To ensure reliable and safe operation of this equipment, please read carefully all the instructions in this user guide, especially the safety information below.
Electrical Safety
- To prevent overload, do not share the same mains supply socket with too many other items of equipment.
- Do not place connecting wires where they may be stepped on or tripped over.
- Do not place heavy items on the leads, which may damage them.
- Hold the mains plug, not the wires, when removing from a socket.
- During a thunderstorm or while leaving the TV for long periods, disconnect the aerial (if outdoor) and the power cable from the supply.
- Do not allow water or moisture to enter the TV. Do NOT use in wet or moist areas such as bathrooms, steamy kitchens, or near swimming pools.
- Pull the plug out immediately and seek professional help if: the mains plug or cable is damaged; liquid is spilt onto the set, or it is accidentally exposed to water or moisture; anything accidentally penetrates the ventilation slots; the set does not work normally.
- Do NOT remove the safety covers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. You may invalidate the warranty. Qualified personnel only are permitted to service this apparatus.
- To avoid battery leakage, remove exhausted batteries from the remote control handset, or when not using for a long period. Do NOT break open or throw exhausted batteries into a fire.
Physical Safety
- Do NOT block ventilation slots in the back cover. You may place the TV in a cabinet, but ensure at least 5cm (2") clearance all around the unit.
- Do NOT tap or shake the TV screen; you may damage the internal circuitry. Take good care of the remote control; do not drop it or allow it to come into contact with liquids.
- To clean the TV, use a soft dry cloth. Do NOT use solvents or petrol-based fluids. For stubborn stains, you may use a damp soft cloth with diluted detergent.

Introduction
1. Front View
Power Indicator: An LED indicator shows the power status (Red for Standby mode, Green for Power on mode).
Remote Control Window: This is the IR (Infrared Receiver) that receives signals from the remote control. Keep this area clear for optimal performance.
The effective receiving range for the signal is 5-8 meters from the front of the remote control window, and 30° to the left or right side and 20° above or below the remote control window.
Remote Control Buttons and Functions:
- (red button): Turn the TV on/standby.
- : Press to display the input source menu.
- : Press to display the OSD menu; press again to exit the menu.
- : Press to scan through channels.
- : Press to adjust the volume.
- Number Buttons: Choose channel directly. For example, press "5" for channel 5; press "6" then "2" in 2 seconds for channel 62; press "1", then "5" in 2 seconds, then "1" in 2 seconds for channel 151; press "5", then "- / - -" in 2 seconds, then "1" in 2 seconds for channel 5-1.
- : Return to the previous channel viewed.
- : Press repeatedly to cycle through available video picture modes.
- : Press to cycle through different sound settings.
- : Set the shutdown timer.
- : Display information of the current mode.
- : Press to mute the sound; press again or press to unmute.
- : Press to exit the OSD menu.
- < > ↑ ↓ Allows navigation of on-screen menus and adjustment of system settings.
- : CONFIRM button.
- : Press to display the closed caption.
- : Press to select the audio channels.
- : Press to enter the EPG menu directly.
- : Press to add or remove a favorite channel.
Installing Batteries
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Insert two 1.5V AAA size batteries, observing the polarity markings inside the battery compartment. Do not mix different types or used batteries with new ones.
- Close the cover.
Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine or fire. The remote control should be operated within 23 feet (7m) and 30° to the left and right of the IR Receiver on the front of the TV. Used batteries should be disposed of properly.
2. Rear View
The rear panel features various connection ports:
- 1. COAX: Digital audio output.
- 2. RF: Connect antenna or cable (75 Ohm coaxial) to receive TV signal.
- 3. VGA: For PC display. Connect to the D-Sub 15 pins analog output of the PC.
- 4. PC IN: Connect to the audio output of the PC.
- 5. HDMI 1/2/3: Connect to the HDMI output of video devices.
- 6. Service: For service use only.
- 7. YPbPr: Connect to the component video output of video devices.
- L/R in: Connect to the audio output of video devices.
- 8. VIDEO: Connect to video output of video devices.
- L/R in: Connect to the audio output of video devices.
- 9. L/R out: Connect to audio equipment.
- 10. Headphone out: Connect to your headphone or audio equipment.
- 11. AC POWER IN: Connect to an earth 100-240V~ 50/60Hz outlet with the power cable.
3. Instruction for Wall Mount
A wall mount kit (purchased separately) allows you to mount your PROSCAN TV on the wall. For detailed information on installation, refer to the instructions provided by the wall mount manufacturer. Professional assistance is strongly recommended.
PROSCAN is not responsible for any damage to the product or injury resulting from wall-mounting.
Dimensions for Mounting Hole Pattern
This PROSCAN TV is compatible with a 400mm x 200mm mounting hole pattern.
Screws Required:
4 pcs of type M5 screws are required for installing the wall mount bracket. Do not use screws longer than 15 mm, as they may cause damage to the inside of the TV set.
Safety Precautions for Wall Mounting:
- Do not fasten the screws too tight; this may damage the TV or cause it to fall, resulting in personal injury.
- Do not mount your PROSCAN TV at more than a 15-degree tilt.
- Always use two people to mount the TV to a wall.
- Do not install your Wall Mount Kit while your TV is turned on, as it may result in personal injury due to electric shock.
Basic Operation
Power On/Off
- Connect the TV to the power supply with the power cord, and turn on the switch.
- To turn the TV on or off, press the button on the TV or remote control.
Input Source Select
Press the
button on the TV set or remote control to display the input source menu. Use the buttons on the TV set or the on the remote control to select the input source, then press the button on the remote control to enter. Note: Ensure all connections are prepared before selecting the input source.Basic OSD Menu Operation
Press the
button to display the OSD menu. Use the (< > ↑ ↓) to select items in the main menu, and press the button to enter a submenu. In the submenu, use the to select a function item, then use the to adjust/setup, or press the button to enter further submenus. Press the button to return to the upper menu. Press the button to exit the menu display.OSD Menu Options
1. Picture Menu
Picture Settings:
Access this menu by pressing the
button and selecting 'Picture'.- Picture Mode: Select between Dynamic, Standard, Movie, User, and Power Saving. You may also select the picture mode directly by pressing the button on the remote control.
- Brightness: Adjusts the brightness of the picture.
- Contrast: Controls the difference between the bright and dark regions of the screen picture.
- Color: Adjusts the color saturation of the picture.
- Tint: Controls the fresh tones to make them appear natural.
- Sharpness: Sets the amount of fine detail in the picture.
- Screen Size: Select the displaying mode of the picture (e.g., Wide, Cinema, Zoom, Normal, Just Scan).
- PC Settings: If the video input signal comes from your PC, you can adjust Vertical Position, Horizontal Position, Clock, Phase, or perform an Auto adjustment.
- Color Temp.: Select between Normal, Cool, and Warm.
Advanced Picture Settings:
Access this menu from Picture Settings.
- Dynamic Contrast: Select the dynamic contrast mode between Off, Low, Medium, and High.
- Film Mode: Activate or deactivate the Film Mode.
- Noise Reduction: If the broadcast signal received is weak, use this option to reduce video noise (Off, Low, Medium, High).
- MPEG Noise Reduction: Select this option to reduce picture noise (Off, Low, Medium, High).
2. Sound Menu
Sound Settings:
Access this menu by pressing the
button and selecting 'Sound'.- Sound Mode: Select your desired mode: Dynamic, Standard, Soft, and User. You may also select the sound mode directly by pressing the button on the remote control.
- Bass: Adjusts low-frequency intensity.
- Treble: Adjusts high-frequency intensity.
- Balance: Adjusts left and right stereo audio channels balance.
- Surround Mode: Activate or deactivate the Surround function.
- AVL (Auto Volume Limited): Activate or deactivate the Auto Volume Limited function.
- Analog Sound: Select the Analog Sound mode between Stereo, Mono, and SAP.
- Digital Sound: Select the Digital Sound language.
- Digital Audio Output: Select the Digital Audio Output mode between PCM, RAW, and Off.
- Equalizer Settings: Adjust frequency bands. Select modes like User, Off, Rock, Pop, and Jazz. In User mode, you can adjust individual frequency bands using the arrow keys.
3. Channel Menu
Channel Options:
Access this menu by pressing the
button and selecting 'Channel'.- Channel List: Displays the current channel list.
- Favorite List: Displays your favorite channel list.
- Channel Settings: Configure channel settings such as Skip, Favorite, and Label.
- Signal Type: Select between Air (Antenna) and Cable for signal input.
- Auto Channel Search: Press the button to start an automatic channel search. Press the button to stop the search. Note: Auto scanning may take time.
4. Parental Control Menu
You must enter the password (default is 0000) to access this menu.
- V-CHIP: Accesses rating systems.
- US V-CHIP: Select Movie Ratings (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, X) and TV Ratings. You can block or unblock specific ratings.
- Canada V-CHIP: Select English Ratings (C, C8+, G, PG, 14+, 18+) and French Ratings (G, 8ans+, 13ans+, 16ans+, 18ans+).
- Block UnRated Show: Activate or deactivate the function to block shows without rating information.
- Downloadable Rating: Set the Downloadable Rating in DTV mode when program rating information is available.
- Clear Downloadable Data: Clear the downloadable rating data of the TV.
- Change Password: Change the password by entering the new password twice to confirm it. Remember your password.
- Keypad Lock: Invalidates the buttons on the TV set.
- Source Lock: Invalidates selected source inputs.
5. Setup Menu
Setup Options:
Access this menu by pressing the
button and selecting 'Setup'.- Closed Caption: Configure caption display, analog caption types (CC1-CC4, Text1-Text4), digital caption types (Service1-Service6), presets, and style.
- Menu Language: Select the OSD menu language.
- Clock: Set the Time Zone, activate/deactivate Auto Clock, set the Setup Time, display the Day of Week, and activate/deactivate Daylight Saving Time.
- Retail Mode: Activate or deactivate the Retail Mode display.
6. Others Menu
Other Settings:
Access this menu by pressing the
button and selecting 'Others'.- Blue Back: Turn on/off the blue screen function when there is no signal.
- No Signal Power Off: The TV will turn off automatically if there is no signal for 10 minutes.
- No Operation Power Off: The TV will turn off automatically if there is no operation for 3 hours.
- All Reset: Reset all settings to their default values.
Simple Troubleshooting
If the TV has failed or its performance has seriously deteriorated, check the TV using the following troubleshooting guide. If you cannot resolve the problem, please call Technical Support.
No Power
- Check all power connections to the TV.
- Press either the button or the on the remote control.
No Picture or Sound
- Ensure that the TV is plugged in and the power is on.
- Ensure that the antenna is connected.
- Try a different program.
Poor Picture Quality
- Check the antenna connections.
- Check if the channel is tuned in properly.
- Adjust the picture settings: brightness, color, sharpness, contrast, or hue.
- Make sure that the TV is not located close to electrical appliances that may emit radio frequency interference.
No Color
- Adjust the color setting.
- Check if the program is in color.
- Check if the channel is tuned properly.
TV Does Not Respond to Remote Control
- Check if there is no obstruction between the remote control and the unit.
- Check if the remote control is within the range of operation.
- Check if the batteries in the remote control are weak or exhausted.
