Waterproof Total Protection Case Care Instructions
General Cleaning
- With the case fully closed and sealed, gently wash with mild soap and water.
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- DO NOT use solvent-based cleaners or paper towels.
Stubborn Stains
- For tough stains, use EPA-approved disinfectants like 70% isopropyl alcohol or Lysol/Clorox wipes.
- Do not use abrasive cloths, sponges, or scrub aggressively.
- Avoid cleaning bonded areas like screen protector edges, camera lenses, or gaskets.
- Wash thoroughly with soap and water to remove any residual cleaning solvents.
O-Ring/Gasket and Charge Port Plug
- Remove the O-ring/Gasket: Gently lift it out from the groove around the Back Panel.
- Take Out the Charge Port Plug: Unplug it, then slide it off the case.
- Clean the Parts: Use a damp lint-free cloth to wipe down the components. This helps to prevent build-up and maintain a watertight seal.
- If you choose to lubricate the O-ring/Gasket, lightly apply a silicone-based lubricant. Use a small amount on your fingertips and gently glide it over the O-ring without stretching it.
- Do not use Vaseline or petroleum-based products, as they can damage the silicone O-ring and plug. Stick to silicone-based lubricants.
- Before putting back the O-ring, clean the groove around the Back Panel using a cotton swab, folded microfiber cloth, or an old toothbrush.
- When replacing the O-ring/Gasket, do not pinch or twist it. Start at one corner and work your way around the Back Panel.
- To replace the Charge Port Plug, align the small vertical post on the case with the rectangular hole on the bottom of the Plug before pushing it back in.
Caution
- Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can degrade the case materials over time. The screen protector is scratch-resistant but can still be damaged.
- Drop or Impact: After a drop or fall, remove your phone from the case and do a water test to make sure it is still in good working order. If the case leaks, do not use it underwater.
- Sunscreen: Use caution when using your case after applying sunscreen. Sunscreens often contain solvents that can permanently mar or cloud the plastic parts of the case, or could degrade the seals. If you accidentally expose your Catalyst® case to sunscreen, rinse off the case as soon as possible.
- Temperature: Keep your iPhone within its operating temperature range (32° to 95° F / 0° to 35° C). The case can withstand higher temperatures, but this is beyond the iPhone's limits.
- Air Travel and Altitude: When traveling with your Catalyst case in your checked luggage or sending the case through airmail, unplug the Charge Port and Audio Jack Plug (iPhone 6 series or older) or make sure the lid of the case is uninstalled. Always store your case with Case Back removed or Plug for Charge Port and Audio Jack Plug open.
