportation Costs: In some areas, GOODWE will cover outbound and inbound transportation costs via normal ground transport up to a specified rate. The claimant must cover any excess costs or costs incurred by using alternative transportation methods. In some cases, the claimant may need to arrange the return of the defective Energy Storage system to GOODWE, confirming the shipment schedule in advance. It is recommended to use packaging material identical to the original system package. If the allegedly defective Energy Storage system is not returned within four (4) weeks of receiving the replacement unit, or if no damage is found upon inspection, GOODWE will invoice the claimant for the replacement unit, plus delivery and associated service charges.

On-site Service Labor Costs: In certain areas or business cases, GOODWE may offer a rebate to the claimant or local installer/electrician to cover on-site service labor costs, subject to specific conditions:

All other costs, including compensation for direct or indirect damages, loss of profit, loss of use of the Energy Storage system or its functionality, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of revenue, or loss of anticipated savings, increased costs, or expenses, are not covered by the GOODWE limited warranty.

To the extent permitted by law, GOODWE's liability shall be limited to the purchase value of the Energy Storage system. These limitations do not apply in cases of gross negligence, intentional misconduct by GOODWE, or death or personal injury resulting from GOODWE's proven negligence.

*Manufacturer's warranty is a basic promise from GOODWE to end users. In some countries/districts, end users may receive an additional warranty promise from a local distributor (which should be at least equivalent to the manufacturer's warranty). Claims for such additional warranties should be directed to the local distributor.
Please note that this GOODWE limited warranty statement may not be the latest version. Refer to the latest version on GOODWE's global website: https://en.goodwe.com/warranty.asp.
*Usable Energy (kWh) measurement follows the testing conditions and methods detailed in Appendix A.

Appendix A

Capacity measurement condition:

Ambient temperature: 25±2°C, new battery 100% DOD. Testing should be conducted after at least 12 hours of storage.

Charge / Discharge method:

  1. Discharge the battery with a 0.2C constant current until any cell reaches the cut-off voltage.
  2. Allow the battery to rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Charge the battery with a 0.2C constant current until any cell reaches the cut-off voltage.
  4. Allow the battery to rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Discharge the battery with a 0.2C constant current until any cell reaches the cut-off voltage.

Repeat steps 2-4 three times. The discharge capacity of the third cycle will be considered the final capacity.
