Gyroor G5 Hoverboard User Manual

Welcome to the Gyroor G5 Hoverboard User Manual. This document provides essential information for safe operation, maintenance, and care of your Gyroor G5.

1. Riding Safety

The G5 is a recreational product. Practice is required before mastering riding skills. Gyroor Technology Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Chitado Technology Co., Ltd are not responsible for injuries or damage due to inexperience or failure to follow instructions.

Always reduce risks by following all instructions and warnings. Risks include loss of control, collisions, and falls. Comply with local laws and regulations in public spaces. Maintain safe distances and slow down in unfamiliar areas.

Always wear an approved helmet that fits properly. Do not attempt your first ride in areas with potential hazards like children, pedestrians, or vehicles.

Respect pedestrians by yielding the right of way and passing on the left. Announce yourself when approaching from behind and slow to walking speed. Obey local traffic laws.

In areas without specific regulations for self-balancing electric vehicles, follow the safety guidelines in this manual. Gyroor Technology (CHINA) Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Chitado Technology Co., Ltd are not liable for damages or disputes caused by violations of safety instructions.

Ensure new riders have read the manual and watched the safety video. Assist new riders until they are comfortable, and ensure they wear helmets and protective gear.

Before each ride, check for loose fasteners, damaged components, and tire pressure. Stop riding if the G5 makes abnormal sounds or signals an alarm. Diagnose issues using the Gyroor scooter app or contact your dealer.

Be alert and scan ahead. Your eyes are crucial for avoiding obstacles and low traction surfaces like wet ground, sand, gravel, or ice.

To reduce injury risk, follow all "CAUTION" and "WARNING" notices. Do not ride at unsafe speeds or on roads with motor vehicles. Recommended rider age is 6+ years.

Prohibited Riders:

  • Individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Those with diseases that pose risks during strenuous physical activity.
  • Individuals with balance or motor skill issues.
  • Riders outside the specified height or weight limits (see Specifications).
  • Pregnant women.

Riders under 16 years old require adult supervision. Comply with local laws and regulations. Ensure clear visibility of surroundings and yourself.

Do not ride in snow, rain, or on wet, muddy, icy, or slippery surfaces. Avoid obstacles like sand, loose gravel, or sticks, as they can cause loss of balance or traction.

Do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly. Avoid accelerating when the G5 tilts back or alarms. Do not attempt to override the speed limiter.

Do not attempt to charge if the charger or power outlet is wet. Use a surge protector for charging. Only use the Gyroor supplied charger.

Use only Gyroor approved parts and accessories. Do not modify the G5, as this can lead to injury, damage, or void the warranty.

Do not sit on the steering bar, as this can cause serious injury or damage.

2. Packing List

Verify all items are included upon unpacking:

  • Charger
  • Mainframe
  • User Materials (User Manual, Welcome Card)

If any components are missing, contact your dealer or service center. Retain the box and packaging for future shipping needs. Always power off and unplug the charger before assembly or mounting.

3. Diagram

Positive View: Shows the front/top of the hoverboard, indicating the LED Lamp, Stereo Bluetooth Speaker, and Charging Port.

Side View: Shows the side of the hoverboard, indicating the LED Lamp, ON/OFF Switch, Wheel, and Motor.

4. Charging

Do not connect the charger if the charge port or cable is wet. The G5 is fully charged when the charger's LED changes from red (charging) to green (trickle charge). Close the rubber cap when not charging.

5. First Ride

Riding the G5 involves safety risks. Read the Safety Instructions and follow the New Rider Tutorial in the App before your first ride.

For safety, the G5 is not activated at this time and will beep occasionally after powering on. Download the "Gyroor scooter" app from the app store or Google Play.

6. Learning to Ride

WARNING: Rider must weigh 44-220 lbs (20-120 kg) and be over 4ft (121cm) tall. Wear an approved helmet and protective gear.

For new users, adjust the G5 to child mode via the app or manually.

  1. Go to a large, open area and ask a friend for assistance. WARNING: Always step off from the back of the G5.
  2. Lightly place one foot on the foot mat, keeping the other foot on the ground for balance. Do not press the steering bar with your leg.
  3. Slowly transfer your weight onto the G5. The unit will beep, indicating it is in Balance Mode. Slowly step on with your other foot.
  4. Stand with weight evenly distributed on both feet, relaxed, and looking straight ahead.
  5. Gently lean your body forward and backward to control movement.
  6. To turn, gently lean left or right against the steering bar.

7. Warnings

Understand all Warnings and Safe Riding instructions before riding. Failure to comply can result in death or serious injury due to loss of balance, traction, control, collisions, or falls.

  • Avoid contacting obstacles with the tire/wheel.
  • When traversing small bumps or uneven terrain, maintain a moderate speed (2-6 mph / 3-10 km/h) and keep knees bent. Avoid riding too slow or too fast, which can lead to loss of control.
  • Do not ride on public roads, motorways, highways, or streets.
  • Do not accelerate when the G5 tilts back or sounds an alarm. Do not attempt to override the speed limiter.
  • Do not accelerate or decelerate abruptly. Limit lean angles to 5° and acceleration/deceleration to 2.5 mph/s (4 km/h/s).
  • Watch your head when passing through doorways.
  • Avoid slopes steeper than 15°. For payloads over 176 lbs (80 kg), avoid slopes steeper than 10°.
  • Do not ride through puddles or other bodies of water. Keep the G5 dry.
  • The G5 is for one rider only. Do not ride with passengers or children.
  • Do not ride over holes, curbs, steps, or other obstacles.
  • Do not rock back and forth or shift weight abruptly.
  • Do not attempt stunts. Always keep both feet on the foot mats.
  • Maintain contact with the ground at all times. Do not jump or attempt stunts.
  • Do not ride on low traction surfaces like wet ground, loose sand, loose gravel, or ice.
  • For safety, do not lift the G5 by the fenders when it is turned on, as this can pinch or injure fingers/hands.

8. Maintenance

Cleaning and Storing Your G5

Use a soft, wet cloth to wipe the mainframe clean. For stubborn dirt, use a toothbrush with toothpaste, then clean with a soft, wet cloth. Scratches on plastic parts can be polished with extra-fine grit abrasive paper.

NOTE: Do not use alcohol, gasoline, acetone, or other corrosive solvents. Do not use a power washer or high-pressure hose.

WARNING: Ensure the G5 is powered OFF, the charging cable is unplugged, and the charge port rubber cap is sealed before cleaning to prevent electric shock or component damage.

Store your G5 in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, which can accelerate aging and reduce battery life.

Battery Pack Maintenance

Do not store or charge the battery outside the specified temperature limits. Do not discard or destroy the battery. Refer to the sticker on the battery for more information. Follow local laws for battery recycling.

A well-maintained battery offers better performance. Charge after each ride and avoid complete draining. Battery performance is optimal at 70°F (22°C) and decreases in colder temperatures. Range can recover when temperatures rise. More details are available in the app.

NOTE: A fully charged battery retains charge for 60-90 days in standby. Charging after each use is recommended. Complete battery draining can cause permanent damage, which is not covered by the Limited Warranty.

WARNING: Do not attempt to disassemble the battery; risk of fire. No user-serviceable parts.

WARNING: Do not ride when ambient temperature is outside the machine's operating temperature range, as this can limit power/torque and lead to personal injury or property damage.
