Important Safety Instructions
When using your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury:
- Install by a qualified technician.
- Read and understand all instructions.
- Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
- Unplug before cleaning; use a damp cloth, not liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Do not use near water (bath tub, sink, pool, wet basement, shower).
- Do not place on unstable surfaces.
- Ventilation slots are provided; do not block them to prevent overheating. Keep away from radiators/heat registers.
- Operate only from the indicated power source type. Consult dealer if unsure.
- Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord; do not install where the cord may be walked on.
- Never push objects into product slots, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or create a short circuit. Never spill liquid.
- To reduce electric shock risk, do not disassemble; take to an authorized service facility.
- Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords.
- Unplug and refer servicing to an authorized facility if: power cord is damaged/frayed; liquid spilled; exposed to rain/water; product does not operate normally.
- Avoid using a telephone during an electrical storm due to risk of lightning shock.
- Do not use to report a gas leak; sparks can occur when plugging in or cradling the handset in environments with flammable gases. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Only put the handset to your ear when in normal talk mode.
- Power adapters are intended for vertical or floor mount; prongs are not designed for ceiling or under-table outlets.
- Use only the specified power cord and batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in fire; they may explode. Check local codes for disposal.
- For wall mounting, align eyelets with mounting studs and slide down to lock.
CAUTIONS:
- Keep small metallic objects away from the handset receiver.
- Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by incorrect type.
- Dispose of used batteries according to instructions.
- Disconnect telephone line before replacing batteries.
- Avoid using battery in extreme temperatures, low air pressure, or if safeguards are defeated by incorrect type. Do not dispose of batteries in fire or hot ovens, or crush/cut them.

Installation
Installation Option - Install Base Stand for Desktop:
To mount the base stand:
- Align the grooves with the base stand.
- Slide down to secure the stand.
To unmount the base stand: Simply slide up and lift the telephone base from the base stand.
Diagrams show the Charger C4012 with numbered parts: 1 Charging poles, 2 CHARGE LED, 3 USB-A port.
Installation Option - Converting from Desktop to Wall Mount Position:
To mount the telephone base on the wall:
- Unmount the base stand. Place the cordless handset aside. On the telephone base, press the wall mount clip upward and rotate it 180°. Slide back the clip. It locks into place with the protruding edge pointing towards the upper edge of the telephone base, holding the handset when mounted.
- Turn the telephone base over. Press the tabs of the mounting bracket into the grooves on the telephone base until they lock securely.
- Mount the telephone base on the wall by positioning the eyelets on the base and bracket against the mounting studs. Slide the base down on both studs until it locks into place.
- Replace the handset on the telephone base cradle.
Telephone Base Backup Battery
A backup battery ensures continuous operation during a power outage. It is installed and turned off before delivery.
Turn On/Off the Telephone Base Backup Battery:
- Locate the power button on the bottom side of the base (accessible via a pinhole).
- Press the button with a pin or similar tool to turn the backup battery on.
- Press again to turn it off. The battery only recharges and functions when turned on. It has an approximate service life of two years.
Replace Telephone Base Backup Battery:
- Remove the screw with a screwdriver and gently open the battery compartment cover.
- Remove old batteries. Clean contacts with a cotton swab or soft, lint-free cloth if corroded.
- Place new batteries, observing polarity (+/-) markings in the compartment.
- Gently press batteries to ensure full contact with terminals.
- Align battery compartment cover tabs with grooves, push down firmly until locked, then install the screw.
Replace Handset Battery
The handset battery is pre-installed.
- Use a narrow object to pry open the screw cover and remove the screw. Insert a flat head screwdriver into the provided slot to gently open the handset cover.
- Remove old batteries. Clean contacts if corroded.
- Place new batteries, observing polarity (+/-) markings.
- Gently press batteries to ensure full contact.
- Align handset cover tabs with grooves, push down firmly until locked, then install the screw.
Connection
1-Line Analogue Cordless Phone - CTM-A2415: Telephone Base Installation
The telephone is ready for desktop use.
Diagram shows telephone base connection: telephone wall jack, telephone line cord, power cord connector. A DSL filter is required for High Speed Internet Access service.
- Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into an outlet not controlled by a wall switch, and the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the power adapter and wall jack.
- Use a paperclip to press the Base battery ON pinhole and Handset battery ON pinhole to turn on the base and handset.
- The base and handset cannot be charged without the battery turned on. Charge the base for the backup feature. Full charge takes 12 hours. Keep the handset in the base when not in use for best performance.
- Press ? / SPEAKER on the telephone base. Listen for a dial tone, then press ? / SPEAKER again to hang up.

1-Line Analogue Cordless Accessory Handset with Charger - CTM-A2415HC: Charging Stand Installation
The telephone is ready for desktop use.
- Install the charger base. Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into an outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
- Use a paperclip to press the Handset battery ON pinhole to turn on the handset.
- The handset cannot be charged without the battery turned on. Full charge takes 12 hours. Keep the handset in the charging base when not in use for best performance.
- Press ? / SPEAKER on the handset. Listen for a dial tone, then press ? / SPEAKER again to hang up.

Handset Registration and Management
Handset Registration:
Place the cordless handset on the telephone base cradle. Registration is automatic on first use. The MESSAGE WAITING LED flashes once, and 3 rising beeps confirm completion. The base supports up to 4 handsets. A new handset can replace a disconnected one.
Handset Deregistration:
When idle, press *331734#?. A confirmation tone indicates completion.
Register a Handset to Another Telephone Base:
When idle, place the handset on another telephone base; it will automatically register.
Handset Battery Charging:
Batteries must be fully charged before first use. The CHARGE LED indicates charging. Full charge takes 12 hours. Keep the handset in the base when not in use.
Energy-Saving Charging Mode
When activated, all functions except handset battery charging are disabled.
To Activate:
- Unplug the telephone base backup battery or shut it down. Unplug the power adapter and telephone line cord. Ensure all handsets are plugged with charged batteries.
- Press and hold FIND HS (FIND HANDSET), then plug the telephone base power back in.
- After ~20 seconds, when the IN USE light flashes, release FIND HS and press it again within 2 seconds. The base should not respond to keys.
- Press *331734# and then MUTE to deregister handsets manually.
Successful activation: IN USE light turns off, 3 rising beeps are heard. Repeat steps if it fails.
NOTE: If FIND HS is not pressed within 2 seconds in Step 3, the base powers up normally.
To Deactivate:
Unplug the telephone base adapter, then plug it back in with the line cord. Register handsets again.
Set Up
Program Phone Settings (CTM-A2415):
Enter ADMIN mode by pressing *7764#? on the handset. MUTE LED, MESSAGE WAITING LED, and SPEAKER LED will blink. To quit with settings, press OFF (3 beeps). To quit without saving, press OFF before entering a value.

To Program a Guest-Service Key:
- Press *234636#? to enter PROGRAMMING mode.
- Press the desired guest service key.
- Enter the telephone number (up to 32 digits). Press the same Speed Dial key to confirm.
To insert a pause, press ? / SPEAKER. Maximum 32 digits per entry. Repeat for other keys. Press OFF to quit.
To Clear a Programmed Key:
- Press *234636#? to enter PROGRAMMING mode.
- Press the guest service key twice to delete.
Operation
The cordless handset and telephone base cannot be used on the same call, but calls can be switched between them. TALK key or SPEAKER LED illuminates when in use.
Receive a Call:
Telephone rings, MESSAGE WAITING LEDs flash.
- Answer on handset (not in base): Press TALK or ? / SPEAKER.
- Answer on handset (in base): Lift the handset from the base.
- Answer on base: Press ? / SPEAKER.
Place a Call:
- Using handset: Press TALK or ? / SPEAKER, listen for dial tone, dial number or press Speed Dial key.
- Using base: Press ? / SPEAKER, listen for dial tone, press Speed Dial key.
End a Call:
- Using handset: Press OFF or place in base/charging base.
- Using base: Press ? / SPEAKER.
Switch Calls:
- Handset to base speakerphone: Press ? / SPEAKER on base.
- Base speakerphone to handset (not in cradle): Press TALK or ? / SPEAKER on handset.
- Base speakerphone to handset (in cradle): Lift handset from base.
Share a Call:
Up to four cordless handsets can be used on an external call.
Join a Call:
During a call, press TALK or ? / SPEAKER on another handset to join.
Handset Speakerphone:
During a call, press ? / SPEAKER on the handset to switch between speakerphone and earpiece mode.
Volume Adjustment:
- Listening Volume (Handset): During call, press -VOLUME+ on handset. Returns to default next call.
- Listening Volume (Base): During call, press VOL+ and VOL- on base. Returns to default next call.
- Ringer Volume (Base): When base is idle, press VOL+ and VOL- to adjust.
Call Waiting, Mute, Find Handset
Call Waiting:
When a call waiting tone is heard, press TALK on handset or base to put current call on hold and take the new one. Press TALK to switch between calls.
Mute the Microphone:
During a call, press ? / MUTE on handset or base. The key illuminates when muted. Press again to resume.
Find Handset:
Press FIND HS (FIND HANDSET) on the base when the telephone is not in use. All idle handsets beep for 60 seconds. To end paging, press FIND HS again or any key on a handset.

For Cordless Telephone:
- Telephone does not work at all: Check power adapter and line cord connections. Ensure battery is installed and charged. Unplug/replug base. Charge handset for up to 12 hours. Remove/reinstall battery. Test with another telephone; if it also fails, contact service provider.
- No dial tone: Ensure dial tone exists. Allow a second for synchronization. Eliminate background noise. If other phones have issues, it's likely wiring/service.
- Cannot dial out: Ensure dial tone exists. Eliminate background noise. If other phones have issues, it's likely wiring/service.
- LOW BATTERY LED illuminates: Place handset in base/charger for recharging. Use until depleted, then charge for up to 12 hours. Replace battery if problem persists.
- Battery does not charge / accept charge: Ensure handset is placed correctly in base/charger; CHARGE LED should be on. Remove/reinstall battery and charge for 12 hours. If CHARGE LED is off, clean charging contacts. Check adapter/line cord connections. Unplug/replug adapter. Replace battery if needed.
- CHARGE LED is off: Clean charging contacts. Ensure power adapter and line cord are securely plugged. Unplug/replug adapter after 15 seconds.
- Telephone does not ring: Check line cord and power adapter. Move handset closer to base or adjust RF power. Check for interference from other electronics (HAM radios, DECT phones). Test with another phone at the wall jack. Check line cord for defects. Remove/reinstall battery, place handset in base, wait for synchronization.
- Handset beeps and not performing normally: Check power cord connection. Move handset closer to base or adjust RF power. Reset base by unplugging power for 15 seconds, then plugging back in. Check for interference from other electronics.
- Interference or call fades: Check modem/surge protector location. Install DSL filter if using High Speed Internet Access. Move interfering appliances or other cordless phones to a different outlet. Check for interference from other electronics. Ensure base is centrally located away from obstructions. Test with a corded phone; if issues persist, it's wiring/service.
- Hear other calls: Disconnect base from wall jack, plug in a different telephone. If other calls are heard, it's wiring/service.
- Noise on handset / keys not working: Ensure telephone line cord is plugged securely.
- Reset instructions for common issues: Put handset in base. If unresolved, disconnect base power, disconnect handset battery, wait a few minutes, reconnect base power, reinstall handset battery, place handset in base, wait for synchronization (up to one minute).
Warranty Program
VTech Telecommunications Limited warrants the Product and accessories against defects in material and workmanship for the limited warranty period, starting from the date of possession. This warranty applies only if purchased through a local distributor/dealer. VTech will repair or replace defective products at its option. The warranty period is the original period or 90 days after repair/replacement, whichever is longer.
Warranty does NOT cover:
- Misuse, accident, shipping damage, improper installation, neglect, fire, water, etc.
- Damage from unauthorized repair or modification.
- Problems caused by signal conditions, network reliability, or cable/antenna systems.
- Use with non-VTech accessories.
- Altered or illegible warranty/serial number stickers.
- Products purchased, used, or serviced from outside the local dealer/distributor, or for non-approved commercial/institutional purposes (including rental).
- Products returned without proof of purchase.
- Costs incurred by the user for removal, shipping, installation, setup, or system repair outside the unit.
- Missing line cords, connectors, power adapters, batteries (VTech will charge for missing items).
- NiCd or NiMH handset batteries, or power adapters (covered by a one-year warranty only).
Other Limitations: VTech's liability is limited to the purchase price. No indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages are covered. This warranty provides specific legal rights.

Place handset down gently. Save original packing materials for shipping.
Avoid Water:
Do not use in rain or with wet hands. Do not install near sinks, bathtubs, or showers.

Clean casing with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water or mild soap. Do not use excess water or solvents.
