Collar Fitting
For best results, fit the collar properly so the Contact Points press firmly against the dog's skin. You should be able to fit one finger between the Receiver Collar and the dog's neck.
- Too tight: May cause the dog to breathe heavily.
- Too loose: The Receiver Collar may move around, and the Contact Points could hurt the dog's skin.
Caution:
- Do not shave the pet's neck, as this may increase the risk of skin irritation.
- The collar should not be worn for more than 12 hours per day, as it may cause skin irritation.
Find the Best Shock Level for Your Pet
The unit has Up and Down buttons to control Shock Level (1 is lowest, 16 is highest). The appropriate level depends on your dog's temperament and sensitivity. Always start at the lowest level and gradually increase. The correct level is when the dog shows a mild reaction, such as an ear flick, lip lick, or neck muscle tension. The required Shock Level may vary depending on the training situation and distractions.
