Detecting Basics
Quick Start Guide
Step 1: Power On
Switch your detector on. The LCD will light up with several icons. [power button] icon indicates the ON switch.
Step 2: Begin Detecting
Sweep the coil over the ground in a side-to-side motion. The detector will light up and beep when a metal object is found.
Treasure View (GO-FIND 40/60 only)
Treasure View LEDs light up when a metal object has been detected. As you get closer to the target, more LEDs illuminate.
- RED indicates an iron metal object (possibly trash).
- GREEN indicates a non-iron metal object (possibly treasure).
- ORANGE indicates Pinpoint mode for all metal objects.
LEDs will illuminate from left to right when Pinpoint is off. LEDs will illuminate towards the center when Pinpoint is on, helping identify the exact location of the object.
Sweep Level
Keep the coil 1-2 inches (2-3 cm) above and parallel to the ground at all times.
Speed
Sweep the coil over the ground in a side-to-side motion. An average sweep speed is 1-2 seconds from left to right.
Item Found
The detector will light up and beep when a target is discovered.
Adjustment
The detector should be straight with your forearm and feel light and comfortable when you pick it up.
Overlap Sweep
Slightly overlap the previous sweep to ensure full ground coverage.
Space
Recommended distance is 50 feet (15 m) apart when multiple users are scanning an area.
Icon Descriptions
When a metal object is detected, the corresponding icon will flash on the control panel to indicate the target type. If the icon is turned off (not visible), then these object types will not be detected.
- E.g. Iron objects, nails and horseshoes.
- E.g. Aluminium foil and lower value coins.
- E.g. Rings, pull tabs and lower value coins.
- E.g. Low and high value coins and screw caps.
Control Panel
The control panel features various buttons and indicators for operating the detector.
- 1. Power Switch (ON/OFF): [power button] to turn the detector on or off.
- 2. Ear Buds Output: 1/8" connector for headphones.
- 3. Sensitivity: Increase for more detecting depth. Decrease if there is high noise interference or false signals.
- 4. Pinpoint (GO-FIND 40/60 only): Button to determine the exact location of a target.
- 5. Volume: Adjusts the audio output level.
- 6. Backlight (GO-FIND 40/60 only): Activates the display backlight.
- 7. Find Mode: Button to cycle through different modes for detecting and rejecting specific metal objects. [find button] icon.
- 8. Depth Indication: Displays the approximate depth of a detected target (Shallow | Medium | Deep).
- 9. Treasure View LED (GO-FIND 40/60 only): Red and green LEDs help quickly identify treasure from trash.
- 10. Find Icons (x 4): Displays icons representing detected target types.
- 11. Battery Level: Indicates the remaining battery power. [battery symbol]
- 12. Bluetooth (GO-FIND 40/60 only): [bluetooth symbol] indicator for Bluetooth connectivity.
Audio Output: A 1/8" connector is located at the rear, also serving as the speaker output.
Find Modes
FIND modes allow you to search for specific groups of metal objects by accepting or rejecting detection. This helps avoid digging unwanted items.
Cycle through the different modes using the Find button [find button].
GO-FIND 20 (Select from 2 find modes)
- Mode 1: Detects iron objects.
- Mode 2: Detects rings, pull tabs, and lower value coins.
GO-FIND 40 (Select from 3 find modes)
- Mode 1: Detects iron objects.
- Mode 2: Detects rings, pull tabs, and lower value coins.
- Mode 3: Detects high value coins and screw caps.
GO-FIND 60 (Select from 4 find modes)
- Mode 1: Detects iron objects.
- Mode 2: Detects rings, pull tabs, and lower value coins.
- Mode 3: Detects high value coins and screw caps.
- Mode 4: Detects aluminium foil and lower value coins.
Detector Sounds
The detector beeps when an object is detected. This sound can be heard through the detector speaker or through headphones connected to the audio output socket.
GO-FIND 20 (2 different audio tones)
- Tone 1: LOW
- Tone 2: HIGH
GO-FIND 40 (3 different audio tones)
- Tone 1: LOW
- Tone 2: MID 1
- Tone 3: HIGH
GO-FIND 60 (4 different audio tones)
- Tone 1: LOW
- Tone 2: MID 1
- Tone 3: MID 2
- Tone 4: HIGH
Tone Descriptions:
- LOW TONE: Iron targets (such as nails) produce the lowest tone.
- MID 1 TONE (GO-FIND 40/60 ONLY): Less valuable metals produce a lower medium tone.
- MID 2 TONE (GO-FIND 60 ONLY): Higher value metals produce a higher medium tone.
- HIGH TONE: Silver and copper targets produce the highest tone.
Set Up
Download App
Download the GO-FIND app from www.itunes.com or play.google.com.
NOTE: The GO-FIND App works with GO-FIND 40/60 only. The Pro App is FREE with GO-FIND 60 only.

Assembly Steps
- Step 1: Your GO-FIND detector requires no assembly or tools. Simply remove the detector from the box. Remove unlock caution tape.
- Step 2: Press down the red UNLOCK button on both sides to release the handle. Failure to press the unlock button when releasing the handle will cause damage.
- Step 3: Insert 4 x 1.5V AA (LR6) batteries (not included). [battery symbol]
- Step 4: Slide out the armrest to desired length (typically just under your elbow).
- Step 5: Fold out the search coil to detect parallel with the ground (refer to Detecting Basics). Tighten the wing nut to fix the coil position. Be careful not to over tighten.
- Step 6: Fully extend the lower shaft and CLICK into place (or leave collapsed for shorter detector length). Refer to 'Detecting Basics' for adjusting to correct length. To retract shaft, firmly tap on the base of the coil.
- Step 7: Release the camlock lever to adjust the upper shaft to desired length, for your height.
- Step 8: Adjust the armrest strap to securely fit around your arm.
Waterproof Coil: The coil is waterproof up to 2ft (0.6m).
Accessories Included (supplied with GO-FIND 60 model only): Ear buds | Digging tool | Phone holder.
WARNING: This device contains moving parts. Use caution when adjusting components. DO NOT lean on detector when in use as it is not designed to support your weight.
