Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. What is the default password for the App access device?

The default password is "8888". It is recommended to change this default password for security. Resetting the device can restore the password to the default.

  2. Why the camera could not connect to Wi-Fi router, Or the connection is not stable?

Ensure your Wi-Fi SSID and password do not contain special characters or non-English letters. Using only numbers and English letters is recommended. Verify that the Wi-Fi password is correct and case-sensitive. Make sure only one SSID is active and named as you choose. Prefer a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network over a 5GHz network. Ensure your Wi-Fi security is set to WPA or WPA2, not WEP. Position the camera closer to your router, as distance and barriers can affect network quality. As a last resort, restore your camera to factory default settings and try again.

  3. Why can't the search tool detect the camera?

Confirm that the network cable or Wi-Fi connection is active. Temporarily disable firewalls and security software on your computer. Ensure the camera is connected to the router, not directly to the computer.

  4. Why does the camera web always ask for username and password, or it says "incorrect user"?

The camera's default username is [admin]. The default password is often left blank (N/A). If you forget your credentials, you can reset the camera to factory settings to retrieve the default username and password.

  5. Why can't I get live video in a web browser?

You may need to download and install a specific plug-in before viewing live video. If live video still doesn't appear, check if the plug-in is enabled within your web browser's settings.

  6. How can I reset the camera to factory settings?

Locate the reset button on or under the camera. Press and hold it for approximately 3 to 5 seconds until the camera's indicator light turns off. Ensure the camera is powered on during this process.

  7. Why can't the camera record videos?

When using a web browser, ensure it is running as an administrator. Right-click the browser icon and select "Run as Administrator". For the Android app, an inserted TF card (microSD card) is required before recording can begin.

  8. Why is the image blurry?

Remove any protective film from the camera lens. Gently rotate the lens to achieve a clear focus.

  9. How can I improve it when the live video appears in black screen but showing no image?

Triple-click the app name displayed in the title bar of the live video page. This action switches the decoding mode from hardware to software. By default, the app uses a hardware decoder for efficiency, but switching to software decode mode can sometimes resolve display issues.

  10. Why is there no sound when recording?

The Z16 camera model does not feature a built-in speaker or recording function. This version is designed as a silent monitoring device and does not support audio recording.
