Important Safety Instructions

This refrigeration appliance complies with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and material damage.

Please read the operating and installation instructions carefully before using the refrigeration appliance for the first time. They contain important information on safety, installation, use, and maintenance. This is to protect yourself from injury, and from damaging your refrigeration appliance.

Miele expressly and strongly advises that you read and follow the instructions in the chapter on installing the refrigeration appliance as well as in the "IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS".

Miele cannot be held liable for injury or damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions.

Keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any future owner.

  • DANGER of suffocation! Ensure that any packing material is disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of children.

Technical Safety

  • To avoid the risk of damage to the appliance, make sure that the connection data (fuse rating, frequency and voltage) on the data plate corresponds to the household supply. Check that this is the case before connecting the appliance. Consult a qualified electrician if in any doubt.
  • The electrical safety of the appliance can only be guaranteed when correctly grounded. It is essential that this standard safety requirement is met. If in any doubt please have the electrical installation tested by a qualified electrician.
  • If the power cord supplied is damaged, it must only be replaced by an original part to prevent a hazard for the user. Miele can only guarantee the safety of the appliance when original Miele parts are used.
  • Do not connect the appliance to the electrical supply with a power bar or extension cord. These are a fire hazard and do not guarantee the required safety of the appliance.
  • If moisture gets into electrical components or into the power cord, it could cause a short circuit. Therefore, do not operate the machine in areas where there may be moisture or splashing water (e.g., garages, laundry rooms).
  • For safety reasons, this appliance may only be used after it has been built in.
  • Unauthorized installation, maintenance, and repairs, or a faulty fresh water connection can cause considerable danger for the user. Installation, maintenance, and repairs, installation work on the fresh water connection, and all repairs on the ice/water outlet must only ever be carried out by a Miele authorized technician.

Proper Installation

  • When installing the refrigeration appliance, it is a mandatory requirement to follow the operating instructions supplied with the appliance.
  • Risk of injury and damage. The refrigeration appliance is very heavy and must be transported by two people.
  • Two people are required to install the appliance.
  • Always wear protective gloves ? while transport and installing the appliance.
  • WARNING! Risk of damage and injury due to the refrigeration appliance tipping over. This refrigeration appliance is very heavy and can tip forward when the door is open. Keep the appliance door(s) closed until the refrigeration appliance has been built in. The refrigeration appliance must be secured in its building-in niche in accordance with the operating and installation instructions.
  • Change the door hinging (if necessary) as described in these installation instructions.
  • Only install the refrigeration appliance in a solid, rectangular, and level housing unit, positioned on an even and level floor.

Section 1: Door Hinging and Initial Mounting

  1. Step 1.1: Prepare the appliance and cabinet for door attachment. This involves attaching mounting plates to the cabinet and the appliance door.
  2. Step 1.2: Attach the door hinges to the appliance. Use screws and adjust as needed. Ensure approximately 5mm clearance.
  3. Step 1.3: Mount the door to the cabinet using the prepared hinges.
  4. Step 1.4: Secure the door to the cabinet hinges.
  5. Step 1.5: Adjust the door alignment. Use adjustment screws to ensure the door is level and closes properly.
  6. Step 1.6: Attach the decorative panel to the appliance door.
  7. Step 1.7: Mount the upper and lower hinge components to the cabinet.
  8. Step 1.8: Adjust the door angle and position. Ensure the door opens up to 180°.
  9. Step 1.9: Attach the door to the main unit, ensuring proper alignment of hinges.
  10. Step 1.10: Final adjustments to the door hinges for smooth operation and alignment.
  11. Step 1.11: Check door operation.
  12. Step 1.12: Verify door opening angles (> 90° or = 90°). Warning ⚠️ regarding incorrect adjustment.
  13. Step 1.13: Final door fitting and check. Ensure the door is correctly seated.
  14. Step 1.14: Check appliance door alignment and seal.

Section 2: Appliance Installation into Cabinet

  2. Step 2.1: Attach mounting brackets to the base of the cabinet using 4x15 screws.
  3. Step 2.2: Mount the appliance into the cabinet, aligning it with the base brackets.
  4. Step 2.3: Install the door opening mechanism/support. Ensure correct angle (90°). Warning ⚠️ against incorrect installation.
  5. Step 2.4: Attach the mounting rail to the cabinet.
  6. Step 2.5: Secure the appliance to the cabinet using screws (4x/6x, 3x13).
  7. Step 2.6: Connect the power cord ? to the appliance.
  8. Step 2.7: Ensure water connection ? is correctly made and check information ?.
  9. Step 2.8: Connect the appliance to the electrical supply ?. Warning ⚠️.
  10. Step 2.9: Insert the appliance into the niche.
  11. Step 2.10: Secure the appliance using screws and wrench SW23.
  12. Step 2.11: Attach specific mounting brackets to the cabinet.
  13. Step 2.12: Mount the appliance into the cabinet and secure it. Warning ⚠️. Ensure correct click ? sound.
  14. Step 2.13: Attach door mounting hardware to the appliance and cabinet. Ensure correct alignment and measurements (16 mm, 19 mm).
  15. Step 2.14: Attach the decorative panel mounting hardware.
  16. Step 2.15: Secure the appliance using screws.
  17. Step 2.16: Attach decorative panel components. Ensure correct click ? sound.
  18. Step 2.17: Final adjustment of the appliance base using wrench SW23.
  19. Step 2.18: Install anti-tip safety rods. Ensure minimum height of 140 cm.
  20. Step 2.19: Attach the decorative panel to the appliance door.
  21. Step 2.20: Final fitting and check of the decorative panel.

Section 3: Attaching the Furniture Door

  2. Step 3.1: Attach mounting hardware to the furniture door using a wrench and ensuring correct alignment.
  3. Step 3.2: Mount the furniture door onto the appliance hinges.
  4. Step 3.3: Secure the furniture door using wrench SW10.
  5. Step 3.4: Adjust the furniture door alignment using adjustment screws.
  6. Step 3.5: Secure the mounting hardware with screws (4x15).
  7. Step 3.6: Further adjustments to the furniture door.
  8. Step 3.7: Ensure the top edge of the furniture door is correctly aligned.
  9. Step 3.8: Fine-tune the furniture door position and alignment using adjustment screws. Ensure specific clearances (≥ 3 mm, ≤ 13 mm, ca. 2mm).
  10. Step 3.9: Final tightening of adjustment screws.
  11. Step 3.10: Attach the furniture door to the appliance using screws (2x/4x/6x, 4x19).
  12. Step 3.11: Final attachment and check of the furniture door. Ensure correct click ? sound.

Section 4: Electrical Connection and Final Checks
