Factory / Hard Reset

Introduction

This guide explains how to perform a master reset on the Nokia Lumia 530, RM-1017, RM-1019. This process can be used to bypass a password screen lock or erase all personal content from the device.

Step 1 - Factory / Hard Reset

Follow these steps to perform a factory reset:

1. Switch off the device.
2. Press and hold the Power button until the phone vibrates.
3. Release the Power button and immediately press and hold down the Volume Down button. An exclamation mark (!) should appear on the display.
4. Press the following sequence of buttons: Volume Up, Volume Down, Power button, Volume Down.
5. The phone will restart and reset to its original factory settings.
