Sound and Vibration
Sound and vibration values were measured according to EN 62841.
- LpA sound pressure level: 86,12 dB(A) (KPA uncertainty: 3 dB)
- LwA sound power level: 94,12 dB(A) (KWA uncertainty: 3,47 dB)
Wear ear-muffs. The impact of noise can cause hearing damage.
Total vibration values (vector sum of three directions) determined according to EN 62841:
- Vibration emission value ah ≤ 2,5 m/s² (K uncertainty = 1,5 m/s²)
Warning: Vibration and noise emission levels may vary depending on usage. Keep noise and vibrations to a minimum by using appliances in perfect working order, servicing regularly, adapting working style, not overloading the appliance, having it serviced when necessary, switching it off when not in use, and wearing protective gloves.
Caution! Residual Risks
Even with correct use, residual risks exist:
- 1. Hearing damage if ear protection is not used.
- 2. Health damage from hand-arm vibrations if used for prolonged periods or not guided/maintained properly.
Before Starting the Equipment
Before connecting to the mains supply, ensure the rating plate data matches the mains data.
Warning! Always pull the power plug before making adjustments.
Fitting the Cuttings Collector (Fig. 3a-3d)
For horizontal cutting, install the cuttings collector to easily remove cuttings and keep the hedge surface clear (Fig. 3a/3b). Position the collector (9) on the cutter rail (Fig. 3c), push it towards the tip, and secure with screws (8) (Fig. 3d).
Operation
The hedge trimmer has a two-handed safety switch. Both switches (steady grip and handle) must be pressed for operation. Releasing either switch stops the cutters.
- Watch for the cutters to slow to a standstill.
- Check that the cutters work properly. The twin-bladed cutters rotate in opposite directions for high cutting performance and smooth operation.
- Fasten the extension cable in the stress-relief clip (Fig. 4) before use.
- Use extension cables approved for outdoor use.
Notes on Working Practice
- Use the hedge trimmer for shrubs, bushes, and hedges.
- For best results, hold the trimmer with cutter teeth at approximately a 15° angle to the hedge (Fig. 5).
- The twin-bladed cutters rotate in opposite directions, allowing cutting in both directions (Fig. 6).
- Use a guide line for a level cut, trimming branches that protrude beyond it (Fig. 7).
- Cut hedge sides with curved movements from bottom to top (Fig. 8).
Replacing the Power Cable
Danger! If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service, or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.
Cleaning, Maintenance and Ordering of Spare Parts
Danger! Always pull the mains power plug before cleaning.
Cleaning
- Keep safety devices, air vents, and motor housing free of dirt and dust. Wipe with a clean cloth or blow with compressed air at low pressure.
- Clean the device immediately after each use.
- Clean regularly with a moist cloth and mild soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents, as they can attack plastic parts. Ensure no water enters the device to prevent electric shock risk.
Maintenance
- Clean and lubricate cutters at regular intervals for best performance. Remove deposits with a brush and apply a thin film of oil (Fig. 9).
- There are no other parts inside requiring maintenance.
