Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:

Grounding Instructions: This appliance must be connected to a grounded wiring system. The cord has an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. Plug into a properly installed and grounded outlet according to local codes. Do not modify the plug. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This model is for household use only.

WARNING: Improper connection of the grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock.

Do not use the Little Green if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water. Have it repaired at an Authorized Service Center. Unplug by grasping the plug, not the cord.

Product View and Assembly

Product Components:

Cleaning Fluids: Use genuine BISSELL 2X formulas for optimal cleaning and to avoid voiding the warranty. Recommended formulas include:

Assembly: Assembly requires a Phillips head screwdriver.

  1. Attach the flex hose clip: Slide the back plate into the opening on the front of the unit until it snaps into place.
  2. Attach the flex hose storage bracket: Slide the lower plate into the opening on the back of the unit, aligning screw holes. Insert and tighten the screw.
  3. Secure the hose: Wrap the flex hose around the unit and place the hose grip into the bracket. Turn the bracket latch counter-clockwise to lock it.

Diagram Description: The product view illustrates the BISSELL Little Green cleaner, labeling components like the Clean Tank, Power Switch, Tank Release Latch, Dirty Tank, Flex Hose, Tough Stain Brush, and storage features. Assembly steps show how to attach the hose clip and storage bracket.

Operations

Getting Ready

  1. Fill the Clean Water/Solution Tank:
    • Lift the tank straight up and away from the unit.
    • Unscrew the black cap at the bottom and remove the bottle insert.
    • Measure 4 oz. (2 capfuls) of BISSELL 2X formula into the tank.
    • Fill the tank with hot (not boiling) tap water to the WATER fill line.
    • Replace and tighten the black cap. DO NOT BOIL OR MICROWAVE WATER.
    • Replace the tank by aligning the guides on the unit with the tank indentations and sliding it down.
  2. Release the Flex Hose: Twist the bracket latch clockwise to unwrap the hose completely.
  3. Attach the Tough Stain Brush Tool: Insert the tool onto the spray trigger firmly until the button lock snaps into place. Ensure it is securely attached.
  4. Connect Power: Twist the Quick Release cord wrap clockwise to unwrap the power cord. Plug into a 120 Volt grounded outlet.
  5. Spray: Press and hold the spray trigger. Spray will start in a few seconds. Raise the tool slightly to check for spray.

Pre-treating

For heavily stained or soiled areas:

  1. Hold the cleaning tool about 1" above the soiled surface.
  2. Press the trigger to spray cleaning solution directly onto the area.
  3. Wait 3-5 minutes before cleaning.

WARNING: Do not use this product on a ladder, where it can be stepped on or kicked, or on an elevated surface where it may be pulled off.

WARNING: Do not use an extension cord with this product, as it may cause severe electrical shock.

WARNING: Use only BISSELL 2X portable machine formulas. Formulas with lemon or pine oil, chemical spot cleaners, or solvent-based removers may damage the appliance and void the warranty.

Diagram Description: Operations diagrams show the process of filling the clean water tank (1A-1D), releasing the flex hose (2), attaching the brush tool (3), plugging in the power cord (4), and testing the spray (5).

Cleaning with your Little Green

  1. Hold the tool approximately 1" above the soiled surface. Press the spray trigger to apply cleaning solution.
  2. Gently scrub the area with the brush on the tool.
  3. For thorough cleaning, spray additional solution while the brush and suction are in contact with the surface.
  4. Apply downward pressure and pull the tool towards you. The suction will remove dirt and solution. Continue until no more dirt is removed.
  5. Use "drying strokes" (without pressing the spray trigger) to remove as much liquid/moisture as possible. Repeat as needed.

Maintenance and Care

After Cleaning:

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Empty and rinse the dirty water/collection tank after each use, or when the dirty water reaches the maximum fill line. Lift the tank release latch to remove the tank.
  3. Disconnect the cleaning tool from the spray trigger by pushing down on the button lock and pulling straight off. Do NOT twist the tool to remove it.
  4. Clean the tool by rinsing it under running water.
  5. Check the spray nozzle for dirt or debris. Clean with a soft bristle brush if necessary.

Machine Storage:

  1. Wipe all surfaces with a soft cloth.
  2. Wrap the power cord around the cord wrap on the back of the unit.
  3. Wrap the flex hose around the base of the unit and secure the spray trigger.
  4. Store the unit in a protected, dry area at room temperature (40° to 110°F).

IMPORTANT: Check upholstery tags before cleaning. "W" or "WS" indicates it's safe for your Little Green. "S" (with a diagonal strike-through) or "Dry Clean Only" means do not proceed. If the tag is missing or uncoded, consult your furniture dealer.

Tip: Deep cleaning stairs and high-traffic areas regularly can prolong carpet life.

Tip: Check upholstery stuffing before cleaning. Colored stuffing may bleed through the fabric when wet.

Tip: Before turning off the unit, suction clean water through the flex hose to rinse the interior. Then, lift the cleaning tool and point it upwards to drain any remaining water into the dirty water/collection tank.

WARNING: Keep spray away from face to prevent personal injury.
