Possible Problems with Binding:
- Wi-Fi Password Error: Ensure the Wi-Fi password entered in the app is correct.
- Authentication Error: Verify your Wi-Fi network is not enterprise-level and supports WPA-2 security.
- Wi-Fi Not Found: Check the Wi-Fi name, ensure the router is powered on, and the camera is within range. Note that 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.
- Retrieving IP Timeout: If too many devices are connected to your router, remove some or restart the router. Contact your router administrator if needed.
- Cloud Service Connection Fail: Check your router's connection to the external network. Ensure the network connection is normal and try temporarily disabling the firewall.
5. Install the Camera
You can place the camera on a shelf or install it on a wall.
5.1 Select a Good Spot for Your Camera
Choose a location where the camera's view is not blocked and it is within Wi-Fi network coverage. The PIR infrared sensor is more sensitive to movements across the camera's field of view than movements towards or away from it.
Illustration shows the camera's field of view (approximately 110°) and a recommended installation height of about 6.5 ft (2 meters).
5.2 Install the Bracket
-
Screw Fixing: Use a drilling tool to punch holes on the wall according to the base's hole distance. Mark the holes with a pencil before drilling. Insert expansion nuts into the holes and then attach the bracket using screws.
Illustrations show the process of drilling holes, inserting wall anchors, and attaching the bracket to the wall with screws.
-
Fix the Camera: Align the bracket screw with the screw hole on the back or bottom of the camera, and rotate it to tighten.

13. FAQ
- 1Q: Camera permission management: How to invite family and friends to use my camera together?
- A: Open the VicoHome app and select your camera on the home page. Click the share button on the home page or the "Share" option in the camera settings to enter the sharing page. Then, click "Invite" to generate a QR code. Your friends can then scan the QR code on your phone to get access rights.
- 2Q: Why doesn't the Wi-Fi name appear when I connect to Wi-Fi?
- A: On Apple devices with iOS 13 and above, you need to turn on the "location permission" for the app in the system settings and change it to "allow when using."
- 3Q: Will the camera show red lights when night vision is activated?
- A: The built-in infrared lamp beads make the camera show only some dim red lights when night vision is activated. However, the image quality remains clear even in no light environments.
- 4Q: What are the requirements for Wi-Fi?
- A: Please use a 2.4GHz wireless network. The device does not support the 5GHz wireless network. Meanwhile, please set the Wi-Fi authentication method to WPA2-PSK or another lower level of security method. A password is required.
- 5Q: How far should the camera be placed from the router?
- A: After testing, the Wi-Fi connection distance can normally reach up to 220 meters in an open area. However, the actual situation depends on the strength of the Wi-Fi signal and its surrounding environment (e.g., thick walls, electromagnetic devices, large metal objects can all cause interference). If the camera connection signal is weak or unstable, please place the camera as close to the router as possible.
- 6Q: What is the maximum length of recording time?
- A: If you set the duration to "Auto", when someone is detected in the camera's view, it will start recording a video for up to 3 minutes.
- 7Q: How to quickly view videos by category?
- A: Click the icon in the upper left corner of the "Library" page to start filtering videos by category. Select the category you want to see and then click "Save" to view the video playbacks.
- 8Q: What should I do when the device is in malfunction?
- A: Long press the power button for 3 seconds to restart it. If there is no response, you can remove the rubber plug at the bottom of the camera and press the reset hole with a pointed object to restart the camera.
- 9Q: How long does the battery last?
- A: If you record 20 10-second videos per day, the battery can last for 8 months.
- 10Q: What is the voltage and current of the adapter and how long does it take to charge?
- A: Use a DV 5V ±5% / 1.5A adapter to charge. It can be fully charged within 17 hours.
