Operating Instructions
Battery Installation
Insert the batteries as illustrated and screw to tighten the tail cap.
Note:
- Ensure the batteries are inserted with the positive end towards the head. The product will not work if the batteries are incorrectly inserted.
- DO NOT direct the beam to the naked eyes.
- DO NOT mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.
- DO NOT mix batteries of different types/brands.
- DO NOT mix batteries of different power levels.
- When the product is kept in a backpack or left unused for prolonged time, please remove all batteries to prevent accidental activation or battery leakage.
Charging Function
The MH40GTR is capable of charging two protected 18650 Li-ion batteries. Loosen the metal sleeve (counter-clockwise) and connect the charging port to a power socket via the included charging cable. Switch the product on to begin charging. The average charging time for 2 x 18650 rechargeable Li-ion batteries is 5 hours.
- Under normal charging conditions, the red indicator light near the charging port will flash twice every second.
- If a problem is detected during the charging process, MH40GTR will stop charging and the red indicator will flash rapidly. This is usually caused by damaged or incorrectly inserted batteries, or the flashlight is not turned on.
- When charging is complete, the red indicator will illuminate steadily.
Cautions:
- MH40GTR needs to be turned on in order to begin the charging process.
- DO NOT charge batteries of different types or different brands together.
Switching ON/OFF
- To switch ON: Press the tail switch until a “click” is heard.
- To switch OFF: Press the tail switch again until a “click” is heard.
Mode Switching
MH40GTR has 2 output modes: TURBO and User-defined Mode. Both modes are interchangeable by tightening and loosening the flashlight head. TURBO provides the maximum output while User-defined Mode contains 3 selectable brightness levels and 2 special modes.
TURBO Mode
TURBO mode is accessed by tightening the flashlight head. In this mode, half press the tail switch to momentarily turn on MH40GTR, and release to turn it off. (Momentary illumination is not functional in User-defined Mode.) Momentary illumination can be applied for signaling and tactical purposes.
Note: In TURBO mode, the fast generated heat can increase flashlight temperature and consequently affect user experience or even flashlight life. Therefore, MH40GTR will automatically lower its brightness level after 5 minutes in TURBO mode to control temperature and prolong battery life. You can switch back to TURBO mode if necessary, but using TURBO for extended period is not recommended.
User-defined Mode
User-defined Mode is accessed by slightly loosening the flashlight head. In this mode, lightly and rapidly pressing the switch within 1 second will cycle through the brightness levels and special modes in the following order: “HIGH MID-LOW-SOS-STROBE”. After selecting your preference, turn off the flashlight and wait for approx. 10 seconds before the flashlight memorizes the defined settings. MH40GTR will access the previous memorized settings when the User-defined Mode is reactivated.
Useful Tips
You can simply regard MH40GTR as a flashlight with a head switch with a quick access to 2 different status. Preset your preference for a brightness level or a special mode in the User-defined Mode. For example, if it is for your everyday use, preset LOW level in the User-defined Mode for a quick access by loosening the flashlight head; if it is for tactical use or law enforcement, preset STROBE mode in the User-defined Mode for a quick access.
Maintenance
Every 6 months, threads should be wiped with a clean cloth followed by a thin coating of silicon-based lubricant.
