Getting Started

You can start with a complete setup or begin with just a few pieces. For the full smart home experience, choose our connected ecosystem for all occasions. Alternatively, start on a smaller scale and choose to control individual products.

Ecosystem

Select a network gateway and the TRÅDFRI app to create a connected ecosystem for controlling lights, sound, and other products in your home. The TRÅDFRI network gateway and IKEA Home smart are the most important tools for creating a smart home ecosystem. With them, you can easily and quickly create smart functions and control them as you wish. You can start with any number of connected products and add up to 50 units to the gateway when you are ready to expand the system.

Individual Products

Opt for a TRÅDFRI remote control and smart light sources for additional functions and control with minimal installation. The remote control allows you to turn lights on/off, adjust brightness, and change color for up to 10 light sources simultaneously.

Network gateway + app = the perfect combination. Add smart lighting, smart blinds, and control outlets to the TRÅDFRI gateway and control them with the IKEA Home smart app. This allows you to control each light source individually, create different lighting types, and raise/lower your smart blinds.

To get the full smart home experience, you need to add the TRÅDFRI network gateway to your home network and download the IKEA Home Smart app. Each product is designed to work well on its own, but you need the gateway for advanced functionality, such as:

Start Your Day the Best Way with a Button Press

With the shortcut button next to your bed, you can turn on lights, raise blinds, and play your favorite music to wake up. If placed near your home's entrance, you can turn off all lights simultaneously when leaving. The TRÅDFRI shortcut button allows you to create the right atmosphere for any occasion. Use the shortcut button to control lights, music, and other IKEA Home smart products all at once in any room.

With the shortcut button, you can activate different scenes without using your phone. You need the TRÅDFRI gateway and the IKEA Home smart app to use the shortcut button. Connect the TRÅDFRI shortcut button to your phone to use the button alone to activate any scene you've created in the app. Add the TRÅDFRI gateway and IKEA Home smart app for control via Apple HomeKit. In the IKEA Home smart app, you can select the scene you want to connect to the specific button. You can have various shortcut buttons connected to different scenes in your home.

Easier Cooking Than Ever

Using smart lighting is now very easy for everyone. Decide what you want for dinner tonight. Use the integrated kitchen lighting to create the right mood for cooking. The TRÅDFRI transformer for wireless control allows you to connect IKEA integrated lighting – turn on, turn off, and adjust brightness to always have the right lighting and mood at home. You can connect up to 3 units to the transformer, provided the total wattage does not exceed the transformer's capacity. A blinking light indicates that the transformer's maximum wattage has been exceeded. If you want to use more than one transformer, ensure you synchronize each transformer with the TRÅDFRI remote control or wireless dimmer so the entire setup is controlled simultaneously. Make your kitchen lighting smart by adding the TRÅDFRI gateway. With the gateway, you can control your lights via the IKEA Home smart app and create atmosphere along with the rest of your TRÅDFRI lighting.

MITTLED Countertop Lighting Installation

You can easily install MITTLED countertop lighting yourself. See the list of products and accessories you need below:

Choose LED Transformer

If you want to connect your kitchen lighting to IKEA Home smart:

There are 2 TRÅDFRI LED transformers. Choose based on how many units you want to connect. You can connect up to 3 units to the 10W LED transformer, provided the total wattage does not exceed 10W. The 30W LED transformer can support up to 9 units, with a maximum wattage of 30W. You can connect up to 10 transformers in one installation cable.

Flashing lights indicate that the transformer's maximum wattage has been exceeded. If you want to use more than one transformer, ensure you synchronize each transformer with the TRÅDFRI remote control or wireless dimmer so the entire setup is controlled simultaneously. Make your kitchen lighting smart by adding the TRÅDFRI gateway. With the gateway, you can control your lights via the IKEA Home smart app and create atmosphere along with the rest of your TRÅDFRI lighting. You can also control your lighting with your voice (e.g., with Apple HomeKit or Google Home).

Welcome Home!

Everyone needs a little help and a warm welcome when returning home from work or school. The entryway is the ideal place to install motion-sensor lighting. Everything is simpler now!

Choose the location for the motion sensor. It has a maximum range of 10 meters from the light source (without intervening walls) and a motion detection range of 5 meters with a 120° angle.

Set the motion sensor to a day or night program. In the day program, it always activates with motion, while in the night program, it activates with motion when it's dark. Set the duration for the light to turn off after 1.5 or 10 minutes.

The bulb and motion sensor in the set are already paired. Install the TRÅDFRI bulb and turn on the light fixture.

If you want to add more light sources to the motion sensor, keep the motion sensor close to the light source (no more than 5 cm away). Press and hold the pairing button for at least 10 seconds, and you will see a red light on the motion sensor. The light source's intensity will start to dim and blink as an indication that pairing was successful.

Motion Control

If you want the light to turn on and off automatically when there is motion, choose the motion sensor and one LED bulb with warm white light (2700 Kelvin).

You can adjust the brightness of the connected lighting with the TRÅDFRI wireless dimmer and connect it to the TRÅDFRI gateway. (Up to 30W, connects up to 5 units).

FLOALT LED Lighting Panel: Wireless control, white spectrum, transformer included. Complete with FORNIMMA power cable. Add FORNIMMA intermediate connection cable if you want to connect more LED lighting panels. Integrated LED lighting with a lifespan of approximately 25,000 hours. Energy consumption: 30x30 cm - 36kWh/year, 60x60 cm - 84.68 kWh/year, and 30x90 cm – 99.28 kWh/year, if LED panels are on for up to 8 hours/day.
