Whether for parent meetings, school rallies, or guest lectures transmitting audio wirelessly from a laptop, these systems ensure clear audio for everyone.

Operation

Battery

Charge the battery for at least 10 hours before the first use. Plug the power cord into an AC outlet; charging begins automatically, indicated by a flashing charging light that turns solid green when fully charged. The unit can be used while charging.

Two indicators are located above the main power switch. A red light indicates a low battery charge, while a green light signifies a full charge or operation on AC power.

For optimal battery life, recharge after several hours of use rather than storing it with a low charge. Storing the unit for over 30 days without recharging can deteriorate the battery.

Digital Master Volume Control

Upon powering on, the Digital Master Volume Control defaults to the lowest level to prevent accidental damage. Volume can be adjusted using the 'Up'/'Down' buttons on the mixer panel or via the RC-300 infrared remote control. Ensure the remote sensor has a clear line of sight to the speaker.

Recommended Set-up Procedure

For optimal sound, set the master volume to maximum before adjusting wireless receiver and microphone volumes. It is recommended to set UHF receiver volume controls and microphone volume controls to the '10 o'clock' position before turning on the main power. Use a wireless or wired microphone to adjust the master volume.

Digital Audio Player/Recorder & CD Player

The main power switch does not control the Digital Audio Player/Recorder and CD player. These components have a separate power switch integrated with their volume control to conserve battery when not in use.

Wired Microphones

The unit features two independent combination XLR/1/4" jacks for wired microphones. Each jack has its own volume control and a 'Voice/Music' switch. The 'Music' setting provides full fidelity, while the 'Voice' setting tailors the sound for maximum projection and reduced battery drain.

Line In

Use the RCA jacks for stereo input. Both left and right channels are combined, ensuring no program material is lost. If the source is monaural, either RCA jack can be used. The Line In volume control adjusts the input signal level.

Line Out

The RCA jacks provide a monaural output for connecting to other equipment like tape recorders, mixers, or additional amplified speakers. The volume level is dependent on the source's volume control (e.g., tape/CD player volume) and is independent of the Master Volume Control.

Tone Controls

Separate Bass and Treble controls allow for wide adjustment of the frequency response. The '12 o'clock' position is considered flat.

Speaker Mute Switch

Engaging this switch silences all internal and external speakers, with exceptions noted for PA919PS operation.

Voice Priority

This feature enables voice override for music programs. When a microphone is used, the 'ducking' circuit automatically reduces music volume. Music returns to its previous level after a 3-second pause in speech.

Wireless Operation

Wireless UHF Receivers

The wireless receiver 'A' is factory-preset to channel 4, and receiver 'B' to channel 6. Each receiver has three LEDs: green for power, red for RF reception, and amber for audio reception. Front-panel LEDs on the speaker also indicate RF (red) and audio (amber) status.

Note: The PA919SD and PA919 have two wireless 900MHz receivers, while the PA919PS has one. These frequencies are not compatible with PA916 series PAs, M-316, or Q-316 microphones.

Wireless Transmitter

The PA919SD includes a 16-channel UHF transmitter preset to channel 13 for wireless transmission to other PA919 or PA919PS units. It is recommended not to change this setting randomly. If using the transmitter, change wireless receiver 'A' from channel 1 to any channel other than 13 to prevent interference.

Microphone Lockout

Two wireless microphones can be used simultaneously if they are on separate channels. If receiver 'A' is on channel 4, using two beltpack transmitters on the same channel will cause the first one turned on to dominate and lock out the other. Use receiver 'B' on a different frequency for a second microphone.

Turn the transmitter power switch OFF when not in use to conserve battery.

Feedback

Feedback is a high-pitched screech caused when a microphone is too close to the speaker. The microphone picks up speaker sound, which is reamplified, creating a feedback loop that can damage the system. To minimize feedback, maintain a distance of 4 to 6 feet from the speaker.

900 MHz Microphone & Beltpack Transmitter

Q319 Wireless Microphone: Features 16-Channel UHF Transmitter Selector Buttons.

M319 Wireless Belt Pack Transmitter: Includes Hi/Low RF Power switch, Channel Up/Down buttons, 3.5mm Mic In, Volume control, Power button, and a 9V Battery Compartment.

The M319 transmitter can be used with five different microphones:

  • OE-316 Over Ear Mic
  • NM-316 Neck Mic
  • LM-316 Lapel Mic
  • CM-316 Collar Mic
  • HBM-316 Headset Mic

Compatibility Note: The M319 and Q319 are designed for PA919 series PAs and are not compatible with PA916 series PAs, M-316, or Q-316.

Powered Companion Speaker PA919PS

The PA919PS is compatible with PA919 series and M319/Q319 microphones but not with PA916 series, M-316, or Q-316 microphones.

It shares the same amplifier, power supply, and speaker components as the PA919/PA919SD but lacks a mixer panel, as it is controlled by the PA919SD/PA919.

With its integrated 16-channel UHF receiver, it can function as a standalone PA speaker with a Q319 microphone or an M319 beltpack transmitter and compatible headset/lapel microphone. The PA919PS has 5 front LEDs, but only 3 function (red for RF, amber for audio, green for power) due to having only one receiver.

Full Wireless Operation

The transmitter on the PA919/PA919SD is preset to channel 13, as is the receiver on the PA919PS. Audio from the PA919SD can be transmitted wirelessly to the PA919PS. An unlimited number of PA919PS speakers can be used with a PA919 within a 150-foot range.

Audio Line Buss

To link one or two PA919PS speakers to the PowerPro PA919SD via audio line, use the PSC-50 XLR cable. Connect one end to the Audio Line Out XLR connector on the PA919SD and the other end to the Line In XLR on the PA919PS.

The Master Volume Control on the master unit adjusts both the PA919SD and all connected companion speakers. Loudness for each PA919PS must also be adjusted via its own Master Volume Control.

Note: The mute switch on the PA919SD silences speakers connected via cable. In full wireless mode, the mute switch has no effect.

PA919PS Specifications

  • Acoustic Speaker Compliment: 10" Woofer (40oz Magnet, 2" Voice Coil, 6 Ohm), Compression Horn Driver (12oz Magnet, 1" Voice Coil, 8 Ohm).

  • Dimensions: 26" H x 12" W x 10" D.
  • Weight: 52 lbs.
  • Compliance: FCC, CE, C-UL.

Non-powered Companion Speaker PA919-SP

The PA919-SP is a passive speaker connected to the PowerPro or Powered Companion Speaker using an SP-50 cable with 1/4" phone plugs.

Mechanical Notations

  • Telescoping Handle: For pulling the unit.
  • 1/4" Phone Jack Speaker In: For audio input.
  • Integral Wheels: For mobility.

Connecting to the 'Speaker Out' jack divides power between the PowerPro PA919SD/PA919PS and the PA919-SP. Connecting to the 'Switched Out' disconnects the internal speakers of the PA919SD and directs all power to the PA919-SP.

Note: The five LEDs on the front of the PA919-SP are disconnected as it has no internal amplifier or wireless receiver.

Telescoping Handle and Wheels

These are intended for pulling the unit over smooth surfaces. Using the handle to lift or carry the unit, or pulling it up stairs, may cause damage not covered by warranty.

Tripod Mount

A recess on the bottom of all PowerPro Speakers allows mounting to a TP-50 tripod.
