Document Type: Instruction Manual
Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your Haier HH-OT53P Cooker Hood. Please read it carefully before use and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
Safety Instructions
Never to do:
Do not use the cooker hood without grease filters or if they are excessively greasy.
Do not install above a cooker with a high-level grill.
Never leave frying pans unattended during use due to the risk of fire from overheated fats or oils.
Never leave naked flames under the cooker hood.
If the cooker hood is damaged, do not attempt to use it.
Do not flambé under the cooker hood.
CAUTION: Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
Maintain a minimum distance of 65 cm between the hob's cooking vessel surface and the lowest part of the cooker hood when installed above a gas appliance.
Air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from gas or other fuel appliances.
Always to do:
Important! Always switch off the electricity supply at the mains during installation and maintenance (e.g., light bulb replacement).
Install the cooker hood in accordance with the installation instructions and all measurements.
All installation work must be carried out by a competent person or qualified electrician.
Dispose of packing material carefully; it can be a hazard to children.
Be aware of sharp edges inside the cooker hood, especially during installation and cleaning.
Ensure ducting has no bends sharper than 90 degrees to maintain efficiency.
Warning: Failure to install screws or fixing devices correctly may result in electrical hazards.
Warning: Disconnect all supply circuits before accessing terminals.
Always put lids on pots and pans when cooking on a gas cooker.
Ensure proper room ventilation when the cooker hood is in extraction mode, as it removes odours but not steam.
This cooker hood is for domestic use only.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if supervised or instructed on safe use and hazards. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.
Caution: The appliance and its accessible parts can become hot during operation. Avoid touching heating elements. Children younger than 8 years old should stay away unless under permanent supervision.
Ensure adequate room ventilation when the cooker hood is used simultaneously with gas or other fuel appliances.
There is a fire risk if cleaning is not performed according to instructions.
Fulfil regulations concerning air discharge.
Clean the appliance periodically as described in the MAINTENANCE chapter.
Use only the recommended fixing or mounting screws.
Refer to the maintenance and cleaning section for method and frequency.
When the cooker hood and non-electric appliances are operating simultaneously, the room's negative pressure must not exceed 4 Pa (4 x 10⁻⁵ bar).
WARNING: Danger of fire: Do not store items on cooking surfaces.
A steam cleaner is not to be used.
NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water; switch off the appliance and cover the flame with a lid or fire blanket.

Installation (Vent Outside)
Mounting of the V-Flap
If the cooker hood does not have an assembled V-flap, mount the half-parts to its body. The images show an example; the outlet may vary by model.
To mount the V-flap:
Mount two half-parts into the body.
Ensure the pin is oriented upwards.
Insert the axis into the designated holes on the body.
Repeat for the second half-part.

General Installation Steps
If you have an outlet to the outside, connect the cooker hood using an extraction duct (enamel, aluminum, flexible pipe, or non-flammable material with an interior diameter of 150mm).
Before installation, turn the unit off and unplug it from the outlet.
Position the cooker hood at a distance of 65-75cm above the cooking surface for best effect. Diagram: Illustration showing the recommended installation height (65-75cm) above a hob.
Install a hook in a suitable place at the fixed installation height, ensuring it is in line. The fixed position of the inside chimney bracket indicates the chimney's location. Diagram: Illustration showing the placement of a wall hook and the inside chimney bracket.
Install the expansion pipe and chimney onto the cooker hood. Fix the outside chimney bracket onto the outside chimney, ensuring the inside chimney can be adjusted for height and the expansion pipe is secured to the outlet with a cable tie. Diagrams: Illustrations showing the expansion pipe, chimney, cable tie, and outside chimney bracket installation.
Place the cooker hood onto the installed hook. Diagram: Illustration showing the cooker hood being hung on the hook.
Connect the expansion pipe to the wall outlet and secure the body with safety screws. Adjust the height of the inside chimney to align with the inside chimney bracket and fix it with screws. Note: Two safety vents (6mm diameter) are positioned on the back housing. Diagrams: Illustrations showing the expansion pipe connected to the wall outlet and the chimney height adjustment.
Hints for Exhaust Duct Installation
Follow these rules for optimal air extraction:
Keep the expansion pipe short and straight.
Do not reduce the size or restrict the expansion pipe.
Install the expansion pipe pulled taut to minimize pressure loss.
Failure to follow these instructions will reduce performance and increase noise levels.
All installation work must be done by a qualified electrician or competent person.
Do not connect the hood's ducting system to any existing ventilation system used for other appliances (e.g., warmer tubes, gas tubes, hot wind tubes).
The bend angle of the expansion pipe should not be less than 120°. Direct the pipe horizontally, or upwards from the initial point towards an outer wall.
After installation, ensure the cooker hood is level to prevent grease collection.
Ensure the selected expansion pipe complies with relevant standards and is fire retardant.
