Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Toot-Toot Drivers Remote Control Racer. Grab the steering wheel-shaped remote control and race to victory with the Toot-Toot Drivers Remote Control Racer! This powerful race car will entertain your little one with playful music, fun sounds and phrases. Use the remote control to drive the racer over SmartPoint locations to hear fun phrases, sounds, short tunes and sing-along songs.

Unlock the packaging locks:

Getting Started

Battery Installation – Vehicle

1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the race car. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 3 new AAA (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

Battery Installation - Remote Control

1. Locate the battery cover on the back of the remote control. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
2. Install 2 new AAA (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
3. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

Battery Notice

• Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
• Do not use damaged batteries.
• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.

Product Features

1. OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH – VEHICLE

To turn the unit ON, slide the OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the REMOTE CONTROL MODE (MOTOR) or STANDARD MODE position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF position.

2. CHANNEL SELECTOR SWITCH

To allow the Remote Control Racer and remote control to function together, slide the CHANNEL SELECTOR SWITCH to the same location on the Remote Control Racer and remote control.

Note: If two or three Remote Control Racers are operating in the same vicinity, place each unit on a different channel. (A maximum of three Remote Control Racers can operate in one location.)

3. FORWARD/BACKWARD BUTTONS

In REMOTE CONTROL MODE, press the FORWARD BUTTON or BACKWARD BUTTON on the remote to make the race car go forward or backward. (The effective distance for the race car to recognise the remote control is 9 ft. to 18 ft. The distance will be shorter when the batteries are low.)

Safety Warning

For your child's safety, only use the motorised car on Toot-Toot Drivers play sets. Do not roll the car on your clothing, body or hair while the motorised car is turned on. If something gets caught in the car's wheels while the motor is on, lift the car up so it is no longer touching your child or slide the mode selector switch to the off position to turn off the motor.

4. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF

To preserve battery life, the VTech® Toot-Toot Drivers Remote Control Racer will automatically power down after approximately 60 seconds without input in STANDARD MODE and 120 seconds in REMOTE CONTROL MODE. In STANDARD MODE, the unit can be turned on again by pressing the light-up face button or pushing the vehicle. In REMOTE CONTROL MODE, press the light-up face button or turn the unit off and on to turn the unit on. (The remote control cannot wake up the race car.)

Note: The Remote Control Racer is in try-me mode in the packaging. After opening the package, turn the vehicle off and on again to proceed with normal play.

Note: For optimal performance, keep your Toot-Toot Driver Remote Control Racer indoors and out of direct sunlight.

Activities

1. Slide the race car's OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to either REMOTE CONTROL MODE or STANDARD MODE to turn the race car ON. You will hear a song, a phrase and sounds. The light-up face button will flash with the sounds.
2. Press the light-up face button to hear race car sounds, songs and phrases. The light-up face button will flash with the sounds.
3. When the race car is in STANDARD MODE, push the race car to hear fun sounds and melodies. While a melody is playing, push the vehicle again to add in fun sounds on top of the melody. The light-up face button will flash with the sounds.
4. For remote control play, turn the race car to REMOTE CONTROL MODE (MOTOR). To drive the race car with the remote control, put both items on the same CHANNEL SELECTOR SWITCH number. Once both items are on the same channel, press the forward or backward button on the remote for some racing fun!
5. Operate up to three vehicles at once by putting each Remote Control Racer on a different channel number using the CHANNEL SELECTOR SWITCH! (Each Remote Control Racer sold separately.)
6. For added fun, the Remote Control Racer interacts with other Toot-Toot Drivers play sets. Simply roll or navigate the race car over one of the play set's SmartPoint locations to see the light flash and to hear greetings, fun sounds, short tunes and sing-along songs (each play set sold separately).

Care & Maintenance

1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

Troubleshooting

If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit sit for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new batteries.

1. The product detailed above is covered by a one year warranty from the date of purchase, against any defects in materials or workmanship.
2. The product may be returned to the place of purchase. Alternatively the product can be returned to VTech Electronics Europe plc (see address below), with proof of purchase, without proof of purchase no replacement will be provided.
3. VTech Electronics Europe plc will examine the product and if it is found to be defective due to faulty materials or workmanship, will replace the product at their discretion.
4. If the product covered by this warranty is damaged due to misuse, modification or unauthorised repair, or because of faulty batteries, battery discharge or incorrect electrical connections, then this warranty becomes void.
5. This warranty is personal to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
6. Breakages to the LCD screen are not covered by the warranty.
7. Returns to VTech Electronics Europe plc should include a cheque or postal order for £1.50 towards the cost of return postage and packaging.
8. Products returned to VTech Electronics Europe plc, should be addressed as follows and packed carefully to avoid damage in transit (Please do not include batteries or adaptor).
