Nokia Service Codes
This document outlines various service codes and features for different Nokia mobile phone models.
Nokia 3650
* # 06 #: Displays the unit number (IMEI).* # 7370 #: Resets the phone to factory settings.* # 0000 #: Displays the software version number.* # 7780 #: Restores the phone to original settings.
Safe Mode: Activated by holding ABC + Power button.
Nokia 3210, 3310, 8210, 8310, 8850
- Displays serial phone number (IMEI).

- Line 2: Release Date of software.
- Line 3: Phone Type.
Guarantee Codes
Enter * # 92702689 # (* # war0anty #) for warranty information. You may be prompted for a "warranty code".
The service menu displays:
- IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identification)
- Phone Release Date MM / YY
- Phone purchase date (can be entered, but not changed later)
- Repair date (if any)
- Transfer user data?
EFR and HFR Modes
- EFR (Enhanced Full Rate): Improves call quality, uses more battery (approx. 5%).
- HFR (Half Rate): Extends battery life (approx. 30%), reduces call quality.
Activate EFR: * 3370 # (consumes more power). After entering, the phone restarts.
Deactivate EFR: # 3370 #. After entering, the phone restarts.
Activate Half Rate: * 4720 # (reduced power consumption). After entering, the phone restarts.
Deactivate Half Rate: # 4720 #. After entering, the phone restarts.
Note: In newer software versions, full-size encoding mode may be selected by default.
SIM Clock Status
Check SIM Clock status: * # 746025625 # (* # sim0clock #). This keeps the SIM in a low-power state.
LOC Determination Codes
Nokia phones can have 4 types of locks:
- SPROVIDER-LOCK - 1
- NETWORK-LOCK - 2
- COUNTRY-LOCK - 3
- SIMCARD-LOCK - 4
To verify lock status, enter: # Pw + (MASTERCODE) + (y) #, where:
- P = press * 3 times
- W = press * 4 times
- + = press * 2 times
- MASTERCODE = the code specific to your device's lock.
- y = number from 1 to 4 (corresponding to the lock type).

General Phone Information
- Release Date 3rd string: Indicates phone type (GSM 900, 1800, 1900).
- EFR Inclusion:

Power Button Functions
- Brief press: Displays profile menu.
- Second press: Turns off the phone.
- Up/Down keys: Scroll through and change settings.
Speed Dialing
# 54: Dial 1 # to 54 # on the keypad to access speed dial numbers.
Phone Book Display
Pressing the # key in the phone book displays the phone number in large font.
IMEI Security Code Information
The IMEI contains:
- XXXXXX XX XXXXXX X
- TAC: Type Approval Code (country code is the first 2 digits).
- FAC: Final Assembly Code (e.g., 10 for Nokia).
- SNR: Serial number.
- SP: Spare (usually 0).

Troubleshooting & Tricks
- Call Menu: During a call, press and hold the Menu button for 3 seconds to access options like transfer, mute.
- Quick Messages: When typing a message, wait a few seconds before typing consecutive identical characters. Pressing
#twice then the character is faster.
