Controller Diagram and Features

The VEX EXP Controller is a handheld device designed for controlling robots. It features the following components:

  • 1. L3 Joystick: Left analog stick for directional control.
  • 2. E Buttons: Programmable buttons labeled 'E'.
  • 3. Power Button: Used to turn the controller on and off.
  • 4. R3 Joystick: Right analog stick for directional control.
  • 5. F Buttons: Programmable buttons labeled 'F'.
  • 6. Power/Link LED: Indicates power status and connection status.
  • 7. Charge LED: Indicates the charging status of the battery.
  • 8. USB Charge Port: Port for charging the controller via USB.
  • 9. R Buttons: Programmable buttons labeled 'R'.
  • 10. L Buttons: Programmable buttons labeled 'L'.

Charging Instructions

To charge the controller:

  1. Turn off the controller.
  2. Connect the USB Cable A-C (Part Number 269-6961) to the controller's USB Charge Port and attach a charging adapter. (Adapter not included)
  3. Plug the charging adapter into a power outlet.
  4. Charging will start automatically.

Charging Input: USB Port (Recommended 2.4 A or greater, minimum 0.5 A)

Charge LED Status

  • Green: Fully Charged
  • Red: Charging in Progress
  • Blinking Red: Battery Fault
  • Off: Not Charging

Powering On/Off

To turn the controller on or off, press the power button [ Power Button].
