Important Safety Instructions
⚠️ READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR APPLIANCE.
Basic precautions include:
- Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug before servicing.
- Do not expose to rain; store indoors.
- Always install float before wet pick-up.
- Use only BISSELL cleaning formulas to prevent damage.
- Keep children supervised when using the appliance.
- Do not use for purposes other than described in this guide.
- Keep appliance on a level surface.
- Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not put objects into openings; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, etc.
- Keep body parts away from openings and moving parts.
- Turn OFF all controls before plugging/unplugging.
- Use extra care when cleaning stairs.
- Do not pick up flammable or combustible materials (e.g., lighter fluid, gasoline).
- Do not pick up hot or burning materials (e.g., cigarettes, ashes).
- Unplug before filling, rinsing, or cleaning.
- Do not turn over cleaning nozzle or touch its surface.
- Do not apply hot water directly to people or animals.
- Familiarize yourself with all instructions and operating procedures before turning ON.
- Do not use as a toy.
- Do not direct liquid towards electrical components.
- Do not use in enclosed spaces with paint fumes, paint thinner, moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or explosive vapors.
- Do not pick up toxic materials (e.g., bleach, ammonia).
- Do not pick up hard or sharp objects (e.g., glass, nails, coins).
- Plastic film can be dangerous; keep away from children.
- Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.
- Plastic tanks are not dishwasher safe.
- Do not unplug by pulling cord; grasp plug.

? GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS: This appliance must be connected to a grounded wiring system. If it malfunctions, grounding provides a safe path of least resistance. The cord has an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. It must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
Assembly
Tools included in box may differ by model. Check carton contents list on the top flap of the box.
- Wrap hose around bottom of machine.
- Secure hose on hose clip.
Filling the Formula Tank
This machine is compatible with BISSELL® formulas made for portable carpet cleaners. Always use genuine BISSELL formulas.
- Choose your formula.
- Remove clean tank by gripping handle and lifting up.
- Unscrew cap.
- Add warm water (max 140°F/60°C) to the appropriate fill line based on mess size: Small Area: 14 oz, Large Area: 28 oz. Do not use boiling water or heat water in microwave.
- Add formula to the corresponding fill line: Small Area: 2 oz, Large Area: 4 oz.
- Replace and tighten cap. Align tank with machine and press down until it clicks into place.
Compatible BISSELL formulas include: PET PRO OXY Spot & Stain, PRO OXY Spot & Stain, Little Green® OXY Spot & Stain, Simply Spot & Stain.
Getting Ready to Clean
Before you begin:
- Vacuum to remove loose dirt.
- Spray BISSELL® stain pretreat formula on soiled areas and let sit for a few minutes.
- For upholstery, work in small sections.
Steps:
- Unwrap hose.
- Attach desired tool to end of hose grip until it clicks.
- Unwrap power cord and plug into a grounded outlet.
- Turn machine ON by flipping power switch to ON (I).
- Optional: Use ProHeat® Technology. Activate heater with ProHeat switch (?). Wait 30 seconds for water to heat. Once ProHeat light illuminates, hold trigger over sink or bowl to clear previous water use (up to 10 seconds).
Using the Tools
Tools included in box will differ by model. Check the top flap of the box for contents.
Spraying Crevice Tool
- While holding tool above stained area, press and hold trigger to spray solution.
- Release trigger, press tool firmly against surface, and pull toward you to remove stain. Repeat as needed.
3-in-1 Stair Tool
- Twist tool to desired position. The downward facing edge is the active cleaning mode.
- Use on stairs 3 ways:
- a. Flat edge for stair treads.
- b. Indented area for outside corners.
- c. Pointed edge for crevices.
- Point tool approx. 1 inch above spot/stain, press spray trigger. Suction stain by placing tool on carpet and moving backward slowly.
Self-Cleaning Tough Stain Tool
- Turn machine OFF.
- Choose cleaning method: bristle block for soft surfaces, or rubberized block for embedded pet hair/debris.
- Pull bottom latch to release bristle block.
- Insert preferred tool block; it will click into place.
- Slide tool lever up to ensure SPRAY mode.
- Hold tool above desired area, press and hold trigger to spray solution.
- Release trigger and gently scrub stain with bristles.
- With trigger released, press tool firmly against surface and pull toward you to remove stain. Repeat as needed.
Cleanout Function:
- Turn machine ON. Slide tool lever down for cleanout mode.
- Press trigger to activate CLEANOUT function. Solution mixture flows through tool and hose.
- Slide tool lever upward to return to spray mode.
Emptying the Dirty Water Tank
Steps:
- Empty dirty water tank when "MAX" full line is reached. Do not allow water level to exceed MAX line.
- Tilt and pull away dirty water tank to remove from machine.
- Pull up on dirty tank lid to remove.
- Pour out dirty water and rinse tank.
- Reinstall tank lid.
- To reinstall tank, tilt and rotate tank back into place. Push firmly near top until it clicks.
Cleaning and Storing Your Machine
Cleaning:
- To disconnect tools, push button above hose grip and pull straight off (do not twist).
- For models with Self-Cleaning Tough Stain Tool: Remove tool lens and rinse.
- Rinse tools under clean running water. Allow tools to dry.
Storing:
- When finished, wrap cord and hose for storage.
- Store indoors in a dry location where product is not likely to get damaged.
NOTICE: Do not store where freezing may occur. Damage to internal components may result. Store machine in a protected, dry area at room temperature (40°F - 104°F).
