Product Overview

This document is the user manual for the Samba application module designed for Advantech RouterApp devices. Samba is a standard Windows interoperability suite of programs for Linux and Unix, enabling the creation of a Samba server on the router.

Note: The Router app is not included in the standard router firmware. Instructions for uploading this router app are detailed in the Configuration manual, which can be found in the Related Documents section.

Module Description

Samba is the standard Windows interoperability suite of programs for Linux and Unix. The Router app Samba handles the creation of a Samba server on the Advantech router.

Web Interface

Once the installation of the Samba module is complete, its Graphical User Interface (GUI) can be accessed by clicking the module name on the Router apps page of the router's web interface.

The left side of the GUI presents a menu with the following sections:

  • Status: System Log
  • Configuration: Samba
  • Information: Licenses
  • Customization: Contains only the 'Return' item, which switches back from the module's web page to the router's main web configuration pages.

Configuration

Global Settings

All Samba router app settings can be configured by selecting the 'Global' item in the main menu of the module's web interface. The following configurable items are available:

Drive nameEnter drive name.

Interface eth1Enable Samba interface of eth1 port.
